Frequently Asked Questions - CPY9MXVGG CANDY

How do I install the Candy CPY9MXVGG cooker hood?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified technician. Ensure the hood is securely fixed to the ceiling and connected to the mains via a dedicated circuit. The minimum distance between the hob and the hood should be 65 cm for electric hobs and 75 cm for gas hobs. Refer to the manual for detailed step-by-step instructions.
How often should I clean the grease filter?
The aluminum grease filter should be cleaned every 2-3 months, or more frequently with heavy use. You can clean it in a dishwasher using a short cycle at low temperature. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
How do I replace the charcoal filter?
The charcoal filter is used in recirculation mode. It should be replaced every 4-6 months. To replace, remove the grease filter, locate the charcoal filter, unclip it, and insert a new one. Ensure it is properly secured before reattaching the grease filter.
What are the dimensions of the CPY9MXVGG?
The hood has a width of 90 cm, depth of 50 cm, and a height adjustable between 60 and 110 cm. Always verify the exact dimensions in the manual before installation.
How can I reduce the noise level of my cooker hood?
Ensure the hood is installed correctly and the ductwork is smooth and straight. Use lower speed settings for quieter operation. Regular cleaning of filters also helps reduce noise.
Why is my Candy hood not extracting properly?
Check if the filters are clogged and clean or replace them. Ensure the duct is not blocked or bent. Verify that the hood is set to extraction mode (not recirculation if ducted). Also, check that the motor is running and the speed setting is adequate.
How do I reset the filter alarm?
After cleaning or replacing the filters, press and hold the reset button (usually a specific combination of controls) for 3 seconds. The indicator light will turn off. Refer to the manual for the exact procedure.
Can I use the hood without a charcoal filter?
Yes, if you are using the hood in extraction mode (ducted outside), you do not need a charcoal filter. Only use the charcoal filter in recirculation mode where air is filtered and returned to the kitchen.
What is the warranty period for Candy CPY9MXVGG?
Candy offers a standard 2-year warranty on this model. Warranty covers manufacturing defects but not damage due to improper installation or maintenance. Keep your purchase receipt.
How do I clean the stainless steel surface?
Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water, or a dedicated stainless steel cleaner. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals. Wipe in the direction of the grain to prevent streaks.
