How do I insert the SIM card?

Turn off the phone, remove the back cover and battery. Slide the SIM card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down. Replace the battery and cover, then turn on the phone.

How can I insert a microSD card?

Remove the back cover and battery. Insert the microSD card into the dedicated slot until it clicks. Replace battery and cover.

How do I charge the battery?

Connect the charger to the phone's micro-USB port and plug it into a wall outlet. The battery indicator shows charging status. Charge for 2–3 hours for full charge.

How can I set the date and time?

Go to Settings > Phone Settings > Date/Time. Use the keypad to enter the date and time, then select Save.

How do I make a call?

Enter the number using the keypad, then press the green call button. To end a call, press the red button.

How can I take a photo?

Open the camera app from the main menu. Point at the subject and press the OK button to capture. Photos are saved in the media gallery.

How do I play FM radio?

Plug in the headset as an antenna, open the radio app, and press OK to start scanning stations. Use arrow keys to change frequency.

What should I do if the phone freezes?

Remove the back cover and battery, wait 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and turn on the phone. This forces a restart.

How can I transfer contacts from another phone?

Save contacts to the SIM card on the old phone, then insert that SIM into the C70. Use the phonebook menu to copy from SIM to phone memory.

How do I clean the phone?

Turn off the phone and remove battery. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid liquids and abrasive cleaners.

Note:

• Use only accessories approved by the phone manufacturer to ensure safety. Failure to comply with this will violate the terms and conditions of the warranty.

Safety

Emergency calls

In any country, you can dial 112 (or other emergency call numbers) for emergency help.

Note:

Based on the nature of mobile networks, the success of the emergency call cannot be guaranteed.

For your safety

• Switch off the phone in hospitals and aircraft. Pay attention to any restrictions. Wireless devices can affect the operation of medical equipment and cause interference in aircraft.
• Some medical devices such as hearing aids and pacemakers may be sensitive to external radio frequency emissions. Consult the device manufacturers or your doctor before using the phone around medical devices.

• Pay special attention to the ring tone volume and vibration settings if you have a heart problem.

- In areas with potentially explosive atmospheres, such as petrol stations and fuel or chemical transfer/storage facilities, observe all signs and instructions.

- You phone will emit radio frequency even in standby mode. Turn off you phone when so instructed.

- Always observe all local laws and regulations. Do not use your phone while driving. Use hands-free operation, if available, and give your full attention to driving and to the road. Pull off the road and park before making or answering a call if driving conditions so require.

- If your phone is lost or stolen, notify your service provider immediately to stop the SIM card from being used.

- When you contact your service provider, they will need your IMEI number. It is printed on the back of your phone (you can find it when you remove your battery) or call *#06# to look up your IMEI number. Copy this number and save it for future reference.

- To protect your phone from misuse, lock your SIM card or phone and change passwords when necessary.

- Do not remove the battery without turning off the phone. Failure to follow this instruction may result in loss of data.

• When you leave your vehicle, take the phone with you or place it in the glove compartment to avoid theft.
• Keep the phone, battery and charger out of the reach of children.

Notes on phone use

• Do not place the phone near magnetic cards and other magnetic objects. The phone’s magnetic field may erase the information stored on floppy disks, pre-paid phone cards and credit cards.
• Using the phone near landlines, televisions, radios and office equipment may cause interference and affect the function of the phone.

- Keep the phone dry; all kinds of liquids can erode the electronic circuits.

- Keep the phone away from extreme temperatures.

- Keep the phone away from hot places where the temperature may exceed 60 °C, such as the dashboard of automobiles, window sills or near fire or lit cigarettes.

- Do not paint the phone.

- Do not drop, crush or violently shake the phone.

- Do not disassemble or modify your phone. This can damage the phone, cause leakage and break the internal circuits.

- Use only a damp cloth or a non-static cloth to clean your phone. Do not use alcohol, thinner, benzene or other chemicals or abrasive cleaners to clean your phone.

• The phone will become warm during normal use and while charging the battery.
• Do not leave the phone with the battery removed or empty for a long period of time. This may cause loss of data.
• The metal parts of the phone may irritate your skin depending on your health condition.
• Do not put the phone in the back pocket. Sitting on the phone may damage it. Do not put the phone on the bottom of a shopping bag. You may crush it.

Notes on battery use

- Do not disassemble or modify your batteries, otherwise it can cause leakage, overheating, fire or explosion.

- Disposing of batteries in a fire can cause fire or explosion. Old batteries should be returned to your dealer or be disposed of according to local regulations. Do not dispose of batteries with household waste.

- Do not short-circuit batteries with wires, needles or other metal objects, or store batteries with necklaces or other metal objects, otherwise it can cause leakage, overheating, fire or explosion.

- There is a risk of eye injury if battery fluid gets into your eyes. In case of this, do not rub your eyes. Rinse your eyes well with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.

- If leaked battery fluid touches the skin, it can cause burns. Wash your skin with plenty of water and seek medical attention immediately.

• Never put batteries in your month. Battery fluid can be toxic.
• Stop using the battery when it becomes very hot and abnormally changes colour or shape during use, charging or storage.

• Always keep batteries dry.

- Do not use or store batteries near heat sources and other places with high temperatures, otherwise it can result in leakage, overheating, fire or explosion. Store batteries in a cool and well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

- Do not charge the battery for more than 24 hours.

- The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. The battery life is shortened with each charging.

- When replacing the batteries, use only the batteries approved by the phone manufacturer. Damage resulting from the use of unsuitable batteries will not be covered by the warranty.

Traffic safety

• Do not use your phone when driving a vehicle. Always give your full attention to driving and to the road. Pull over and stop to use the phone. Always observe traffic regulations.
• Normally, the electronic systems in the vehicle should not be affected by the RF (Radio Frequency) signals from your wireless phone. However, if you suspect any damage resulting from the RF signals from your phone, contact your car dealer. Do not use your car until a qualified technician clears the problem.

- Turn off your phone when in petrol stations or any other place where using wireless equipment is prohibited. Do not place or transport your phone with flammable or explosive substances, as the internal sparks may cause fire.

Safety in aircraft

- Switch off the phone while in an aircraft. Use of the phone in an aircraft could affect safety and possibly violate existing laws. Non-compliance can lead to criminal prosecution or you being rejected as a GSM network user by the service provider.

Inserting the SIM cards

The telephone must be switched off and disconnected from the charger.

On the back of the phone, remove the battery cover by pulling it off with your fingernail in the notch on the upper right side of the phone's battery cover

Should the battery be in the device, please remove it.

3 card slots are available: Micro SD card slot. (up to 16GB) and 2 SIM card slots.

Inserting the Micro SD card

Slide the Micro SD card carefully into the SD Micro SD card slot.

The telephone supports microSD™ or microSDHC™ memory cards up to 16 GB

Charging the Battery

1. Connect the charger to the charging port on the bottom side of the phone.
2. Then plug the charger into a socket.
3. If the telephone is charged while switched on, the battery indicator begins to go up.
4. The battery is fully charged when the battery indicator no longer goes up.
5. Disconnect the charger from the network and from the device when it is no longer needed!

Note: The initial charging of the battery should take at least 12 hours. During the charging, the telephone and charger will become warm. That is completely normal.

Switching the telephone on/off:

1. Press and hold the red key for 1-2 seconds in order to switch on the telephone.

2. If the PIN code is activated, the phone will now prompt you for your PIN code; please enter it and confirm your entry with OK

3. Please select your language and confirm your selection with OK

4. Press and hold the red key for 1-2 seconds in order to switch off the telephone.

Device code

The use of this code can prevent unauthorized persons from using this telephone. The factory default code is: 0000

Lock screen

In order to unlock the keylock, select unlock (left menu button) and press the red key within 2 seconds.

To receive a call with keylock activated, press the green dialling key. When you end or reject the call, the keypad automatically locks again.

Additional functions: Auto. Keylock see in menu item: Settings – Security settings – Auto. Keypad Lock.

Flashlight

In the default screen, press and hold the OK button in order to turn the flashlight on/off.

PIN code

The code from the network operator that is provided with the SIM card prevents the use of the card by

unauthorized persons. You can activate/deactivate or change the PIN code.

Background image

Select your own wallpaper.

In the main menu, select Settings - Display settings - Background image.

Navigate the main menu

In the default screen, press the left “Menu” key or the OK key to access the main menu.

In order to go back a menu level, press the right menu key. To return directly to the default screen, press the red key.

Dedicated keys

Using the navigation key, you can get quick access to frequently used phone functions.

Access telephone functions.

1. In the main menu, select "Settings– Telephone settings – Quick access key" and press OK

2. Select the desired key (navigation keys: up, down, left, right and menu key right)

3. Press "Edit"

4. Select a function from the list and confirm with "OK"

Note: Not all available functions are found in the list.

Make a call

1. In the default screen, enter the phone number including the area code and press the green key.
2. Press the red key or right menu key to end the call.
   Press Delete (right menu key) to delete the number on the left of the cursor

Making a call using the phonebook

If contacts are stored in the phonebook, you can make a call using the phonebook.

1. In the default screen, press the right menu key to get into the phonebook
2. Using the navigation key scroll (up/down) to the desired contact.
3. Press the green key to call the number.
4. Press the red key in order to cancel or end the call.

Calling from the recent calls list

In the recent calls list, the received, dialled, missed and rejected calls are displayed.

1. In the default screen, press the green key to get into the phonebook.
2. Select the call group using the navigation key

3. Select a contact or number using the up and down navigation key.

4. Press the "Options" to receive more information.

5. Press the green key to activate a call.

Note:

If you use two SIM cards, the phone will ask you with which SIM card (SIM1 or SIM2) you want to make the call for outgoing calls.

Answering a call

If you want to pick up the call, press the green key or left menu key.

If you want to reject the call, press the red key or right menu key.

Speed dial

Assign a phone number to a number key (2 to 9).

1. In the main menu, select Phonebook and press OK.
2. Press Options.
3. Select Others and press OK.
4. Select Speed dial and press OK.
5. In the number list, assign a contact from the phone directory.

Long press the desired number (2-9) in the default screen and the assigned number is dialled.

Headset/Bluetooth mode

If a headset is connected to the Micro USB socket (or a Bluetooth Headset), you can answer the call with the button on the headset.

Volume control

During a telephone call, press the navigation key (up or down) to change the volume.

Hands-free

During a telephone call you can turn the hands-free function on/off by pressing the OK key.

Change phone tones

1. In the main menu, select Settings – Profile.
2. Select the profile to be used, press Options and select Settings.

To switch to another profile, select the desired profile and press the OK key. Customized ringtones can be added using a memory card (memory card not included)

Note: In the default screen, you can change between the general, silent modes by pressing the # key

Dual SIM card open/close

1. In the main menu, select Settings – Call settings - Dual-SIM Settings – Standby-Mode

2. Select the SIM card to be activated or deactivated. (SIM1 or SIM2 or flight mode)

Note:

The Menu selection is dependent on the number of SIM cards.

Voicemail server

Voice mail is a network function. If a voice mail has been received, the receipt of a new message will be shown on the display of your telephone.

1. In the main menu, select Messages and press OK".
2. Select Voice mail" and press OK.

3. Press OK to call or edit voice mail.

4. Press Edit to edit or enter your voice mail number.

In the default screen, press and hold number 1 and your telephone will call the corresponding number saved in the voice mail server.

Note: This service must be supported by the network operator.

Phonebook

New contact

In the default screen, press Name. (right menu key).

1. Press the left menu key Options
2. Select Enter new contact and press OK.

3. Select where to save: SIM card(s) or Telephone. SIM storage: Only Name and Number can be saved. Telephone storage: As standard, name, number and group can be saved.

4. To save the contact press the left menu key Save.

Messages

Write messages

1. Select the main menu, Messages and press OK
2. Select Write message
3. Select SMS or MMS and press OK
4. In the first field, select the recipient by pressing the OK key.
5. Enter the text in the second field
6. Press Options, select Send

Note:

If two SIM cards are used, please choose the SIM card that you want to use.

Input method

In write mode, press Hash key (#) to switch between small or capital letters: EN, En, en, 123, pay attention to the Symbol above in the display.

Insert symbol

In write mode, press Star key (*), using the navigation key, select the desired symbol and confirm with OK

Send and receive MMS

With the MMS function, you can send text messages and multimedia content such as pictures or audio files.

Before you can send an MMS, you have to set the MMS settings

1. In the main menu, select Settings – Connections – Network account.

If no data account is available in your network operator, please create a new data account, for more information about MMS data, please contact your network operator

Note:

To send or receive an MMS, you need a memory card. The C70 supports Micro SD cards with a capacity of up to 16GB (not included).

Call history

In the main menu, select Calls.

In the Recent calls list, received, dialled, missed and rejected calls are displayed.

Camera

In the main menu, select Camera.

To take photos, press the OK key.

Important: Use a memory card (Micro SD card up to 16 GB - not included) to save your photos.

Photos

In the main menu, select Picture viewer to display the saved photos (in .Jpg Format). You can also send and receive the photos via Bluetooth and MMS (up to 300kb).

Calendar

In the main menu, select Calendar

Press the navigation key to switch between the days.

You can save Tasks in the calendar.

File manager

In the main menu, select File manager

Use File manager to manage your files and folders in the memory card.

Extras

FM radio

1. In the main menu, select Extras and press OK
2. Select Radio and press OK

You can use the phone as a radio.

To use the radio function, please use a headset.

Bluetooth

1. In the main menu, select Extras – Bluetooth.

With Bluetooth, you can connect your telephone with a compatible Bluetooth device.

Search for Bluetooth audio device

To start a search for another Bluetooth device, proceed as follows:

1. Select Recognized devices – New device and press OK.

2. Select the desired device from the list of found devices and press Pair.

3. If a connection with another Bluetooth device is established, you will require a password for the Bluetooth device.

4. Confirm the password with OK.

Now the telephone will be paired with the Bluetooth device and you will find it in the list of Recognized devices.

Alarm

1. In the main menu, select Extras and press OK
2. Select Alarm and press OK

You can set up to 3 alarms.

Calculator

1. In the main menu, select Extras and press OK
2. Select Calculator and press OK

With this function, you can use your mobile telephone as a pocket calculator. The pocket calculator can perform basic arithmetic functions.

World clock

1. In the main menu, select Extras and press OK
2. Select World time and press OK

Here, you can display capital cities with their respective times.

Settings

In the main menu, select Settings and press OK

You will find the following settings in this menu:

• Call settings (Call forwarding, Call ID, Call barring, etc.)
  • Phone settings (Date, Time, Language, etc.)

Connect the telephone to the computer

To copy the images you have taken with the C70 camera onto your PC, please proceed as follows:

1. Connect the telephone to the computer using a Micro USB cable. (not included)
2. Then a menu is displayed on the telephone, select "Removal disk" and confirm with "OK"
3. The computer will recognize the telephone as removable media.
4. Now you can manage the data using Windows Explorer.

Troubleshooting

The phone cannot be turned on:

Check whether the battery is correctly inserted into the telephone.

Check the battery status, charge the battery for 24hrs, and if necessary, replace it (6 months' warranty).

SIM card error:

Dirt on the contact areas of the SIM card? Clean the contact areas of the SIM card.

SIM card is not inserted properly, insert the SIM card correctly.

SIM card does not function or is damaged? Get your SIM card checked by your network operator.

Network connection cannot be made:

Bad reception? Move to an open space or if you are in an enclosed space, near the window.

You are out of range of the mobile network. For information about coverage, please contact your network operator.

SIM card is invalid. Contact your service provider.

Bad voice quality:

Poor network connection quality on the part of the network provider? Press the end key and select again.

You may be routed to a network connection or phone line with better quality.

Outgoing calls cannot be made:

Check the phone number and try again.

Have you activated call barring? If so, please disable all call barring.

Check whether the SIM card is registered on the network.

Check whether enough credit is on your SIM card.

You do not receive incoming calls:

Check whether the SIM card is registered on the network.

Check whether the phone is turned on.

Check the signal strength

Have you activated call barring? If so, please disable all call barring.

Display is black:

Check the battery status, charge the battery for 24hrs or, if necessary, replace it (6 months warranty). Check the background image.

Blocked PIN:

Check whether the PIN code was entered correctly. If the PIN code has been entered incorrectly 3x, the SIM card is locked and you will need the PUK code:

(Please contact your network operator for your PUK code).

I do not hear the other caller

Check the volume settings.

Try restoring the factory settings.

Briefly remove the battery and restart the device

I cannot receive or send MMS.

Check the MMS settings in the menu: Settings – Connections - Network account.

You are out of range of the mobile network. For information about coverage, please contact your network operator.

SIM card is invalid.
