Frequently Asked Questions - WE 2300 SILVERCREST

How do I set the alarm on my SilverCrest WE 2300 radio?
Press the ALARM button repeatedly until the desired alarm number (1 or 2) is shown. Press SET to enter hour and minute using the + / - buttons. Choose wake-up source (BUZZER or RADIO) by pressing ALARM again. Confirm with SET. The alarm icon will appear on the display.
My WE 2300 is not picking up any DAB stations. What should I do?
Ensure the telescopic antenna is fully extended. Go to DAB mode and perform an Auto Scan (press and hold the SCAN button for 3 seconds). If no stations are found, try relocating the radio near a window or in a higher position. Weak signals in some areas may require an external DAB antenna.
Can I use the radio on batteries? How long do they last?
Yes, the WE 2300 can be powered by 4 type C (UM-2) batteries (not included). Battery life depends on volume level: at moderate volume, you can expect approximately 20-30 hours of continuous use. Using the alarm and display backlight will reduce battery life.
How do I set the sleep timer?
Press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through the timer durations: 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 minutes, and OFF. The radio will automatically turn off after the selected time. To cancel, press SLEEP again until OFF appears.
The clock display is permanently dim. How can I adjust the brightness?
Press the DIMMER button (located on the top or side of the unit) to cycle through brightness levels: High, Medium, Low, and Off (may vary by model). The setting is saved and will remain until changed again.
I forgot the alarm settings and it didn't go off. How do I check the alarm?
Press the ALARM button once to see the settings for Alarm 1, twice for Alarm 2. The display will show the set time and wake-up source. Make sure the alarm icon (bell) is visible; if not, the alarm is disabled. Press ALARM longer to toggle it on/off.
Can I connect headphones to the radio?
Yes, the SilverCrest WE 2300 has a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the left side. When headphones are plugged in, the built-in speaker is muted automatically. Ensure the volume is low before first use to avoid hearing damage.
The radio keeps losing the time and alarm settings after a power outage. Why?
The radio has a CR2032 backup battery (coin cell) inside the battery compartment. If it is dead or missing, time and alarm data are lost. Replace the coin cell with a new CR2032 battery (positive side up) to maintain settings during power interruptions.
How do I manually tune to an FM station?
Press the MODE button to select FM. Use the + / - buttons to step through frequencies manually. Press and hold + or - to start an automatic seek. To save a station, press and hold a preset number (1-20) for 2 seconds.
What is the warranty on the WE 2300?
The SilverCrest WE 2300 comes with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. To claim, keep the original receipt. The warranty covers manufacturing defects but not damage caused by misuse, third-party accessories, or normal wear. Contact SilverCrest customer service for support.
