How to install the SAITEK MINI UFO HUB?

Simply plug the hub into an available USB port on your powered-on computer. Installation is Plug & Play: no driver is required. The hub is immediately recognized.

Why does my computer not recognize the hub?

Since the hub is bus-powered, it may lack power if too many devices are connected. Unplug devices one by one until the hub is recognized. Also make sure your USB port is working.

Does the hub work with a Mac?

Yes, it is compatible with Mac OS X. Simply plug it into a USB port on your Mac.

What is the maximum transfer speed?

The hub supports USB 2.0 with a theoretical speed of up to 480 Mbit/s. If your computer is USB 1.1, the hub adapts to the highest possible speed.

Can I plug a mouse and keyboard simultaneously?

Yes, you can plug up to 4 USB devices at the same time. However, if a device consumes a lot of power (external hard drive), it may require a separate power supply.

What to do if the hub stops responding?

Unplug the hub from the USB port, wait a few seconds then plug it back in. If the problem persists, connect it to another USB port or restart the computer.

What is the warranty period?

The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase, upon presentation of proof of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in accordance with the conditions of use.

How to clean the USB hub?

Use a soft dry cloth to clean the surface. Do not use liquid or abrasive products. Unplug the hub before cleaning.

What does the crossed-out trash bin symbol on the product mean?

This symbol indicates that the product must not be disposed of with household waste at end of life. It must be taken to a collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

Troubleshooting

When I plug certain devices into the UFO hub they are not recognised by my computer.

As the Saitek UFO Hub does not have a separate power source it can only supply a limited amount of electrical power to the USB devices plugged into it. External devices that draw power through the USB cable may exceed the power available from the Saitek UFO hub. If your computer ceases to recognise the UFO Hub, unplug the devices connected to the hub one by one until it is recognised again.
