Frequently Asked Questions - SVW-800.1 KOSPEL
How to install the Kospel SVW-800.1 water heater?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. Fix the unit to the wall with the supplied plugs, connect the cold and hot water pipes, then plug in the 230V power supply. Observe safety distances and max pressure of 6 bars.
How to adjust the water temperature?
Turn the thermostat on the control box. The adjustment range is from 30°C to 75°C. An intermediate position (60°C) is recommended to avoid burns and reduce limescale.
How often should the water heater be drained?
Annual draining is recommended to remove limescale deposits. Turn off the power, wait for cooling, then open the drain valve. Then close it and bleed the air.
What to do if the water does not heat?
First check the power supply and circuit breaker. If everything is correct, the thermostat or heating element may be faulty. Consult the manual to test the thermostat or contact a professional.
How to descale the water heater?
Descaling is recommended every 2 to 3 years depending on water hardness. Use a descaling product compatible with enameled steel. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and rinse thoroughly.
Why should the magnesium anode be checked?
The anode protects the tank against corrosion. It is consumed over time. Check it every 2 years and replace it if it is reduced to less than half its original size.
What is the normal noise of the water heater?
A slight crackling during heating is normal (expansion of the walls). If you hear hissing or violent banging, this may indicate excessive limescale buildup or a pressure problem.
Can the heating be programmed?
The SVW-800.1 model is not equipped with electronic programming. It heats continuously to the set temperature. An external timer can be added to limit operating periods.
What to do in case of water leakage?
Immediately cut off the power supply and water supply. Check the connections, safety valve and tank. If the leak comes from the tank, replacement of the unit is necessary.
Where to find spare parts for this model?
Spare parts (anode, thermostat, heating element, gaskets) are available from Kospel authorized dealers or online. Use the reference SVW-800.1 to identify compatible parts.
