Connection to the mains supply

The waffle maker should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with EEC Directives 89/336/EEC and 72/23/EEC.

General safety instructions

Check if the tension of your supply corresponds with the voltage indicated on the rating plate of your appliance.

Before commissioning this device please read the instruction manual carefully and keep this so that you can check them later.
Please keep these instructions, the guarantee certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the carton with the inner packaging!
The device is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use! Keep it away from direct heat, sun and moist and protect it against sharp impacts.
Always remove the plug from the socket whenever the device is not in use, when attaching accessory parts, cleaning the device or whenever a disturbance occurs. Switch off the device before. Pull on the plug, not on the cable.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lack of experience and knowledge (including children), unless they have been supervised or instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
In order to protect children from the dangers of electrical appliances, never leave them unsupervised with the device. Consequently, when selecting the location for your device, do so in such a way that children do not have access to the device. Take care to ensure that the cable does not hang down.
Test the device, plug and the cable regularly for damage. If there is damage of any kind, the device should not be used but the appliance must be repaired by a qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard. Only original spare parts must be used.
A damaged cord or plug must be replaced by an authorized technician to avoid a hazard. Do not repair the device yourself..
- Keep the device and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and such like.
- Never use the device unsupervised! Switch off the device whenever you are not using it, even if this is only for a moment.
Do not use the device outdoors.
Under no circumstances must the device be placed in water or other liquid, or come into contact with such. Do not use the device with wet or moist hands.
- Should the device become moist or wet, remove the mains plug from the socket immediately. Do not reach into the water.
Use the device only for the intended purpose.

Initial use

Before you start baking for the first time, grease the non-stick coated cooking plates lightly with a small amount of oil or fat, and let the appliance heat up for about 5 minutes with the cooking plates closed. This will remove the smell typically encountered when first switching on a waffle maker. Please ensure sufficient ventilation.
Clean the waffle maker afterwards as described in "Cleaning and Care".

How to use your waffle maker

• Insert the plug into the wall socket.
  After a short warm-up period of approx. 5 minutes (the green light goes on) the waffle maker is ready for use. The green pilot light goes off on once the temperature has been reached.
• Place the prepared waffle dough on the lower cooking plate and gently close the upper cooking plate.
  Press both cooking plates together.
  The light comes on again. The cooking time is in general four to five minutes, depending on the bread and filling.
• The waffle is ready when the light goes off. Open the toaster and take out the sandwiches. In order to prevent the non-stick cooking plates from being damaged do not use sharp or pointed objects while removing the sandwiches.
• Remove the plug from the wall socket after use.

Cleaning and care

Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and wait until the appliance has cooled down with the cooking plates open.
For reasons of electrical safety, never use water or any other kind of liquid on the waffle maker, nor immer it.
- The waffle maker with non-stick coated plates requires little maintenance. Clean the outside with a soft damp cloth only.
The non-stick-coated plates can also be cleaned with a soft damp cloth or a soft brush.
- Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.

RECIPES

WAFFLES

250 g. plain flour - 250 g. sugar - 250 g. butter or margarine - 4 eggs - Vanilla sugar according to taste - 1 pinch of salt. Mix the flour with the sugar - add the margarine or melted butter and the 4 egg yolks - mix well - beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff add them to the mixture - leave the batter for at least three hours.

BRUSSELS WAFFLES

250 g. flour - 100 g. soft butter - 15 g. yeast mixed with lukewarm milk and a little sugar - 3 eggs with the whites beaten until stiff - 0,375 1. lukewarm made milk. Place the flour in a dish. Make a hollow, pour in the lukewarm milk, beat well and add the egg yolks. Pour in the softened butter or margarine, then add the yeast and the beaten egg whites allow the batter to rise for approx. 3/4 hours completely cover the mould with the mixture. The batter should be of the same consistency as for pancakes. After baking: sprinkle the waffles with fine granulated sugar or cover with whipped cream or jam according to taste.

CHANTILLY WAFFLES

4 egg yolks - 100 g. flour - 125 g. milk - 100 g. melted butter - 2 packets vanilla sugar - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 1 pinch salt - 6 egg whites. Beat together the egg yolks and the cold milk add the flour slowly with the baking powder and then the melted butter - add the vanilla sugar, the salt and the egg whites beaten until stiff - pour the batter into the mould. When the waffles have cooled, add whipped cream and fruit.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed for a period of two years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is brought back to the purchase address. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as ceramic items, bulbs etc. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return and bring it to the address of purchase. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
