1 Introduction

You have gained a high-quality product from SILVERCREST with the purchase of this neck massager. This appliance is intended for massaging the neck and shoulder area. To derive the most success and to enjoy your SILVERCREST neck massager for a very long time, we recommend that you read the following information on the use and care of the appliance carefully.
2 Proper use
Your neck massage cushion is a state-of-the-art device for genuine shiatsu-style neck and shoulder massages. The massage can be enhanced with heat treatment. The red light relieves tension in the neck and shoulder muscles. The combination of intensive shiatsu massage and radiated heat makes the massage cushion an effective and relaxing treatment.
The device is not to be used for commercial use or medical purposes.
3 Safety Instructions

3.3 Power supply
- Before connecting the device to your power supply, ensure that the supply voltage stated on the rating plate is compatible with your mains supply.
- Only insert the power supply unit into a socket when the appliance is switched off.
- Only use the power supply unit supplied with the massager.
- Keep the power supply unit, cable, and appliance well away from heat, hot surfaces, moisture, and liquids.
- Do not touch the power supply unit when you are standing in water, and always take hold of the plug with dry hands.
- Do not take hold of a device if it falls into water. Pull out the power plug and the power supply unit from the socket immediately.
- Always switch off the appliance after use with the buttons on the control unit and unplug the power supply unit.
- To disconnect the unit from the power supply, always pull the plug out of the socket. Do not pull on the cable!
- Do not carry, pull, or twist the device by the cable or the power supply unit.
- You must not continue to use the unit if the lead or the mains adaptor are damaged. For safety reasons, these parts may only be replaced by authorized service personnel. In order to prevent hazards, always send the unit in to the service centre.
- Ensure that the cable will not cause tripping. The cable must not be kinked, trapped or twisted.
3.4 About specific groups of people
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Do not use this unit to supplement or replace medical treatment. Chronic complaints and symptoms may be made worse.
- Do not use the massager, or only after consulting your doctor, if:
- you are pregnant,
- you have a cardiac pacemaker, artificial joints or electronic implants,
- you suffer from one or more of the following illnesses and complaints: Circulation disorders, varicose veins, open wounds, bruises, broken skin, inflammation of the veins.
- Do not use the appliance near your eyes or near any other sensitive areas.
- If you experience any pain or discomfort during the massage, stop immediately and consult your doctor. Take care when using the heating function. The appliance has hot surfaces.
- Do not use the appliance on small children, vulnerable individuals or people who are not sensitive to heat.
Before using the massager, consult your doctor regarding any unexplained pain, if you are undergoing medical treatment or using medical equipment.
3.5 Before using the unit
- Check the power supply unit, cable and massager carefully for damage before each use. Do not attempt to use a defective unit.
- Do not use the appliance if it, or the power cord show signs of damage, if it is not in perfect working order, or if it has been dropped or become damp. In order to prevent hazards, always send the unit in to the service centre.
3.6 Operating the Unit

The device is not intended for commercial or medical use. If you have health concerns, consult your doctor before using the device.

Only use the massager indoors.

Do not use the massager in damp rooms (e.g., when bathing or showering).
- The device must only be used for its intended purpose as described in the instruction manual. Using the mat for any other purpose invalidates the warranty.
- Do not use the appliance while you are asleep or when lying in bed.
- Do not use the appliance before going to sleep. The massage has a stimulating effect.
- Never use the appliance while driving a vehicle or operating a machine.
- The maximum operating time for one session is 15 minutes. Prolonged use reduces the service life of the appliance.
- Very long periods of use can lead to overheating. Always allow the appliance to cool down before using it again.
- Never place the unit next to an electric stove or other sources of heat.
- Never leave the unit unattended if it is connected to the power supply.
- Do not allow the massage cushion to come into contact with pointed or sharp objects.
- Do not cover the appliance when it is switched on. Never use it under blankets or cushions. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.
3.7 About Maintenance and Cleaning
- The unit is maintenance free. If a fault does occur, just check whether the mains power adapter is properly connected.
- You may only clean the device yourself. If the device malfunctions, please do not repair it yourself as this leads to the automatic expiry of all rights. Ask your specialist supplier and have repairs carried out by the service.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Do not immerse the device in water or other fluids.
- If, nonetheless, liquid should penetrate the device, unplug the mains cable immediately.
- Easy-care and hygienic with removable cover – washable at 30°C (hand wash).

4 Items supplied and Packaging
Please check first of all that the device is complete and is not damaged in any way. In case of doubt, do not use it and contact your supplier or your service centre.

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your supplier without delay.

WARNING
Please ensure that the polythene packing is kept away from the reach of children! Risk of suffocation!
5 Operating
5.1 Start-up
The massage cushion has two functions for effective treatment: fingertip massage and heat. The heat function can also be used without the shiatsu massage.
- Place the neck massage cushion ① on the back of a high-backed chair and fasten it to the back with the strap.
- Sit on the chair and check that the cushion is in the position you want.
- Connect the power unit ⑧ and the massage cushion and plug in the power unit to the mains. Ensure that the power supply is easily accessible.
- Use the buttons on the control unit ③ to operate the massage cushion.
Do not use the unit for more than 15 minutes. After approx. 15 minutes, the unit will switch off automatically. Always allow the unit to cool down fully before you use it again.
5.2 Switching on and operating the unit
- Switch on the device by pressing Ein/Aus button ④. The blue power LED illuminates.
- Press the button 6 to activate the massage function with outward rotation. The blue LED lights up. To change the direction of rotation, press the button 5. The LED goes out and the LED lights up blue. To switch off the massage function, press the button you last pressed (5 or 6) again. The massage can also be started in the other direction.
- The heat function can be activated at any time with the shiatsu massage. Press the Heat button ⑦ to activate the function; the red LED lights up. The heat is radiated through the massage heads ②. Press the Heat button ⑦ again to deactivate the heat function; the red LED goes out.

NOTE
The massage intensity declines when the heat function is switched on.
5.3 To switch off the device
- Press the On/Off button ④. The blue power LED goes out.
- After each use, switch the device off using the On/Off button ④ and remove the power unit from the mains socket.
6 Cleaning and Maintenance
- Before cleaning the appliance, make sure that the appliance is switched off and the power supply unit is disconnected. Allow the unit to cool down.
- Clean the neck massager with a slightly damp sponge only. Never use brushes, aggressive cleaning agents, petrol, thinners or alcohol. Rub the seat dry with a clean dry cloth.
- Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it and ensure water cannot get into the appliance.
- Wait until the device is completely dry before using it again.
- The removable cover can be washed at a maximum of 30°C.
- Undo any kinks in the cable. • Take care when rolling up the mains lead to avoid damaging it.
- You should ideally store the device in its original packaging and keep it in a clean, dry place.
7 Disposal

This product must not be disposed of together with domestic waste.
All users are obliged to hand in all electrical or electronic devices, regardless of whether or not they contain toxic substances, at a municipal or commercial collection point so that they can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.
Consult your local authority or your supplier for information about disposal.

9 Warranty and repair conditions
9.1 Medisana AG warranty
Dear Customer,
A warranty on this device is provided which is valid for 3 years from the date of purchase. Should this product be defective, you can assert your legal rights against the retailer. These legal rights are not affected by our warranty, which is described in the following.
9.2 Processing a warranty claim
To ensure your request is processed quickly, please observe the following information:
- Should functional errors or other faults occur, please start by contacting the service point specified in the following by telephone or by e-mail.
- Please keep your receipt and the item number IAN 102534 on hand as proof of purchase.
- A product which has been registered as defective can be sent, without postage, to the Service address given to you by the Service point. You must enclose proof of purchase (receipt) and details about the defect and when it occurred.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period begins with the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt. This document is required for proof of purchase.
If a material or production fault occurs in this product within three years of the date of purchase, the product will be repaired for you free of charge, or replaced – at our discretion. This warranty service requires that the defective device and the proof of purchase (receipt) are sent in, along with a brief description of what the defect is and when it occurred, within the three-year period. If the defect is covered by our warranty, the product will be returned to you as a repaired product or a new product. No new warranty period begins upon repair or replacement.
Any damage and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Once the warranty period has expired, you will be billed for any repairs required.
Scope of warranty
The warranty service applies for material or production faults. This warranty does not extend to product components subject to normal wear and can therefore be considered to be wearing parts, e. g. batteries, sleeves, rechargeable batteries, or damage to fragile parts, e. g. switches or parts made of glass.
This warranty expires if the product is damaged, has not been used properly, or was subject to maintenance work. To ensure the product is used properly, all instructions included in the operating manual must be complied with exactly. Using the product for purposes or procedures which the operating manual discourages or warns against must be avoided.
The product is intended for private use only and not for commercial use. If the product is subject to improper and inappropriate treatment, the use of force, or service work which is not carried out by our authorised service office, the warranty will be voided.
