Site preparation

  • Clean the floor and wall if necessary.
  • Install the washing machine on a solid, level floor with drainage facilities rather than on soft carpet or wooden floor.
  • Do not place dirty laundry or other items on top of the appliance as this may affect normal operation.

Warnings

Electrical connection

  • Position the washing machine so that the power socket is easily accessible.
  • Do not install pipes in places where temperatures drop below freezing. Pipes will freeze and burst. In addition, temperature below zero will damage the knob and buttons.
  • If you move the appliance to an environment where the temperature is below freezing, then keep it at room temperature for several hours before operation.

Earthing

- The washing machine must be connected to an earthed socket. Should a problem occur, the appliance can reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cable that includes a wire and a grounding plug. The grounding plug must be inserted into an appropriate power socket. If you are unsure whether the washing machine is properly earthed, contact a qualified maintenance professional. If the power socket does not match the grounding plug, do not attempt to modify it yourself.

- If the washing machine emits smoke or unusual odours, disconnect the power immediately and contact a qualified maintenance professional.

The appliance must be connected to the water supply. Use the new water hose supplied rather than the old one. To ensure quality, water injection tests are carried out before the washing machine leaves the factory. Therefore, there may be water inside the drum, door seals and door panel, which is normal.

Water inlet connection

  1. The water supply pressure must be between 30 kPa and 1000 kPa.
  2. Do not tighten the thread when connecting inlet hoses.
  3. If the water supply pressure exceeds 1000 kPa, install a pressure regulator.
  4. There are two seals in the connectors at both ends of the hose to prevent leaks.
  5. Open the tap and check the connectors for leaks.
  6. Check the hoses regularly, replace them if necessary.
  7. Make sure that the hoses are not damaged or in contact with each other.

Connecting inlet hoses and taps

To connect inlet hoses and taps, use a standard tap as shown in Figure 7.

  3. Connect the water supply hoses to the water taps firmly by hand and then tighten a further 2/3 turn with pliers. Connect the blue hose to the water tap. Fig. 10

Warning: Do not overtighten. This could damage the coupling.

  1. After connecting the inlet hose to the washing machine, open the water taps to flush out any foreign substances (dirt, sand or sawdust) from the water pipes. Let the water run into a bucket and check the water temperature. Fig. 11

  2. Connect the hoses to the water inlet firmly by hand and then tighten a further 2/3 turn with pliers. Fig. 12

Warning: Do not overtighten the hoses. Excessive tightening may damage the valves and cause leaks.

  1. Check for leaks by opening the taps. If water leaks occur, repeat steps 1 to 4.

  2. Remove the stopper if the washing machine will be used for a long period of time.

  3. Remove the plug and disable the door lock function to prevent children becoming trapped inside.
  4. Packaging materials (e.g. film, foam) can pose a safety hazard to children and cause suffocation. Warning: Keep all packaging materials out of reach of children.

Drain hose installation

  • Secure the drain hose with a lifting rope.
  • To avoid damage caused by floor leakage, position the drain hose correctly.
  • To avoid siphoning, the drain hose height should be between 0.85 m-1.25 m, and the end should not be submerged in water. Fig. 13
  • If the drainpipe is too long, do not force it into the washing machine, as this may cause abnormal noise.

ENGLISH

Horizontal adjustment

  • To prevent noise and vibrations, level the washing machine. Preferably place it in a corner of the room.
  • If the floor is uneven, adjust the levelling feet. Do not insert pieces of wood or similar materials; make sure all four levelling feet are firmly in contact with the floor and the appliance is completely level.
  • Adjust the levelling feet to ensure that the washing machine is balanced and stands stably on the floor. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut to secure it in position. Do not place the washing machine on a platform higher than floor level, as this could cause the machine to fall and result in accidents.
  • Diagonal check: Press down on opposite corners of the washing machine; it should not shake. (Check both diagonals. If the appliance shakes, readjust the levelling feet).

Door locking and unlocking methods

  • The door will lock automatically when a washing programme starts. At this time, the door lock indicator light will light up.
  • Press the Start/Pause button and wait a few seconds after the wash/spin drum stops rotating. If the door opening conditions are met, the door lock will release automatically, and the display will show that the door lock indicator light is off.
  • The door cannot be opened during high-temperature operation or when there is a high-water level in the drum.
  • When the door cannot be opened normally, the emergency door opening device can be used in case of emergency.

Emergency door opening

If a power failure occurs and the door cannot be opened normally, but you need to open it, pull the emergency opening tab and remember to reset it.

The emergency opening tab is located at the lower right front inside the cover. Fig. 14 Open the cover when using the appliance.

Caution: Do not use the emergency door opening tab while the machine is in operation; if you must use it in an emergency, open the emergency door cover only after the water has cooled down to avoid scalding, as hot water may flow out from the inner tube.

Fabric softener

CECOTEC Bolero Dresscode 9970 Direct Drive Steel - Fabric softener - 1

  • Add fabric softener before washing; it will be automatically dispensed during the final rinse cycle.
  • When using concentrated fabric softener, dilute it appropriately with water.
  • Do not exceed the MAX mark.

Note:

  • Use special detergent.
  • Do not use too much detergent, as this will cause over-sudsing and affect washing quality or cause malfunction.
  • Select the detergent according to the type of laundry, colour, water temperature and soil level.
  • Use mild detergent for better washing results and to protect the environment.

Tips on the use of detergents at different temperatures

  • When washing heavily soiled white items, we recommend using cotton programmes at 60 °C or higher, and a normal powder detergent (heavy-duty). The bleaching agents contained in laundry detergents at medium/high temperatures provide excellent results.
  • For washing cycles between 40 °C and 60 °C, the type of detergent used must be suitable for the type of fabric and the level of soiling. Normal powder detergents are suitable for heavily soiled “white” or fast-coloured fabrics, while liquid detergents or “colour-protecting” detergents are suitable for lightly soiled coloured fabrics.
  • For washing at temperatures below 40 °C, we recommend using liquid detergents or detergents specifically labelled as suitable for low-temperature washing.

4. OPERATION

Note: The first use may drain some water. It is the residual water after the performance test, which is a normal phenomenon.

Comments

  1. The consumption time will change according to the water temperature, the variety of laundry, the quantity and the speed of the water.
  2. The difference between what is displayed on the screen and the actual time of consumption will occur.
  3. If the spin speed is too low, the dehydration effect will be less. Add more rinsing time.
  4. Different parameters, different models.
  5. When the default self-design programme is the power procedure, the wash time will automatically increase.
  6. The Eco 40-60 programme is designed to clean normally soiled cotton laundry and declared washable at 40 °C or 60 °C, at the same temperature, and this programme is used to comply with EU eco-design legislation.
  7. The most energy-efficient programmes are generally those that operate at lower temperatures and for longer durations.
  8. The household washing machine or washer-dryer contributes to energy and water savings.
  9. Noise and remaining moisture content are influenced by the spin speed: the higher the spin speed in the spin phase, the higher the noise and the lower the remaining moisture content.
  10. How to find the model information stored in the database, as defined in Regulation (EU) 2019/2014, by means of a web link that links to the model information stored in the product

  1. The manual and QR code can be found on the energy efficiency label.

Before washing

1. Washing labels

Check the identification of the laundry washing guide, which shows the texture of the laundry and the washing method.

2. Washing classification

  • Please wash clothes of the same texture, as different textures need different water temperature, speed and washing programme, separate brightly coloured clothes from white ones. Separate dyed clothes from cotton, otherwise the white clothes will discolour. If possible, do not wash heavily contaminated clothes with clean clothes together.
  • The degree of contamination (severe, moderate, light): classify the clothes and wash them according to the degree.
  • Colour (white, light colour, dark colour): classify and wash them.
  • Velvet (easy to fall off, easy to adhere): sort white and dark colour.

3. Notes

  • When putting small and large clothes together, put the large clothes first, they should be less than half of the total number of clothes. Do not wash a single garment, as this may cause imbalance problems.
  • Add one or two similar items.
  • Small items such as socks and handkerchiefs should be placed in mesh laundry bags. Before washing the underwired bra, remove the underwires. If it is inconvenient to do so, place them in mesh bags to prevent the fastener from slipping into the gap between the inner and outer drums.
  • Check all pockets and make sure there is nothing inside them. Nails, hairpins, matches, pens, coins and keys will damage the washing machine and clothes.
  • Close all zippers, fasten buttons and tie loose clothing, making sure that other garments are not damaged.
  • First, use water with a little detergent to wash the parts with too many stains, such as the collar and cuffs, which can make the clothes cleaner.
  • Check the door seal and make sure that there is nothing in it.
  • Make sure that there is nothing in the drum before washing.
  • Use low sussing detergent especially for front-loading washing to wash clothes.

  1. Press down: Locate the tab or designated pressure point on the detergent dispenser. It is usually located in the central or lateral part of the compartment.
  2. Slide out: While holding down the tab, gently slide the dispenser outward. It should be released without the need to exert excessive force.

Door gasket

After washing, remove contamination, paper debris, etc. If foreign matter is present, remove it.

Cleaning of the universal coupling (Suggestion: Once every six months).

  • If debris accumulates, it will influence the water inlet speed.
  • Remove the flexible tubing from the side of the connection piece.
  • Remove the screwing device according to the arrow shown.
  • Wash the inside of the screwing device.
  • Install the clean bolting device with the inlet flexible piping.

Cleaning of the water inlet valve (Suggestion: once every six months)

  1. Remove the flexible tubing from the side of the washing machine.
  2. Remove the filter screen from the water.
  3. Clean the filter screen with a toothbrush.
  4. Install the inlet flexible piping.

If the washing machine froze

  1. Cover the faucet and the connection part with a hot towel.
  2. Remove the inlet pipe and place it in 50-degree water.
  3. Pour into the drum about 2-3 litres of 50-degree water.

Caution: do not put laundry or use detergent when cleaning the drum.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

Phenomena that do not represent a failure

StatusProblemCauses
Before washingThere is residual water in the washing machineThe washing machine is subjected to a quality inspection prior to delivery, so that it is normal for a small amount of residual water to remain in the drum.
Drum Clean Plus after startupIn case the washing machine has been used for a long time, it will automatically remind the user to run the Drum Clean Plus programme until it has been run. If you wish, you can ignore the reminder and select another programme.
During the washing phaseRust sound in the drumSilver sterilization tablets are available in the drum.

ENGLISH

StatusProblemCauses
No water during the washing phaseThe water level during washing is below the door glass.
Does not add clothes to the middleOnly some low-speed wash programs allow the addition of laundry. The door opening must meet the conditions of safe water level and temperature and must also be related to the number of garments and water absorption.
During the washing phaseVerify that the “pause” key is not pressed.
During rinsingUndesirable cleaning effectLess washing time and less detergent (heavily soiled clothes).
White spots have appeared on clothes after washing. You have used powder detergent. The water-insoluble components of phosphorus-free detergent tend to adhere to clothes and generate stains. Select “rinse + dehydration” to rinse or remove stains with a brush after drying.
During drainagePoor drainage effectA single heavy load causes the eccentricity to be excessive. Wash large and small clothes together, and do not wash a single heavy load.
High vibrationConfirm that the washing machine is placed on a hard horizontal floor, with the feet level, and that the 4 rear bolts have been completely removed.
OthersMachine malfunctionThe child lock function is activated when the programme is running. The child lock light is on. Long press the “child lock key” to cancel the child lock function.
Peculiar odourIt's the rubber smell of the new washing machine. Run the Drum Clean Plus programme according to the instructions. After washing, the door should be kept open to ventilate and remove moisture in the drum.
The programme operation is longer than usual. The eccentric sensing function is designed to achieve the balance dehydration will be long; low pressure distributing the laundry in the drum; in case of too much foam, the water time and large water absorption during the water inlet.
