READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS
Read this manual thoroughly before first use, even if you are familiar with this type of product. The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and carton. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical appliance, including the following:
Electrical safety and cord handling
- Voltage: Before plugging in the power adaptor, make sure your outlet voltage and circuit frequency correspond to the voltage stated on the product rating label.
- Wall socket: Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. When the adaptor is plugged into the power supply, make sure the wall socket is easily accessible so it can be readily unplugged.
- Do not immerse: To protect against fire and electric shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, power adaptor or the product itself in water or other liquid.
- Protect from moisture: Never subject this product to moisture or extreme temperatures. Do not expose it to dripping or splashing water. Do not use the product near water (bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool) or in a damp basement.
- Protect the power cord: Do not kink, bend, squash or damage the cord of the power adaptor and protect it from sharp edges and heat. Ensure nothing is placed upon or against the cord. It is always best to have a clear area from where the cord exits the unit to where it is plugged into a wall outlet. Run the cord in such a way that there will be no risk of anyone pulling it inadvertently, tripping over it or stepping on it.
- Damaged cord: If the electric cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service agent.
- Disconnect: To prevent damage to the product due to lightning strikes and powerline surges, turn the thermostat to the 'MIN' position and unplug it from the wall outlet during lightning storms and when the product is not going to be used for an extended period of time. Grip the plug when disconnecting, do not pull the cord. To disconnect, ensure the Deep Fryer is switched off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.
Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.

The cord attachment at the base of the fryer is a magnetic connection designed to release quickly. This is to prevent a child or an impaired person from pulling the cord.
"This Side Up" indicates the correct position, the power cable should be inserted into the fryer.
Very little pressure is required when making this connection.

DO NOT force the plug into the socket.
- Always attach the breakaway cord to appliance first, then plug into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the thermostat to the 'MIN' position, then remove plug from wall outlet.
Usage conditions and restrictions
- Attachments: Do not use attachments that are not recommended by the product manufacturer or distributor.
- Adjustments: Only use and adjust controls and perform procedures as specified in this manual. Any other adjustments or procedures may expose you to danger and void your warranty.
- Usage restriction: This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children: Supervise young children to ensure they do not play with the product - Installation and use: Improper use or installation may result in the risk of fire, electric shock and/or injury. We assume no liability for any eventual damages caused by improper use or incorrect handling.
Safe usage
- Location: Place the product on a straight, rigid, stable and heat-resistant surface, away from sources of direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- Prevent overheating: Place the product in a sufficiently aerated place, allowing at least 8 inch clearance at the back and top of the product and 8 inch on both sides.
- Keep away from heat: Do not place the product near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances that produce heat.
- Prevent damage: Do not place the product near other items that may damage it, such as naked flame sources (lit candles) or objects containing water (a vase or fish bowl).
- Before using the Deep Fryer, make sure you know how it functions and how to operate it.
- Never use the appliance near curtains, walls, under cupboards or near other flammable materials.
- Never operate the Deep Fryer without oil or liquid fat as this will damage the appliance. This Deep Fryer is not suitable for use with solid fats as these may contain water.
- The appliance housing can become very hot during use, take special care.
- Do not touch hot surfaces, use handles or knobs.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving the Deep Fryer if it contains hot oil or other liquids.
- Always keep lid closed while the Deep Fryer is cooking food. Use basket handle and basket release switch to raise and lower basket. Always raise basket out of hot oil to allow food to drain for 10-20 seconds before opening lid.
- BEWARE OF HOT STEAM WHEN OPENING LID.
- Wet food should be dried first with paper towels. Remove loose ice from frozen foods. Close the lid before food is lowered into the oil and while frying. Beware of oil splattering when food is put into the oil.
- Be sure the oil container is filled to at least the minimum oil level. Do not fill above the maximum. Do not operate appliance without oil or with an insufficient amount of oil. Never pour oil into heated oil container.
- Do not operate this appliance if the lid, the basket and the oil container are not completely dry.
- Do not leave appliance unattended while in use. Always disconnect it from the power outlet.
- Maintain the appliance in accordance with the instructions to ensure that it functions properly.
- Never use this appliance for anything other than its intended use. This appliance is for household use only. Do not use this appliance outdoors.
- Never operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Do not use the appliance if it has been dropped or if there are any visible signs of damage.
- Always ensure that hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
- A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord; and:
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
- Oils and fats may burn when overheated. Please be careful! Do not forget to switch the device off after use! Turn the thermostat to the 'MIN' position and then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
- Immediately unplug the appliance if fire or smoke is emitted.
• Never add water to the oil.
• NEVER use water to extinguish the fire! - Using water can cause flaming oil to splatter and spread. A kitchen fire extinguisher or covering the fryer with a metal lid is the best way to put out a grease fire.
Care and cleaning
- WARNING: Always unplug the Deep Fryer from the electrical outlet and allow the parts to cool completely before storing the unit or disassembling it for cleaning.
- CAUTION: DO NOT use abrasive cleaners of any kind on any part of your Deep Fryer. Abrasive cleaners or cleaning tools can damage plastic and metal parts.
• NOTE: The Deep Fryer does not have any dishwasher-safe components.
- DO NOT immerse the Deep Fryer or cord in water or any other liquid.
- Clean the deep frying oil container, the lid and the housing with a damp cloth and household detergent if necessary. Dry thoroughly.
- The deep frying basket can be cleaned in the usual way in soapy water.
- The oil does not need to be changed after each use. In general, the oil will be tainted rather quickly when frying food containing a lot of protein (such as poultry, meat or fish). When oil is mainly used to fry potatoes and it is filtered after each use, it can be used 8 to 10 times. However, do not use the oil for longer than 6 months as old or dirty fats and oils can spontaneously ignite if overheated.
- In order to change the oil, detach the lid and pour oil out from the oil container.
- Please refer to the 'Responsible Disposal' section on how to discard old oil responsibly.
To remove the replaceable filters:
Your Deep Fryer is equipped with replaceable filters that help to prevent odors.
With time, the odor filters placed inside the lid lose their effectiveness and need to be replaced. A change of color from white to brown in the filter shows that they need to be changed. Replace filters after approximately 60 uses.
Please contact our after sales support for replacement filters.
- To replace the filters, remove the plastic filter cover by pressing the hook in the direction of the viewing window, then raise it.
- Insert the new black filter first with the new white filter on top.
- The filter cover must be placed over the black filter again.

Other Useful Information
Useful Hints for use
• Always remove the food remaining in the oil (e.g. pieces of French fries).
- Use high quality frying oil or frying grease.
- Do not use margarine, olive oil or butter, because they start to smoke at low temperatures.
• Liquid frying oil is recommended.
- All oils have a “smoke point” at a specific temperature. At the “smoke point,” the oil begins to break down and can have a foul odor or taste. The following oils have a high “smoke point” and are safe to use for deep frying: peanut, canola, corn, grape seed, safflower, sunflower and vegetable. Each kind of oil has a unique taste and nutrient makeup but all are safe to use for deep-frying.
- In order to reduce the acrylamide content of food containing starch (potatoes, cereals) the temperature during deep-fat frying should not exceed 340° F for a longer time. The frying time should be kept as short as possible and the food only fried until it turns golden yellow.
- Choose the right frying temperature and check the conditions of the food to be fried. A rule of thumb is that pre-fried foods require a higher temperature than raw foods.
- Due to their extremely low temperature, frozen foods inevitably lower the temperature of the oil. For best results, do not overload the basket with frozen foods.
- Follow the instructions on the frozen food package for cooking time and temperature.
- Frozen foods are frequently covered with a coating of ice crystals, which should be removed before frying. Lower the basket very slowly into the oil in order to ensure that oil does not boil over.
- When frying dough-like foods, scrape off the excess dough.
WARNING: Please note this important information if you intend to use fat!
- If you use fat, please divide it up into small pieces. Turn the thermostat to a low temperature and add the pieces slowly. Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level is reached you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat.
• Under no circumstances should you place fat in the frying basket.
Approximate Cooking Times
| Food Cooking Time Oil Temperature | |
| Shrimps 4 - 6 minutes 265 °F | |
| Fish Fillets 3 - 5 minutes 300 °F | |
| Turkey 3 - 5 minutes per pound 340 °F | |
| French Fries 13 - 12 minutes 375 °F |
Note: Use this chart as a guide to deep frying times. Frying times may vary because of food temperature, quantity and size of pieces. Best results are obtained when food is cooked in small batches and size of pieces is uniform. When frying larger amounts, keep in mind that the food must be completely covered with cooking oil/fat after the frying basket has been lowered.
Making home-made French Fries
You will need: Potatoes, salt and freshly ground pepper.
TIP: Use vegetable or peanut oil for best results.
- Heat oil in the Deep Fryer to 320°F.
- Cut the potatoes into uniform French Fry sticks (about 0.2 x 0.2 inch).
- Dry the potato sticks completely and thoroughly.
- Add the potato sticks into the basket and fry in small batches. Cook for approx. 3 minutes, remove and drain on layers of paper towels.
- Increase the oil temperature to 375° F.
- Add the potato sticks to the basket and fry in small batches for a second time for approx. 4 minutes.
- Once they are golden and crispy, remove the French Fries and drain on fresh layers of paper towels.
- Season to taste and serve immediately.
Responsible Disposal
At the end of its working life, do not throw this device out with your household trash. Electrical and electronic products contain substances that can have a detrimental effect on the environment and human health if disposed of inappropriately. Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electric products and dispose of it appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on disposal/recycling facilities in your area.
Discard old oil
If the oil is clouded or if the oil starts to foam or has a foul odor, taste, or smell, discard it. DO NOT pour oil down the sink. Oil will cool with water in the drain and congeal causing backups in your sink, septic system, or public sewer system. Oil can also be damaging to the environment. Oil can spread very thinly across water over a very large area changing the chemistry and health of the ecosystem. Thus, do not dispose the oil near lakes, streams, or watersheds.
The safest way to dispose of oil is by pouring it into a sealable metal container such as a coffee can, or gallon milk jug. Used cooking oil can also be recycled in some areas. If there is a recycle drop-off point in your area, check it to see if they will accept your oil so it could become useful again.
