Frequently Asked Questions - BIFINETT KH 1102 BOUILLOIRE KOMPERNASS

How to use the BIFINETT KH 1102 kettle?
Remove the kettle from the base, open the lid using the unlock button, fill with water between the MIN and MAX marks, close the lid, place the kettle on the base, plug in and lower the switch. The indicator light turns on. The kettle stops automatically once the water boils.
Why does the kettle turn off automatically?
The kettle is equipped with an automatic shut-off device that cuts off the power as soon as the water reaches boiling. This prevents overheating and overflow. You can also turn it off manually by pushing the switch upward.
What to do if the kettle does not heat up?
Check that the kettle is correctly positioned on the base and that the cord is properly plugged in. Make sure the switch is pressed down. If the indicator light does not come on, check the power supply. If the problem persists, contact after-sales service.
How to clean the kettle?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the exterior and cord with a slightly soapy damp sponge. Do not use abrasive products. Never immerse the kettle or base in water. Dry thoroughly before reuse.
How to descale the kettle?
Use a food-grade descaler (e.g., for coffee machines). Fill the kettle with the descaling solution, boil, let it sit, then rinse several times with clean water. If the filter is clogged, remove it and clean separately.
Can the limescale filter be removed?
Yes, the spout filter is removable. Fully open the lid, then press on the filter tab from the top to remove it from the inside. After cleaning, replace it by pressing firmly.
Can other liquids besides water be heated?
No, this kettle is designed only for water. Using other liquids (milk, oil, etc.) may damage the appliance and pose a fire or burn risk.
What is the maximum capacity of the kettle?
The maximum capacity is 1.7 litres, indicated by the MAX mark. Do not exceed this level to avoid boiling water overflow. The minimum level is marked MIN.
Is the kettle suitable for people with reduced mobility?
The appliance is lightweight and easy to use, but steam and hot surfaces pose risks. It is recommended to wear protective gloves and not to leave elderly or children unattended.
How to store the kettle?
Let it cool completely, empty the water, wrap the cord around the support under the base, and store in a dry place. Avoid storing with water inside to prevent mold.

Bifinett KH 1102

1. Intended Use

This electric water kettle is meant to heat water for household use.

It is not meant to be used with any other fluids and for commercial or industrial use.

2. Technical Data

Voltage: 230 V / 50 Hz

Power consumption 2200 W

Important for your safety!

To avoid life-threatening electric shocks:

  • Make sure that the base (3) with electrical connections never comes in contact with water.
First let the base ③ dry completely, in case it gets wet accidentally.
  • Make sure that the power cord never becomes wet or damp during operation. Lay the cord such that it cannot be pinched or otherwise damaged. Should the power cord be damaged, get it replaced by the customer service, before the kettle is used again.
  • Always pull the plug out of the power socket after use. Switching off the device is not sufficient because the device receives power as long as the power plug is connected to the socket.

To prevent fire hazards and the risk of injury:

  • Always heat water with a closed lid①, otherwise the automatic cut-out mechanism doesn't work. Boiling water can then spray out over the edge.
  • When in use, the electric water kettle is very hot and hot vapours may escape from it. It is always best to wear oven mitts when handling the kettle.
  • Make sure that the electric water kettle is kept in a stable and vertical position before you switch it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over.
  • Never leave the electric water kettle unattended.
  • Do not let children and other frail persons handle the appliance unsupervised, as they may not always be able to assess potential risks..

3. Starting Up the Device

Before you start using the kettle, make sure that ...

  • the kettle, power plug and power cord are in perfect condition.
  • all packing material has been removed from the kettle.

Fill the kettle with water up to the MAX mark and let it boil thoroughly once, as has been described in the next section. Pour this water away.

Take the kettle ② to fill water - never bring the electrical base ③ near water life threatening hazard!
1 Open the lid ① by pressing the unlocking key
Hold the kettle ② vertically while filling water. Only then will the level indicator on the side correctly indicate the amount of water. Fill the kettle ② ...
- at least up to the MIN mark to prevent the appliance from overheating.
- no higher than the MAX mark so that no boiling water spills out.
- First close the lid ①.
and and then put the kettle ② on the base ③ , until it stands absolutely erect on the base ③ .
- Now insert the power plug into the power socket.
3 and press the switchdownwards, until it rests in down position.
An indicator at the end of the handle shows that the kettle is heating.

  • The kettle switches off on its own, once the water has boiled to the right temperature. The switch comes back to its earlier up position and the indicator switches off too.
3 To interrupt the heating, slide the switch back to the up position. Even then the indicator switches off.

Warning:

Pull the power plug out of the socket before you remove the kettle ② from the base ③ . This allows you to prevent water from spilling out of the kettle and fall on the electrical connections in the base ③ thereby leading to a short circuit.

For safety reasons you should not open the lid when the water is boiling or is still very hot to avoid risk of injuries.
