2. Insertthe batteries, observing the correct polarity (see marking) 3. Replace the battery compartment cover on the unit. Note:
In the event of changing batteries in any of the units, all units need to be reset by following the seing up procedures. This is because a random security code is assigned by the transmitter at-start-up and this code must be received and stored by the Weather station in the first 3 minutes of power being supplied to it
BATTERY CHANGE: Itis recommended to replace the batteries in all units on an annual basis to ensure optimum accuracy of these units.
Please participate in the preservation of the environment. Retum used batteries to an authoriseel depot. =

DCF-77 RADIO CONTROLLED TIME: ‘The time base for the radio controlled time is a Cesium Atomic Clock operated by the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstait Braunschweïg which has a time deviation of less than one second in one million years. The time is coded and transmited from Maintlingen near Frankfurt via frequency signal DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) and has à transmitng range of approximately 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled Weather Station receives this signal and convert itto show the precise time in summer or wintertime, The quality of the reception depends great on the geographic location. In normal cases, there should be no reception problems within a 1,500km radius around Frankéurt.
Once the outdoor temperature and hurridit are displayed on the Weather station after initial set-up, the DCF tower icon in the clock display wil! Start flashing in the upper left comer. This indicates that the clock has detected that there is a radio signal present and is tying t receive it When the time code is received, the DCF tower becomes. permanent li and the time will be displayed.
DCF reception is done twice daily at 02:00 and 03:00 am If the reception is not successful at 03:00 am then the next reception takes place the next hour and so on until 06:00am or un the reception is successful If the reception is not successful at 06:00 am then the next atterrpt will take place the next day at 02:00 am
Ifthe toweer icon flashes, but does not setthe time or the DCF tower does not appear at all, then please take note ofthe following!
+ Recommended distance to any interfering sources like computer monitors or TV sets is à minimum of 1.5 - 2 metres.
+ Within ferro-concrete rooms (basements, superstuctures), the received signal is naturally weakened. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to à window and/or point is front or back towards the Frankdurt transmitter.
+ During nightäime, the atmospheric disturbances are usually less severe and reception is possible in most
cases. A single daily reception is adequate to keep the accuracy deviation below 1 second.

WEATHER FORECAST AND TENDENCY:
The weather forecasting icons: ‘There are 3 weather icons in the third section of LCD which can be displayed in any of the following corbinations:
Sunny Cioudy with sunny intervals.
For every sudden or significant change in the air pressure, the weather icons will update accordingly to represent the change in weather. If the icons do not change, then it means either the air pressure has not changed or the change has been too slow for the Weather station to register. However, if the icon displayed is a sun or raining cloud, there will be no change of icon if the weather gets any better (with sunny icon) or worse (with rainy icon) since the icons are already at their extremes.
‘The icons displayed forecasts the weather in temrs of geting better or worse and not necessary Sunny or rainy as each icon indicates. For exarple, ifthe current weather is cloudy and the rainy icon is displayed, it does not mean that the product is faulty because itis not raining. It simply means that the air pressure has dropped and the weather is expected to get worse but not necessarily rainy.
After setting up, readings for weather forecasts should be disregarded for the next 12-24 hours. This will allow suffcient time for the Weather Station to collect air pressure data at a constant altitude and therefore result in a rrore accurate forecast.
Comron tp weather forecasting, absolute accuracy cannot be guaranteed. The weather forecasting feature is. estimated to have an accuracy level of about 75% due t the varying areas the Weather Station has been designed for use in. In areas that experience sudden changes in weather (for exarrple from sunny to rain), the Weather Station will be more accurate compared to use in areas where the weather is stagnant most of the time (for xarrple most sunny)
Ifthe Weather Station is moved tp another location significantly higher or lower than its initial standing point (for exarrple fromthe ground floor ta the upper floors of a house), remove the batteries and re-insert them after about 30 seconds. By doing this, the Weather Station vil! not mistake the new location as being a possible change in air pressure when real itis due to the slight change of altitude. Again, disregard weather forecasts for the next 12 to 24 hours as this will allow time for operation at a constant altitude.
THE WEATHER TENDENCY INDICATOR Working together with the weather icons are the weather tendency indicators (located on the left and right hand side of the weather icons). When the indicator points upwards, it means that the air-pressure is increasing and the weather is expected t improve, but when indicator points dounwards, the air-pressure is dropping and the weather is expected to become worse.
Taking this into account, one can see how the weather has changed and is expected tp change. For exarrple, ifthe indicator is pointing dounwards together with cloud and sun icons, then the last noticeable change in the weather was when itwas sunny (the sun icon only). Therefore, the next change in the weather will be the cloud with rain icons since the indicator is painting dowrwards.
Once the weather tendency indicator has registered a change in air pressure, it will remain permanent visualized onthe LCD.
‘The indoor temperature and humidity are measured automatically and displayed on the fourth section ofthe LCD.
THE COMFORT LEVEL INDICATORS:

THERMO-HYGRO OUTDOOR TRANSMITTE. ‘The terrperature and humidity are measured and transmited every 4 seconds.
‘The range of the Thermo-Hygro outdoor transmitier may be affected by the temperature. At cold terrperatures the Hransmitting distance may be decreased. Please bear this in mind when placing the transmitter.
868MHz RECEPTION CHECK Ifthe outdoor terrperature and humidity data are not being received within three minutes after setting up (or autdoor display always show “ - -"in the outdoor section of the Weather station during normal operation), please check the following points:
1. The distance ofthe weather station or transmitter should be atleast 1.5 to 2 meters away fromany interfering sources such as computer monitors or TV sets.
2. Avoid positioning the Weather Station onto orin the immediate proximity of metal window frames.
3. Using other electrical products such as headphones or speakers operating on the same signal frequency {86MHz) may prevent correct signal transmission and reception.
4. Neïghbours using electrical devices operating on the B68MHZ signal frequency can also cause interference.
When the 868MH2z signal is received correct, do not re-open the battery cover of either the transmiter or Weather Station, as the batteries may spring free fromithe contacts and force a false reset. Should this happen accidentally then reset all units (see Setting up above) othernise transmission problems may occur.
‘The transmission range is about 100 m fromthe transmitter to the Weather Station (in open space). However, this depends on the surrounding environment and interference levels. 1f no reception is possible despite the observation of these factors, all system units have to be reset (see Setting up).
POSITIONING THE WEATHER STATION: ‘The Weather Station comes attached with removable table stand, which provides the option of table standing or wall mounting the unit. Before wall mounting, please check that the outdoor terrperature and humidity values can be received fromthe desired locations. To well mount. 1. Fixa screw (not supplied) into the desired wall, leaving the head extended out the by o about 5mm 2. Remove the stand fromthe Weather Station by pullng itway fromthe base and hang it ont the screw. Remember to ensure that it locks into place before releasing.
POSITIONING THE THERMO-HYGRO OUTDOOR TRANSMITTER ‘The Transmitter is supplied with a holder that may be attached to a wall with the Bo screws supplied. The Transmitter can also be position on a flat surface by securing [' he stand to the bottomto the Transmitter.
IR To wall mount: 1. Secure the bracket ont a desired wall using the screws and plastic anchors. 2. Clip the remote thermo-hygro transmiter onto the bracket.
Before permanent fixng the transmitter wall base, place all units in the desired locations 1 check that the outdoor terrperature reading is receivable. In event that the signal is not received, relocate the transmitters or move themslightiy as this may help the signal reception.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
+ Extreme temperatures, vibration and shock should be avoided as these may cause damage to the unit and give inaccurate forecasts and readings.
Precautions shall be taken when handling the batteries. Injuries, bus, or property damage may be resulted ifthe batteries are in contact with conducting materials, heat, corrosive materials or explosives. The batteries shall be taken out fromthe unit before the product is to be stored for a long period of time: immediately remove all low powered batteries to avoid leakage and damage. Replace only with new batteries of the recommended type.
When cleaning the display and casings, use a soft darrp cloth only. Do notuse solvents or scouring agents. as they may mark the LCD and casings.
