Frequently Asked Questions - DR400SE Atoll

How do I turn on the DR400SE and select the DAC function?
Press the ON/SLEEP button to turn on the player. To use the DAC function, press key 17 on the remote control to select CD or converter/DAC mode. In DAC mode, use the left/right keys to choose between Coaxial, Optical, or USB-B inputs. The DAC function can also be accessed directly in standby mode.
Why is there a clamper on the CD?
The DR400SE uses a top-loading CD mechanism that requires you to place the magnetic CD clamper on the disc before closing the hatch. This ensures proper disc clamping and accurate reading. Never forget to put it on.
How can I reduce the brightness of the display?
Use the DISP key on the remote control. Each press decreases the light intensity, and you can eventually turn the display off completely.
Can I program a custom order of tracks?
Yes, press PROG on the remote. Select the first track, then press PROG again. Repeat for each track you want to add. The display shows the total time and number of selected tracks. Press PLAY to start the sequence, and press STOP twice to erase it.
What is SLEEP mode for?
SLEEP mode is a low-power preheating state that keeps the audio stages at an optimal temperature for better sound quality. It consumes 17 W. When in SLEEP mode, you can also switch to the converter/DAC input for external digital sources.
How do I repeat a specific section of a CD?
While the disc is playing, press the A-B repeat key once to set point A and again to set point B. The player will continuously repeat the selected section until you press the key again.
What digital outputs are available on the DR400SE?
The player provides AES/EBU, optical, and coaxial digital outputs for connection to external DACs or digital processors.
How should I clean the CD player?
Switch off the player before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Never use acetone, white-spirit, ammoniac, or any abrasive product. Do not attempt to clean inside the unit.
How long should I warm up the player before listening?
For optimal performance, switch the unit on at least 30 minutes before listening. This allows the audio stages to reach their ideal working temperature. Between uses, keep it in standby (SLEEP) to maintain that temperature.
What is the warranty period and how can I claim it?
The warranty is valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. You must ask your dealer to fill in the guarantee certificate and keep it with your invoice. The warranty covers defects due to correct use. For service, contact your dealer or ATOLL ELECTRONIQUE.
