General Safety Instructions

Children or persons (including children) who lack the knowledge or experience to use the device or whose physical, sensory or intellectual capacities are limited must never be allowed to use the device without supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product.

Do not use the device if damaged.

Do not expose the device to

Protect the unit from moisture and humidity. Never immerse the device in water or other liquids! Batteries are not intended for children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD!

  • Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries and do not short-circuit and/or open any batteries. Never throw batteries into fire or water!
  • Do not exert mechanical loads on batteries!

RISK OF BATTERY LEAKAGE!

In the event of a battery leak, immediately remove it from the device to prevent damage! Avoid contact with the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes! In the event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with clean water and seek immediate medical attention!

Only use the same type of batteries! Do not mix used and new batteries! Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which may impact batteries, e.g., radiators! Remove batteries from the device after extended periods of non-use! Risk of equipment damage.

Use only the recommended battery type! When inserting the battery ensure the correct polarity! This is indicated in the battery compartment. If necessary, clean the batteries and device contacts before inserting the batteries! Promptly remove drained batteries from the product!

Before Initial Use

Inserting the batteries

Open the battery cover 17 by sliding it in the direction of the arrow. Insert the included batteries. Ensure correct polarity. This is always indicated inside the battery compartment (Fig. B).

- Connecting headphones

Plug the stereo jack of the included headphones into the radio's headphones jack 16. Only use the included headphones. The headphones connection cable also serves as a radio aerial.

● Preparing for Use

- Switching on

☐ Turn the volume control 15 counter-clockwise to switch the radio on and to increase the signal volume.

☐ Turn the volume control clockwise to lower the signal volume. Turning it all the way counter-clockwise will switch the radio off.

- Channel scan

Note: Stations can only be scanned with the included headphones plugged into the headphones jack 16. The headphones cable also serves as a radio aerial. The radio does not have any additional internal speakers.

☐ Press the SCAN button 6. The radio will start scanning for stations and stop when the first station is found.

- Keep pressing the SCAN button until the radio has found a station of your liking. This search can be repeated until the end of the radio frequency is reached.

☐ To then scan from the start of the frequency range again, simply press the RESET button 7.

- Adjusting the time

Note: the clock will only be displayed with the radio switched off and can only be set with the radio off.

☐ Press and hold the TIME button 5 whilst adjusting the clock. □ Briefly press the HOUR button 11 to increase the hour display little by little. The clock features a 12 hour display. The PM sign 1 indicates the time past noon. ☐ Briefly press the MIN button 10 to increase the minute display little by little.

Note: neither the hour nor the minutes can be rewound. Once the highest value has been reached the numbers will restart.

Note: holding the HOUR or MIN button will continuously increase the display.

Once the desired time has been set, release the TIME button. The clock is now set.

- Setting the alarm

Hold the ALARM button 8 while setting the time. Briefly press the HOUR button 11 to increase the hour display little by little. The clock features a 12-hour display. The PM sign 1 indicates the time past noon.

Briefly press the MIN button 10 to increase the minute display little by little.

Note: neither the hour nor the minutes can be rewound. Once the highest value has been reached, the numbers will restart.

Once the desired time has been set, release the ALARM button.

Press the AL ON button 9 to switch the alarm on or off. The alarm symbol 3 will appear in the display when the alarm is activated. At the set time, an audio signal will now sound for 3 minutes.

Press the AL ON button to switch the audible signal off.

- Replacing batteries

The radio does not feature a visual low battery indicator. However, if the radio reception begins to fade, the batteries need to be replaced. Follow these steps:

Switch the radio off by turning the ON-/OFF turn switch 15 all the way counter-clockwise.

Open the battery cover 17 by sliding it in the direction of the arrow.

Remove the current batteries and insert new batteries. Ensure correct polarity. This is always indicated inside the battery compartment (Fig. B).

Close the battery compartment. Your radio is now again ready for use.

Note: this device has electronic components. Therefore, interference may occur when it is near devices, which transmit radio signals. If error messages appear in the display, remove these devices from the proximity of the product. In the event of such malfunctions, remove the batteries briefly and reinsert them.

Note: Electrostatic discharge can lead to disruptions in the function. If you have such a functional disruption, remove the battery for a short time and then replace it again.

Cleaning and Care

Never use liquids or cleaning agents as these will damage the device. Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth.
