1,7 l Electric water kettle
2. Technical Data
This electric water kettle is meant to heat water for household use. It is not meant to be used with any other fluids and for commercial or industrial use. Voltage ..................................: 230 V / 50 Hz Power consumption .......................: 2200 W Important for your safety! To avoid life-threatening electric shocks:
- Make sure that the base with electrical connections never comes in contact with water. First let the base dry completely, in case it gets wet accidentally.
- Make sure that the power cord never becomes wet or damp during operation. Lay the cord such that it cannot be pinched or otherwise damaged. Should the power cord be damaged, get it replaced by the customer service, before the kettle is used again.
- Always pull the plug out of the power socket after use. Switching off the device is not sufficient because the device receives power as long as the power plug is connected to the socket. To prevent fire hazards and the risk of injury:
- Always heat water with a closed lid, otherwise the automatic cut-out mechanism doesn’t work. Boiling water can then spray out over the edge.
- When in use, the electric water kettle is very hot and hot vapours may escape from it. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling the kettle.
- Make sure that the electric water kettle is kept in a stable and vertical position before you switch it on. Boiling water can cause an unstabile kettle to fall over.
- Never leave the electric water kettle unattended.
- Do not let children and other frail persons handle the appliance unsupervised, as they may not always be able to assess potential risks.. Keep this manual for future reference – and also pass it on with the device to any future owners.

- The kettle switches off on its own, once the water has boiled to the right temperature. The switch comes back to its earlier up position and the indicator switches off too. To interrupt the heating, slide the switch back to the up position. Even then the indicator switches off. Before you start using the kettle, make sure that ... – the kettle, power plug and power cord are in perfect condition. – all packing material has been removed from the kettle. Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX mark and let it boil thoroughly once, as has been described in the next section. Pour this water away.
4. Boiling Water
Warning:
Danger! Never bring the electrical base near water - life-threatening hazard! Pull the power plug out of the socket before you remove the kettle from the base. This allows you to prevent water from spilling out of the kettle and fall on the electrical connections in the base thereby leading to a short circuit. Boil only as much water as you need for current use. That helps you save electricity, water and time:
- Take the kettle to fill water – never bring the electrical base near water – life threatening hazard! Open the lid by pressing the unlocking key Hold the kettle vertically while filling water. Only then will the level indicator on the side correctly indicate the amount of water. Fill the kettle ... – at least up to the MIN mark to prevent the appliance from overheating. – no higher than the MAX mark so that no boiling water spills out.
- First close the lid .
- and and then put the kettle on the base , until it stands absolutely erect on the base .
- Now insert the power plug into the power socket. and press the switchdownwards, until it rests in down position. An indicator at the end of the handle shows that the kettle is heating.
