Frequently Asked Questions - The Inca Smart C FABER

How to install the The Inca Smart C hood?
Installation must be carried out by a professional. The hood can be built-in or suspended. Respect safety distances: 65 cm above an electric hob, 75 cm for a gas hob. Use the supplied fixings and ensure a compliant electrical connection.
How to clean the grease filter?
The aluminum grease filter can be cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand with hot water and detergent. Let it dry before reinserting. Regular cleaning (every 2 months) maintains performance.
What is the charcoal filter for?
The charcoal filter absorbs odors when the hood operates in recirculation mode. It must be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on use. The Inca Smart C model can be equipped with an optional charcoal filter.
What to do if the hood does not turn on?
First check the power supply and fuse. Make sure the child lock button is not activated. If the problem persists, contact Faber after-sales service.
How to adjust the hood speed?
The hood has several speeds selectable via the touch panel. Press the '+' button to increase speed and '-' to decrease. An LED display indicates the current speed.
The filter saturation indicator lights up, what to do?
This indicator means the filters need to be cleaned or replaced. Clean the grease filter and, if the indicator persists, change the charcoal filter. The indicator can be reset by pressing a specific button for a long time (see the manual).
What is the warranty of the hood?
The Faber The Inca Smart C hood is warranted for 2 years parts and labor. Keep your purchase receipt. For any claim, contact your retailer or Faber customer service.
Can I order spare parts?
Yes, spare parts (filters, bulbs, motor, etc.) are available on the official faber.fr website or from authorized dealers. Use the model number The Inca Smart C to identify parts.
How to use the automatic shut-off function?
The hood can be programmed to turn off automatically after a set time (e.g., 5 or 10 minutes). Activate this function via the touch panel: press the timer button and select the duration.
The hood is noisy, is that normal?
The maximum noise level is 65 dB(A), which is normal for a high-performance hood. If the noise becomes abnormal, check that the filters are clean and that nothing is blocking the air outlet. Contact customer service if the noise persists.

The wire connection has to be done by specialized technician.

  • The manufacturer will not be held liable for any damages resulting from incorrect or improper installation.
  • The minimum safety distance between the cooker top and the extractor hood is 650 mm (some models can be installed at a lower height, please refer to the paragraphs on working dimensions and installation).
  • If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be respected.
  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to that indicated on the rating plate fixed to the inside of the hood.
  • Means for disconnection must be incorporated in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
  • For Class I appliances, check that the domestic power supply guarantees adequate earthing.

Connect the extractor to the exhaust flue through a pipe of minimum diameter 120 mm. The route of the flue must be as short as possible.

  • Regulations concerning the discharge of air have to be fulfilled.
  • Do not connect the extractor hood to exhaust ducts carrying combustion fumes (boilers, fireplaces, etc.).

- If the extractor is used in conjunction with non-electrical appliances (e.g. gas burning appliances), a sufficient degree of aeration must be guaranteed in the room in order to prevent the backflow of exhaust gas. When the cooker hood is used in conjunction with appliances supplied with energy other than electric, the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 0.04 mbar to prevent fumes being drawn back into the room by the cooker hood.

- The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent.

- Connect the plug to a socket complying with current regulations, located in an accessible place.

- With regards to the technical and safety measures to be adopted for fume discharging

it is important to closely follow the regulations provided by the local authorities.
