Do not use an extension cord

The plug on this appliance has one blade wider than the other, it is a polarized plug. As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit contact a qualified electrician.

Product Features

Thank you for purchasing the Remington® wet2straight™ straightener. This unique flat iron combines optimum styling features with cutting-edge protection. Please carefully read the instructions contained in this booklet, and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

Key Features

Unique steam vents and channels allow this stylist to be safely used on wet or dry hair. The channels extract moisture from damp hair and allow steam to escape through the vents, drying hair and sealing the cuticle at the same time. Creates salon straight, shiny hair in less time, with less damage.

Display:

The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) indicates the heat setting numerically and with a circle of bars. A steam icon appears when you have selected a setting appropriate for use on wet hair - settings of 16 and higher.

Automatic shutoff:

This styler is equipped with automatic shutoff. This safety feature turns the unit off after 60 minutes, in case you accidentally leave it on after styling your hair. Before turning itself off the LCD will flash for 10 seconds, giving you the chance to stop the shutoff process. While the LCD is flashing, simply press the +/- button to use the styler for another 45 minutes. If no button is pressed, the unit will turn itself off when the LCD stops blinking.

Automatic worldwide voltage

This appliance contains a special electronic circuit that automatically converts it for worldwide usage - from 100 to 240 volts AC, 50 to 60Hz . Just plug it into the local outlet and use it as normal; the styler will automatically adjust to the local current. (You may need an adapter to allow the plug to fit into the local outlets, however.)

How to Use

Heat Settings

Take extra care when using a professional styler. To prevent hair damage, make sure to use the correct temperature setting for your hair type.

Setting	Hair Type
A. 1-4	Dry Hair. Very fine, fragile or damaged hair
B. 5-8	Dry Hair. Normal, easy to straighten hair
C. 9-12	Dry Hair. Thick, difficult to straighten hair
D. 13-16	Damp Hair. Very fine, fragile or damaged hair
E. 17-20	Wet Hair. Normal, easy to straighten hair
F. 21-25	Wet Hair. Wavy or thick, difficult to straighten hair
G. 26-30	Wet Hair. Coarse, highly resistant hair in good condition

Closing Lock

This professional flat iron has a closing lock to make the unit easier to store. To lock the iron, simply squeeze the plates together and push the switch to the lock position. To unlock, slide the switch to the unlock position. NOTE: Do not heat the unit in the locked position.

Usage Tips

Straightening Your Hair

1. Gently towel dry hair to remove excess water. Avoid rubbing hair with a towel, as this creates split ends and frizziness. Detangle hair with a wide-toothed comb.
2. Plug the straightener into an electrical outlet. Press and hold the ON/OFF button until the unit turns on and the LCD lights up.
3. The straightener will initially heat to setting 15. Adjust the temperature using the + / - buttons. The bars on the LCD will flash while the unit heats up, then glow steadily when it has reached the selected temperature. The styler will beep three times when it is ready for use.
4. Divide hair into manageable sections and clip the upper layers on top of your head and out of the way. Work with underneath layers first.
5. Test the styler on a small section of hair, then adjust the temperature up or down before styling the rest of your hair. NOTE:

If you find that you need a higher setting while straightening your hair, simply adjust the temperature by pressing the "+" button. The unit will beep when it reaches the new temperature.

While straightening your hair, if you find that you need a lower setting, adjust the temperature by pressing the "- " button. Because the unit is already hot, it may take a few minutes to cool off. It will beep when it cools to the lower temperature.

1. Take a small section of hair and comb through it with a fine-toothed comb. Pull hair down and away from your scalp, and hold it taut.
2. Hold the straightener with the LCD and steam vents facing away from your scalp. Starting at the roots, clamp hair firmly between the plates and run the styler down the entire hair strand, from root to tip, in one smooth stroke. Do not hold it in one area for a long period of time or damage to hair may occur.
3. To speed up drying at the roots, you may wish to run the styler over the first few inches of hair nearest the root several times. Repeatedly run the unit smoothly down the entire strand until hair is fully dried. (NOTE: The unit may make a steaming/hissing noise when used on damp hair. This is okay! The unique design of this styler will channel the moisture away from hair and out the steam vents.)
4. Repeat with all sections of your hair, working with the underneath layers first, then the top and sides, until hair is fully dried.
5. When you are finished styling, press and hold the ON/OFF button to turn the unit off, unplug it, and allow it to cool before storing.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Cleaning

Make sure the unit is unplugged and cool. Use a damp cloth to clean the plates and the outside of the power handle. No other maintenance of the unit is required.

Storage

Unplug the unit whenever it is not in use. Allow it to cool, then store it out of reach of children in a safe, dry location.

Never wrap the cord around the appliance, since this will cause the cord to wear prematurely and break, thus voiding warranty. Handle the cord carefully and avoid jerking, twisting, or straining it, especially at plug connections.

Error Messages

Your straightener will display an "rE" message if it has a recoverable error or malfunction. If this happens, turn the unit off, unplug it, and allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes. Then plug it in and turn it on again. If the message displays again, refer to the full 2-year warranty for return instructions.

1E,2E,3E

If the LCD displays a "1E", "2E" or "3E" message, turn the unit off and unplug it. Do not attempt to use it. Refer to the full 2-year warranty for return instructions.
