How do I install the Blaupunkt BP 3.1A dash cam?

Clean the windshield and attach the suction mount. Press the device onto the mount. Route the power cable to the cigarette lighter. Adjust the lens angle. Insert a microSD card (up to 32GB) before use. Ensure the card is formatted in the device settings.

How do I format the microSD card?

Go to the settings menu. Select 'Format SD Card'. Confirm. Back up important files before formatting. The card must be Class 10 or higher for reliable recording.

What power source should I use?

Use the included 5V USB car charger. Do not use a computer USB port as it may not provide enough power. For parking mode, a hardwire kit (not included) is recommended.

How to enable parking mode?

Parking mode requires a hardwire kit to detect battery voltage. Connect the kit to the fuse box. In device settings, enable 'Parking Mode'. The camera will automatically start recording on impact or motion when the car is off.

Why is my video footage blurry?

Clean the lens with a soft cloth. Ensure the lens is not smudged. Check if the windshield is clean. Also, the resolution might be set low; set to 1080p in settings. If blur persists, the lens may be misaligned.

How do I playback recorded videos?

Press the 'Playback' button on the device. Use the directional buttons to select files. Alternatively, remove the microSD card and use a computer. Videos are in MOV format and can be played with VLC or similar.

Can I use the BP 3.1A as a rear camera?

The BP 3.1A is designed as a front-facing dash cam. It has a single lens and does not support rear camera input. For rear coverage, consider a dedicated rear camera or a dual-channel model.

How to update the firmware?

Download the latest firmware from the Blaupunkt website. Copy the .bin file to a formatted microSD card. Insert the card into the device while off. Power on; update starts automatically. Do not remove power during update.

What to do if the device overheats?

Remove from direct sunlight. Turn off the device and let it cool. Ensure the vent is not blocked. If overheating occurs frequently, lower the video resolution or reduce recording time. Avoid using in temperatures above 60°C.

How to reset the dash cam?

Press the reset button with a paper clip. Alternatively, go to settings and select 'Factory Reset'. This will erase all settings and files. Back up important clips beforehand.

- Please insert the micro SD card in the right direction to avoid damage to the card or the device. If the device shows an error message, please format the micro SD card from the device menu. Please reset the device or change the micro SD card if similar errors continue.

Note: All files will be deleted when formatting the micro SD card. Please back up important files before formatting. When the reset function is selected, the device will return to default settings.

- Blaupunkt does not warrant the performance of the device if used with Micro SD cards other than Blaupunkt Micro SD cards.

- New Micro SD cards must be formatted for first use.

- Ensure the bracket is installed correctly and firmly on the windscreen to avoid damage to the device and to ensure a better recording angle.

- Please do not use the product in wet environments, as the device is not waterproof or water-resistant.

- Please do not record or take pictures facing direct sunlight.

- To obtain clear images, please clean the windscreen and device lens regularly. Avoid using the device in dusty environments.

- Handle the device with care and avoid direct impact on the device. Avoid using the device in high electromagnetic environments.

- The operating temperature of the device is -20°C to 70°C, and the storage temperature is -30°C to 80°C. Continuous exposure to sunlight, especially when locked in a cabin where

the temperature exceeds 80°C, may result in device malfunction, color change, housing and image distortion.

Mobile App device OS version requirements: Android 4.4 (KitKat) or higher.

Pair DVR with Android Smartphone (DVR Firmware ver 1.1.604 or higher)

The distance range between the DVR (with Wireless Control dongle) and smartphone is approximately 10 meters (33ft) in an open field environment.

1. DVR (Ensure Wireless dongle is installed on the DVR USB port):

a. At video display mode, tap screen to display Main Menu. b. Select MENU to enter into menu page. c. Then select SYSTEM SET. d. Then select Wi-Fi to turn on Wi-Fi.

Enter BP9.0A app from the smartphone, select "START" at Home Page (Figure 1). Smartphone will connect to DVR's Wi-Fi automatically

Cut-off Voltage Setting

1. Setting on LCD Screen: Menu > System Set > Cut Off Voltage
2. Setting on Wireless Control App: Configuration > Cut-Off Voltage

With the configuration on LCD screen or Wireless Control App, set the voltage level to cut off automatically in order to prevent vehicle battery drainage. The device will stop the discharge of the vehicle battery by blocking power supply to the DVR if the voltage drops below a configured value.

NOTE:

Older files will be overwritten whenever the card memory is full and new storage space is required. Backup recordings regularly to prevent important files from being overwritten.
