Important safety instructions
- Read the operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time and preserve this booklet for later reference. Pass this booklet on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a later date.
To avoid potentially fatal electric shocks:
- Ensure that there is a bulb in every bulb holder when the plug is connected to a wall socket.
- Ensure that neither the string of lights nor the connector power pack come into contact with water or other liquids.
- When in use, ensure that the power cable between the lamps, and to the power pack, cannot become trapped or be damaged in any way. Should the power cable or the connector power pack become damaged the string of lights may no longer be used, as it is no longer safe.
-
Immediately remove the power pack from the wall socket if the string of lights fails to function correctly or is recognisably damaged, especially if the glass of a bulb is cracked or broken. First replace the bulb. Arrange for the appliance to be checked by Customer Services if other damage is recognisable.
-
After use or during extended absences, ALWAYS remove the power pack from the wall socket. For as long as the plug is inserted in the wall socket the appliance itself is under electrical power.
- Ensure that the power plug is at all times easily accessible, so that it can be quickly and easily removed in the event of potential danger.
To avoid the risk of fire:
- Do NOT connect the string of lights to a wall socket if it is still in its packaging. This would lead to a build-up of heat.
- Use only spare bulbs that correspond to the details given in the technical data. Using more powerful bulbs, or those with different wattages, could lead to the other bulbs becoming too hot or to an overload of the power cable.
- Replace non-functional bulbs as soon as possible!
DO NOT place the string of lights under inflammable objects, especially not under paper, curtains or drapes. - NEVER operate the String of Lights when it is still in its packaging (Risk of overheating).
To avoid the risks of accidents and personal injuries:
- Place the string of lights and its power cable such that no one can trip or stumble over it.
- This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiencies in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep children under 3 years of age away from the string of lights. They could swallow small pieces from it!

Utilisation
- Check to ensure that the string of lights is undamaged and all parts and remnants of the packaging are removed from it.
- Check to ensure that every pinned socket contains a bulb. If not, insert replacement bulbs.
- Insert the connector plug ② into the connector power pack ①.
-
Push the retainer nut ③ over it and screw it tight.
-
Drape the string of lights over the object to be decorated.
- Insert the plug of the connector power pack ① into a wall socket to take the string of lights into use.
- If the string of lights does not emit light: Check that each individual bulb 4 is sitting firmly in its pinned socket 6 and the plug of the power pack 1 is firmly held in the wall socket.
- Should individual lamps not emit light: Replace them as described in the following.
Changing bulbs
Risk of personal injury!
- First, remove the connector power pack 1 from the wall socket. The string of lights is "live" for as long as the connector power pack 1 is connected to the power source. Risk of electrical shock!
- After immediate use, first allow the bulb to cool down. Risk of Burns!
Caution:
The bulbs have a pinned socket, not a threaded socket! Do not attempt to screw the bulbs out and do not use any tools. If you do, the bulb glass could splinter.
Risk of injury!
- Remove the bulb 4 together with the pinned plug 5 from the pinned socket 6.
- For replacements, only use the type of bulb detailed in the technical data. Using more powerful bulbs, or those with different wattages, could lead to the other bulbs becoming too hot or to an overload of the power cable.
-
Insert the new bulb 4 complete with its pinned plug 5 into the pinned socket 6. The pinned plug 5 is at the lead, thus the bulb cannot be incorrectly inserted.
-
Re-insert the plug of the connector power pack ① into the wall socket. If the string of lights does not emit light, check to ensure that the new bulb is correctly seated in the socket ⑥.
Risk of Injuries:
Should the glass body of a lamp detach itself or the glass has broken:
- First, immediately remove the connector power pack ① from the wall socket! There is a risk to life if the protruding filaments are touched.
- Carefully attempt to remove the pinned plug ⑤ from the pinned socket ⑥ with long-nosed pliers - under no circumstances should you use your fingers. There is a risk of injury from broken glass.
- Make contact with Customer Services if you do not feel confident about it or were not successful in your attempt.
Cleaning
Danger:
First, remove the connector power pack from the wall socket. Failure to do so brings with it the risk of a potentially fatal electric shock should you come into contact with electrical parts or moisture permeates the appliance.
After immediate use, first allow the bulb to cool down.
- You can now clean the string of lights with a dry cloth. Do NOT use liquids, they could permeate into the pinned socket. Also, to avoid damage to the plastic surfaces, do not use any form of detergent.
Maintenance
This string of lights is maintenance-free, no effort is required on the part of the user.
- Before taking it into use, check the string of lights for visible exterior damage.
