The pressure regulator must not be twisted after installation. ⚠ Observe all safety instructions for handling liquid gas cylinders. (Chapter Safety instructions for operation)
Safety instructions for operation
General instructions for handling liquid gas cylinder systems:
Properties of liquid gas:
Liquid gas (propane, butane and their mixtures) is a highly flammable, colourless gas with a distinct odour.
It is more sheer than air and ignitable even when mixed slightly with the ambient air.
Caution! Uncontrolled outflow of gas can deflagrate or explode.
Liquid gas is under pressure in the cylinder. Protect against heating above 40°C! At higher temperatures, especially when exposed to fire, there is a risk of uncontrolled gas leakage and even bursting of the cylinder.
Behaviour in case of disturbances:
In case of malfunctions and leaks (e.g. gas smell, leakage noises), observe the following rules:
- Immediately close the bottle valve (clockwise).
- Do not smoke or use an open fire.
- Do not operate any electric switches.
- Do not make a phone call.
- Open doors and windows, provide ventilation.
- If possible, take the leaking bottle outside.
- Leave the building and notify an authorized technical assistance service.
Safety precautions:
- The contact protection located on the appliance serves to prevent fire hazards and burns; no part of the protection may be permanently removed.
⚠ IT DOES NOT PROVIDE FULL PROTECTION FOR SMALL CHILDREN AND INFIRM PEOPLE!
The heater is equipped with an oxygen deficiency fuse. If there is a high level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the room, the fuse ensures that the unit switches off automatically. It is not possible to switch the unit on again until you have ventilated the room.
Operation
After you have read and understood the general safety instructions and the unit-specific safety instructions, you can start using the unit. Proceed as follows:
Inserting the gas bottle:
- The appliance is operated with a propane / butane gas mixture at 50 mbar.
- To operate the appliance, you need a liquid gas bottle up to max. 11 kg, hose and pressure regulator for outdoor use are already pre-assembled.
- The installation or replacement of the liquid gas cylinder must be carried out in a flame-free atmosphere.
- The unit must be turned off at the bottle valve when not in use and to change bottles. • After the initial start-up and before each subsequent start-up, and especially after each bottle change, the tightness must be checked with foam-forming agents (e.g. soapy water).
- Tightness is ensured if no bubbles form.
⚠️ Density testing with an open flame is strictly prohibited!
- The bottle must be placed in the appliance so that it does not come into contact with the burner holder plate and the gas supply pipe attached to it. The hose must not rest against the hot back of the burner.
- The appliance is supplied with a hose, 50 cm long. The hose must not be shortened or replaced with a longer one.
- Check the condition of the hose at regular intervals, at least every time the bottle is changed.
- In case of damage, the hose must be replaced with a DIN DVGVV-tested replacement hose of identical construction.
- The hose is connected to the regulator by means of a V4" left-hand thread.
- When fitting the hose/pressure regulator to the liquid gas cylinder, avoid twisting the gas hose.
Attention! The gas hose must not rest against the back wall of the burner!
- Operation with pressure regulator types other than those specified is not permitted.
- Make sure that the hose and regulator are replaced every 5 years at the latest.
Connecting the liquid gas bottle:
- Remove the valve protection cap
- Unscrew the lock nut from the connection pipe (clockwise).
- Check the rubber seal in the cylinder valve (regulator connection).
- Screw on regulator with hose hand-tight (left-hand thread). Do not use any tools! Do not turn the regulator, but the union nut.
- Carry out a leak test.
Replacing the liquid gas cylinder:
- Close bottle valve
- Unscrew the regulator.
- Turn the cap nut to the connection thread (left-hand thread). -Put on the valve protection flap.
- Connect the new bottle and carry out the leak test.
Commissioning of the gas heater:
- Before use, place the gas cylinder upright for 1 hour, if it has been transported beforehand, so that the environmentally harmful parts can collect at the bottom of the cylinder.
- Open the valve on the gas cylinder (p.11, Fig. 1) and carry out a leak test (p.10, Fig. 6).
- If the leak test is successful, position the heater at the place of use and check the brakes on the castors before commissioning (p.10, Fig. 7)
1) Set the valve control knob to the ignition position
* and press it down to release the gas supply manually. (S11 fig. 2)
2) Keep the control dial pressed and press the piezo ignition button several times.
This ignites the pilot flame.
If the pilot flame does not ignite, wait 30 seconds and then carry out the ignition process again.
3) When the pilot flame has ignited, keep the rotary control pressed for another 20 seconds until the thermal fuse has warmed up and keeps the gas supply open.
Never keep the valve control knob pressed in the ignition position for longer than 40 seconds!
4) When the pilot flame is lit, press the valve control knob slightly downwards and select the desired heating level/burning power. (The control engages - to adjust it, press it down again to adjust) (p.11, fig. 3-5) Be sure to stand behind or to the side of the appliance and not in front of the burner!

Do not move the heater when it is in operation!
Decommissioning of the gas heater:
1) Turn the valve control knob to the ignition position * as described above. 2) Stop the gas supply and switch off the appliance by closing the valve on the gas bottle completely.
Inspection and maintenance
- Dirt on the housing can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Make sure that no water gets on the surface of the catalytic burner.
- Do not use abrasives or solvents for cleaning.
- If the appliance is not used for a longer period of time, the gas bottle must be removed and the appliance must be stored in a protected place. (S 12)
- Contact your authorised dealer for more extensive maintenance.
- Only use original spare parts for repairs.
- At least once a month and whenever the gas bottle is replaced, the gas hose lines must be checked. If there are signs of damage, the hose lines must be replaced.
- A comprehensive maintenance check of the unit, hose lines, and pressure regulator should be carried out every 2 years by a specialist company.
- We recommend replacing the hose and regulator every 5 years, as rubber seals and diaphragms can become porous and thus leak.
Storage
Switch off the appliance and let it cool down before storing it. It must always be disconnected from the gas cylinder using the gas cylinder shut-off valve.
Clean the appliance (see chapter Cleaning) and store it in its original packaging in a well-ventilated and dry place out of the reach of children.
Store the unit away from heat, frost, direct sunlight, and dust.
The optimum storage temperature is between 5 °C and 30 °C.
Always store the gas bottle and heater separately from each other!
Storage of liquid gas cylinders
Ensure that gas cylinders are used and stored in rooms that are sufficiently ventilated.
Never store the liquid gas cylinder in environments or rooms below ground level!
Gas cylinders must always be securely fastened in an upright position to a wall rack or in a specially made gas cylinder trolley. Gas cylinders must always be stored upright! This also applies to empty gas cylinders!
The gas cylinders must be fitted with valve protection caps and lock nuts for storage. The same applies to transport.
A leaking gas cylinder can cause a reduction in the oxygen content in the breathing air and thus a risk of suffocation.
