How to remove the blade from the FLYMO HT6-70 electric hedge trimmer?
Frequently Asked Questions - 18/03/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Before you begin: completely unplug the FLYMO HT6-70 hedge trimmer from the electrical outlet and wait a few seconds for the blades to come to a complete stop. Wear thick protective gloves to avoid cuts when handling the sharp blades.

Steps to remove the blade: locate the fixing screws that hold the blade in place, usually located on either side of the motor block. Use a suitable Phillips screwdriver to carefully unscrew these fixings. There are usually two to three screws per side. Once the screws are fully removed, hold the blade firmly and gently pull it out by sliding it out of its housing, being careful not to cut yourself on the sharp edges of the blades.

Inspection and maintenance: take advantage of the blade removal to carefully inspect the blades and check their wear condition. Clean any grass or sap residues accumulated on the blades using a soft brush or a dry cloth. If the blades are dull, damaged, or show signs of wear, replace them with original parts compatible with the HT6-70 model.

Before reassembly: lightly lubricate the blades with a thin layer of machine oil or specialized oil. This maintenance prevents corrosion and maintains cutting efficiency. Ensure that all contact surfaces are clean and free of debris before reassembling the blade.

Secure reassembly: reinstall the blade by gently sliding it back into its housing, then screw the fixings back in the reverse order. Tighten the screws firmly but not excessively to avoid damaging the threads. Check that the blade is stable and properly aligned with the motor block before restoring the power supply.

sed by the manufacturers. If it is necessary to replace parts, insist on original spare parts.

Useful advice

While trimming, always hold the hedge trimmer tightly with both hands so that the blades are away from the body.

Always hold the hedge trimmer in front you. Pass the extension lead over your shoulder, making sure you keep it in this position during trimming. Keep the blades sideways on with respect to the direction of growth of the branches (Fig. 3). It is advisable to start cutting the hedge from the bottom, working up to the top. This guarantees foliage uniformity over time, giving the hedge

a wider shape at the bottom than at the top.

Voltage

Make sure that your electricity supply voltage corresponds to that written on the hedge trimmer's motor plate.

Current

Plugs/extension leads

We strongly advise the use of protected sockets, leads and plugs in PVC or approved rubber.
