How to charge the trimmer for the first time?

Before first use, charge the trimmer for 16 hours. Place the turned-off trimmer on the charging base and plug in the adapter. The charging indicator light turns on.

What is the battery life after a full charge?

After a full charge, you can use the trimmer for 30 minutes.

How to install and remove accessories?

Make sure the device is turned off. To install, align the bottom of the accessory with the device and snap it on until you hear a click. To remove, push the head upward.

How to use the cutting guides?

Always place the cutting guide before turning on the trimmer. Turn off to change the guide. Move the trimmer against the direction of hair growth.

How to adjust the cutting height?

The cutting height adjusts manually: push the guide up to increase, down to decrease. The height is displayed on the back of the device.

Is the trimmer waterproof?

Yes, the E830XE trimmer is waterproof and can be used in the shower for optimal comfort and hygiene.

How to clean the blades?

Remove the cutting guide after each use. The blades are removable: hold the trimmer with blades facing up and press at the tip to detach them. Brush them with the provided brush.

How to oil the blades?

After cleaning, attach a trimmer head, turn the device ON, and put a few drops of BaByliss oil on the blades. The oil is specially formulated not to evaporate.

Can I replace the blades?

Yes, replacement blades are available when the blades are worn or damaged. You can purchase them from BaByliss.

How to use the shaving head?

The 18 mm shaving head adapts to facial contours for a close shave. Use it without the cutting guide for finishing, neck lines, and sideburns.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE NI-MH BATTERIES OF THIS UNIT

To obtain and maintain the longest battery autonomy possible, allow it to charge for 16 hours before using it for the first time and then approximately every three months. Full autonomy of the unit will only be obtained after three complete recharge cycles.

CHARGING THE UNIT

Before using the trimmer for the first time, allow it to charge for 16 hours.

1. Remove the trimmer and all the accessories from the base and turn the base over. Open the security tongue, insert the power cord into the opening intended for this, pushing it in firmly and replace the security tongue. Place the cord in the groove. Put the base back in place and connect it to the mains. (Fig. 1)
2. Place the trimmer (set to OFF) in the charging base and check that the charging indicator light is on.
3. A full charge will allow you 30 minutes of autonomous use.

WATERPROOF

For a greater comfort of use, your E830XE trimmer is waterproof and can even be used in the shower. Easy to clean, it guarantees a maximum hygiene.

ATTACHING AND REMOVING ACCESSORIES

Make sure that the unit is switched off before changing the trimmer head or accessories.

To attach a head, fit the base of the accessory onto the unit pressing it until you hear a click. To remove a head, hold the handle of the unit in one hand and push up on the head with your free hand to remove it (Fig.2).

USING THE CUTTING GUIDES

Very practical, the cutting guide guarantees equal cutting length.
IMPORTANT: Always attach the cutting guide BEFORE turning

the trimmer on, and turn it off before changing the guide.

The cutting length of your E830XE trimmer is manually adjustable.

To increase the cutting length, push the cutting guide up.

To reduce the cutting length, push it down.

The selected length is displayed at the back of the trimmer.

CUTTING TECHNIQUES AND ADVICE FROM THE EXPERTS

HAIR

• Use the trimmer on clean, dry hair.

To familiarise yourself with the trimmer, start with a longer cutting length and gradually work through the shorter lengths to the one you want. In this way you'll quickly find the cutting length that suits you best.

Always move the trimmer against the direction of hair growth.

• Begin at the nape. Place the guide on the scalp and move the trimmer toward the crown of your head. Move your trimmer slowly, pointing the teeth of the guide slightly upward. Keep the trimmer in contact with your head at all times. (Fig. 3)

For the crown of the head, move from front to back, that is, from your forehead to the crown of your head.

• For the finishing touches, that is, around the nape and sideburns, use the trimmer without a cutting guide. Turn your trimmer over and move it from top to bottom. (Fig. 4)

• If you want a length greater than 30~mm , or if you are experienced, you can create 'comb' or 'finger' cuts:

• Work without a cutting guide.
• Take up a small section of hair with a comb or in your fingers.
• Move the comb or your fingers along the section of hair to the desired length.
• Cut your hair along the comb or your fingers.
• Remove the cut hair using a comb and check the evenness of the cut regularly. (Fig. 5)

FACE

For the beard or moustache just the way you want it...

Decide on the type of beard or moustache that best suits your face taking into account the size of your face and natural growth and thickness of your beard and/or moustache. After deciding on the form of the beard and/or moustache, it is easy to maintain its appearance by using the trimmer as soon as you feel it is necessary. For better results, we recommend cutting the beard when it is dry. This helps make the cut precise and comfortable.

To determine the shape of the beard

After having combed your beard in the direction of its natural growth, decide on the desired shape by starting under the jaw. Come back up each side towards the ears. Then continue on your cheeks towards the hair. Make sure you always trim or style your beard against the hair growth.

Patterning your hair and giving it a perfect finish

Use the precision trimmer. Your precision trimmer comes with an exclusive special short cut blade. Its narrow size (7mm) enables you to pattern your hair and beard with great accuracy.

To eliminate undesirable nose and ear hairs

Gently insert trimmer head into the ear or nose and cut the hairs. NOTE! Only use in the opening of the nostrils or ears to avoid any risk of injury.

MAINTENANCE

Remove the cutting guide after each use.

Cleaning the trimmer blades regularly will maintain their optimal performance.

Removable blades

To make cleaning easier, the BaByliss trimmer blades can be removed. Make sure the trimmer is turned off. Hold the trimmer with the blades pointing up and remove them by pressing the top of the blade. (Fig. 6)

Brush the blades using the cleaning brush to remove any hair.

Periodically, it may be necessary to oil the blades. After cleaning, attach a trimmer head, switch on and oil the blades using a few drops of lubricating oil.

BaBylliss oil is specially formulated for trimmers, it will not evaporate or slow the blades down.

You can get new blades when these are worn or damaged.
