- Protect from moisture: Never subject this product to moisture or extreme temperatures. Do not expose it to dripping or splashing water. Do not use the product near water (bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool) or in a damp basement.
- Protect the power cord: Do not kink, bend, squash or damage the cord of the power adaptor and protect it from sharp edges and heat. Ensure nothing is placed upon or against the cord. It is always best to have a clear area from where the cord exits the unit to where it is plugged into a wall outlet. Run the cord in such a way that there will be no risk of anyone pulling it inadvertently, tripping over it or stepping on it.
- Damaged cord: If the electric cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service agent.
- Disconnect: To prevent damage to the product due to lightning strikes and powerline surges, switch the product off and unplug it from the wall outlet

CAUTION
- Before using the Deep Fryer, make sure you know how it functions and how to operate it.
- Never use the appliance near curtains, walls, under cupboards or near other flammable materials.
- Never operate the Deep Fryer without oil or liquid fat as this will damage the appliance. This Deep Fryer is not suitable for use with solid fats as these may contain water.
• The appliance housing can become very hot during use, take special care.

WARNING!
- Never add water to the oil!
- Do not touch hot surfaces, use handles or knobs.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving the Deep Fryer if it contains hot oil or other liquids.
• Always keep lid closed while the Deep Fryer is cooking food. Use basket handle to raise and lower basket.
- BEWARE OF HOT STEAM WHEN OPENING LID.
- Wet food should be dried first with paper towels. Remove loose ice from frozen foods. Close the lid before food is lowered into the oil and while frying. Beware of oil splattering when food is put into the oil.
- Be sure the oil container is filled to at least the minimum oil level. Do not fill above the maximum. Do not operate appliance without oil or with an insufficient amount of oil. Never pour oil into heated oil container.
- Do not operate this appliance if the lid, the basket and the oil container are not completely dry.
- Do not leave appliance unattended while in use. Always disconnect it from the power outlet.

- Always ensure that hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
- A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
-
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
-
The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord; and:
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other 10).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
The cord attachment at the base of the fryer is a magnetic connection designed to release quickly. This is to prevent a child or an impaired person from pulling the cord.
"This Side Up" indicates the correct position, the power cable should be inserted into the fryer.
Very little pressure is required when making this connection.
DO NOT force the plug into the socket.
- Always attach the breakaway cord to appliance first, then plug into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the thermostat to the 'MIN' position, then remove plug from wall outlet.

Other Useful Information
Useful Hints for use
• Always remove the food remaining in the oil (e.g. pieces of French fries).
- Use high quality frying oil or frying grease.
- Do not use margarine, olive oil or butter, because they start to smoke at low temperatures.
• Liquid frying oil is recommended.
- All oils have a “smoke point” at a specific temperature. At the “smoke point,” the oil begins to break down and can have a foul odor or taste. The following oils have a high “smoke point” and are safe to use for deep frying: peanut, canola, corn, grape seed, safflower, sunflower and vegetable. Each kind of oil has a unique taste and nutrient makeup but all are safe to use for deep-frying.
- In order to reduce the acrylamide content of food containing starch (potatoes, cereals) the temperature during deep-fat frying should not exceed 340°F for a longer time. The frying time should be kept as short as possible and the food only fried until it turns golden yellow.
- Choose the right frying temperature and check the conditions of the food to be fried. A rule of thumb is that pre-fried foods require a higher temperature than raw foods.
- Due to their extremely low temperature, frozen foods inevitably lower the temperature of the oil. For best results, do not overload the basket with frozen foods.
- Follow the instructions on page 15 for approximate cooking times and temperatures.
- Frozen foods are frequently covered with a coating of ice crystals, which should be removed before frying. Lower the basket very slowly into the oil in order to ensure that oil does not boil over.
- When frying dough-like foods, scrape off the excess dough.
WARNING: Please note this important information if you intend to use fat!
- If you use fat, please divide it up into small pieces. Turn the thermostat to a low temperature and add the pieces slowly. Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level is reached you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat.
- Under no circumstances should you place fat in the frying basket.
Approximate Cooking Times
| Food Type Temperature(°F) | Weight(g) | Time(min) | |
| Whole shrimp 265 °F 200 3-5 | |||
| Mushrooms 300 °F 300 4-6 | |||
| Fillets 300 °F 300 5-7 | |||
| Crumbed chicken 340 °F 250 12-14 | |||
| Fish cakes 340 °F 300 3-5 | |||
| Onions 375 °F 350 2-4 | |||
| French fries 375 °F 400 8-10 | |||
| Potato chips 375 °F 400 3-6 | |||
Note: Use this chart as a guide to deep frying times. Frying times may vary because of food temperature, quantity and size of pieces. Best results are obtained when food is cooked in small batches and size of pieces is uniform. When frying larger amounts, keep in mind that the food must be completely covered with cooking oil/fat after the frying basket has been lowered.

WARNING!
The deep fat frying basket must not be more than 2/3 FULL.
Making home-made French Fries
You will need: Potatoes, salt and freshly ground pepper.
TIP: Use vegetable or peanut oil for best results.
- Heat oil in the Deep Fryer to 340 °F.
- Cut the potatoes into uniform French Fry sticks (about 0.2 x 0.2 inch).
- Dry the potato sticks completely and thoroughly.
- Add the potato sticks into the basket and fry in small batches. Cook for approx. 3 minutes, remove and drain on layers of paper towels.
- Increase the oil temperature to 375° F.
- Add the potato sticks to the basket and fry in small batches for a second time for approx. 4 minutes.
- Once they are golden and crispy, remove the French Fries and drain on fresh layers of paper towels.
- Season to taste and serve immediately.
Responsible Disposal
At the end of its working life, do not throw this device out with your household trash. Electrical and electronic products contain substances that can have a detrimental effect on the environment and human health if disposed of inappropriately. Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electric products and dispose of it appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on disposal/recycling facilities in your area.
Discard old oil
If the oil is clouded or if the oil starts to foam or has a foul odor, taste, or smell, discard it. DO NOT pour oil down the sink. Oil will cool with water in the drain and congeal causing backups in your sink, septic system, or public sewer system. Oil can also be damaging to the environment. Oil can spread very thinly across water over a very large area changing the chemistry and health of the ecosystem. Thus, do not dispose the oil near lakes, streams, or watersheds.
The safest way to dispose of oil is by pouring it into a sealable metal container such as a coffee can, or gallon milk jug. Used cooking oil can also be recycled in some areas. If there is a recycle drop-off point in your area, check it to see if they will accept your oil so it could become useful again.
