IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE NI-MH BATTERIES OF THIS UNIT

To obtain and maintain thelongest battery autonomypossible, allow it to chargefor 16 hours before using itfor the first time and thenapproximately every three

months. Full autonomy of the unit will only be obtained after three complete recharge cycles.

CHARGING THE UNIT

1. Remove the trimmer and all the accessories from the base and turn the base over. Open the security tongue, insert the power cord into the opening intended for this, pushing it in firmly and replace the security tongue. Place the cord in the groove. Put the base back in place and connect it to the mains. (Fig. 1)
2. Place the trimmer (set to OFF) in the charging base and check that the charging indicator light is on.
3. A full charge (16 hours) will allow you 30 minutes of autonomous use.
4. Before using the trimmer for the first time, allow it to charge for 16 hours.
5. Subsequent charges should also be 16 hours.

USE ON THE MAINS

To use the trimmer on the mains, plug the cord directly into the unit.

Plug the trimmer, in the OFF position, into the mains and switch ON (If the battery is very weak, wait about 1 minute).

IMPORTANT! Use only the adapter that is supplied with the trimmer Ref. E836XE Voltage = 3V -Current 1000mA

WATERPROOF

For a greater comfort of use, your E836XE trimmer is waterproof and can even be used in the shower. Easy to clean, it guarantees a maximum hygiene.

ATTACHING AND REMOVING ACCESSORIES

Make sure that the unit is switched off before changing the trimmer head or accessories.

To attach a head, fit the base of the accessory onto the unit pressing it until you hear a click. To remove a head, hold the handle of the unit in one hand and push up on the head with your free hand to remove it (Fig.2).

To remove the body comb guide, push up one side of the comb (Fig.3).

USING THE CUTTING GUIDES

Very practical, the cutting guide guarantees equal cutting length.
IMPORTANT: Always attach the cutting guide BEFORE turning the trimmer on, and turn it off before changing the guide.

The cutting length of your E836XE trimmer is manually adjustable.

To increase the cutting length, push the cutting guide up.

To reduce the cutting length, push it down.

The selected length is displayed at the back of the trimmer.

CUTTING TECHNIQUES AND ADVICE FROM THE EXPERTS HAIR

• Use the trimmer on clean, dry hair.
  To familiarise yourself with the trimmer, start with a longer cutting length and gradually work through the shorter lengths to the one you want. In this way you'll quickly find the cutting length that suits you best.
  Always move the trimmer against the direction of hair growth.

• Begin at the nape. Place the guide on the scalp and move the trimmer toward the crown of your head. Move your trimmer slowly, pointing the teeth of the guide slightly upward. Keep the trimmer in contact with your head at all times. (Fig. 4)

• For the crown of the head, move from front to back, that is, from your forehead to the crown of your head.
• For the finishing touches, that is, around the nape and sideburns, use the trimmer without a cutting guide. Turn your trimmer over and move it from top to bottom. (Fig. 5)
• If you want a length greater than 30mm or if you are experienced, you can create 'comb' or 'finger' cuts:
• Work without a cutting guide.
• Take up a small section of hair with a comb or in your fingers.
• Move the comb or your fingers along the section of hair to the desired length.
• Cut your hair along the comb or your fingers.
• Remove the cut hair using a comb and check the evenness of the cut regularly. (Fig. 6)

FACE

For the beard or moustache just the way you want it...

Decide on the type of beard or moustache that best suits your face taking into account the size of your face and natural growth and thickness of your beard and/or moustache. After deciding on the form of the beard and/or moustache, it is easy to maintain its appearance by using the trimmer as soon as you feel it is necessary. For better results, we

recommend cutting the beard when it is dry. This helps make the cut precise and comfortable.

To determine the shape of the beard

After having combed your beard in the direction of its natural growth, decide on the desired shape by starting under the jaw. Come back up each side towards the ears. Then continue on your cheeks towards the hair. Make sure you always trim or style your beard against the hair growth.

Theshaving headadapts perfectly to the contours of your face and gives even the most difficult parts a close shave. Result: a neat and precise cut in less time for an impeccable look.

Patterning your hair and giving it a perfect finish

Use the precision trimmer. Your precision trimmer comes with an exclusive special short cut blade. Its narrow size (7mm) enables you to pattern your hair and beard with great accuracy.

To eliminate undesirable nose and ear hairs

Gently insert trimmer head into the ear or nose and cut the hairs. NOTE! Only use in the opening of the nostrils or ears to avoid any risk of injury.

BODY

Thanks to this shaving head for body, you can trim or shave any part of your body quickly and evenly (chest, stomach, legs, etc.) The shaving head includes 2 blades. These blades shorten long hair and allow you to easily

achieve precise shaving.

The cutting guide used with the shaving head allows you to determinate the hair length to 3mm when you don't want to shave completely (for ex. underarms).

MAINTENANCE

Remove the cutting guide after each use.

Cleaning the trimmer blades regularly will maintain their optimal performance.

Removable blades

To make cleaning easier, the BaByliss trimmer blades can be removed. Make sure the trimmer is turned off. Hold the trimmer with the blades pointing up and remove them by pressing the top of the blade.(Fig.7)

Brush the blades using the cleaning brush to remove any hair.

Self-lubricating blades

The blades of your trimmer have a reservoir pad for releasing the necessary amount of oil for proper operation of your trimmers, time after time. Nevertheless, it is recommended that it be refilled occasionally when you notice performance is not as high.

Remove the blades as described above.

Squeeze a few drops of BaBylliss oil onto the pad (Fig. 8).

Then replace the blades on the trimmer.

The BaByliss oil is specially formulated for the trimmer, it does not evaporate nor does it slow the blades.

It is possible to obtain replacement blades when these are worn out or damaged.
