Alarm clock radio with USB charging

• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
- The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom.
- Do not install the product in the following areas:
- Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to radiators.
- On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.
- Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area.
- Areas where there is constant vibration.
• Humid or moist places.
• Do not place near candles or other naked flames.
- Operate the product only as instructed in this manual.
- Before turning on the power for the first time, make sure the power adaptor is properly connected.

For safety reasons, do not remove any covers or attempt to gain access to the inside of the product. Refer any servicing to qualified personnel.

Do not attempt to remove any screws, or open the casing of the unit; there are no user serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Environmental information

All unnecessary packaging has been omitted. We have tried to make the packaging easy to separate into three materials: cardboard (box), polystyrene foam (buffer) and poly ethylene (bags, protective foam sheet). Your system consists of material which can be recycled and reused if disassembled by a specialized company. Please observe the local regulations regarding the disposal of packaging materials, exhausted batteries and old equipment.

Recording and playback of material might require consent. See Copyright Act 1956 and The Performer's Protection Acts 1958 to 1972.

Installation and standby mode

Plug in the AC/DC adaptor to an AC household outlet, and then connect another terminal to the DC power jack on the back of the unit. The display will light on. Then radio will enter to standby mode first (only time information on display, no sound output mode). Please reference below instruction for further operation

Backup battery installation

Your clock radio requires 2 x new AA batteries (not included) to provide backup power in the event of a temporary power interruption.

  1. Place your clock face down on a flat and soft surface.
  2. Slide and remove the battery door at the back bottom of your unit.
  3. Insert the first AA battery into the right side of the battery compartment and slide the battery to the left side. Then insert the second AA battery into the right side again by observe the correct + / - polarity inside the battery compartment.

  4. Recover the battery door.

Remarks:

• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard or rechargeable batteries.
- Alkaline batteries are recommended for optimal usage of this clock.
- Please deposal the battery environment friendly; please reference your location government requirement for the recycle.

If AC power is interrupted, the batteries are only used to power your unit. The backup battery will keep the time and all settings of your unit.

Setting time, 12/24hours time and Snooze

  1. Press and hold SET / ALM SET, the hour digits flash. Press on to set the hours. Press and hold or will accelerate setting at high speed.
  2. Press SET / ALM SET once again, the minute digits flash. Press or to set the minutes. Press and hold ▲or ▼will accelerate setting at high speed.
  3. Press SET / ALM SET once again: 24Hr flash, press ▲ or ▼ to select 12Hr ⇌ 24Hr. In 12Hr mode, PM will appear on the display to indicate afternoon time. There is no AM indicator.
  4. Press SET / ALM SET once again, the year 2015 flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set to the current year.
  5. Press SET / ALM SET once again, the month digits flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set to the current month.
  6. Press SET / ALM SET once again, the date digits flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set to the current date.
  7. Press SET / ALM SET once again, 05 flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set the snooze duration (from 5 min to 60 min).
  8. Press SET / ALM SET again to complete set-up. If no key is pressed in approximate 10 seconds at any time during set-up, the clock will exit the set-up mode. Remark: the calendar must be set correctly to current date / month / year to enable the weekdays / weekends alarm work properly.

Setting alarms

  1. In standby mode, press SET / ALM SET once, the default alarm time 6:00, ALM 1 and WEEDAYS will appear.
  2. Then press and hold SET / ALM SET until the hour digits flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set the desired hour. Press and hold ▲ or ▼ to accelerate setting at high speed. PM will appear on the display to indicate afternoon time if 12-Hr format is selected. There is no AM indicator.
  3. Press SET / ALM SET once again, the minute digits flash. Press ▲ or ▼ to set desired minutes. Press and hold ▲ or ▼ to accelerate setting at high speed.
  4. Press SET / ALM SET once again, LCD displays "bu" (buzzer)., Press ▲ or ▼ to select the wake-up sound sources :-
bu = Buzzer
rd = Radio
N1 = Birds
N2 = River
N3 = Wind Chime
N4 = Ocean 
  1. Press SET / ALM SET once again, The WEEKDAYS flash, Press ▲ or ▼ to select WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS or DAILY :-
    WEEKDAYS = Alarm 1 is active on Monday to Friday
    WEEKENDS = Alarm 1 is active on Saturday and Sunday
    DAILY = Alarm 1 is active on Monday to Sunday

  2. Press SET / ALM SET again to complete set-up. If no key is pressed in approximate 10 seconds at any time during set-up, the clock will exit the alarm set-up mode.

  3. After complete the above alarm setting step (1\~6), short press the ALM 1-2 ON.OFF button to active or turn off the alarm 1; And the "ALM 1 WEEKDAYS(example)" icon will show on display which mean the alarm 1 is working now.

  4. To set up the ALARM2, please press SET / ALM SET button twice, then press and hold SET / ALM SET button to start the rest setting which is same operation as ALARM 1. Please do not forget to press the ALM 1-2 ON.OFF button to active the alarm 2 till the "ALM 1 WEEKDAYS(example)" icon show on display which mean the alarm 2 is working now.

  5. Please kindly note continue press the ALM 1-2 ON.OFF button can make the alarm1/alarm2 icon disappear or show on display which means the related alarm is on or off.

Note:

a. the alarm function just operates with power condition when the AC/DC adaptor was connected, or installed battery backup power. Please double check the alarm setting again in case you remove the adaptor.

b. In battery power only mode, only buzzer sound is available for alarm sourcing, the unit will wake up you by buzzer sound even you set the nature sound as the alarm source. If you want wake up by the radio or nature sound, the AC/DC adaptor should be connected.

Alarm ring up and cancellation

When alarm 1 or 2 is ringing up, the related alarm icon will flash. Press the ALM 1.2/ON.OFF or MODE/SLEEP once to stop the alarm, and the alarm will ring up again in the time being next day. After that ALM 1 and WEEKDAYS / WEEKENDS / DAILY and/or ALM 2 and WEEKDAYS / WEEKENDS / DAILY remain on the display.

Snooze operation (default snooze duration is 5 minutes)

When alarm is ringing up, short press zz button once to active the snooze function, the alarm will be silenced and come on again after the set snooze duration.

Note: if your second alarm is activating while the first alarm is ringing up or it is in the snooze mode, the second alarm will override the first alarm (the first alarm is reset to come on the next day).

Set up FM antenna

Extend the FM wire antenna fully and vary the direction for best FM reception. Do not strip, alter or attach to other antennas.

Please try to move the radio next to window for better signal reception

Listen to FM radio

  1. To turn on the radio, press MODE/SLEEP once, the display shows "rd" and then the radio frequency readings in Mhz.
  2. Press ▲ / ▼ button to tune the radio to a desired station, the radio frequency will increase of decrease 0.1MHz per step. Press and hold ▲ to scan the available strong station.
  3. To adjust the volume, press VOL once, the display shows "L10", press ▲ or ▼ to adjust volume from L00 (no sound) to L15 (maximum). Press VOL to store the volume setting.
  4. Press zx to turn off the radio.
  5. To check the current FM radio frequency, please short press MODE/SLEEP button. The radio will show "RD", then the current radio frequency.

Remark: keep your radio away from fluorescent lamps or other electronic devices, which may cause interference to the radio.

Radio preset operation

In radio mode, the unit allows you to preset your favorite stations and access them quickly.

The radio can preset 10-station maximum.

  1. Turn on the radio and select a radio station you like to memorize.
  2. Press and hold the SET until "MEM" appears and "01" flashes. Press SET once to store preset 1 station.
  3. Press ▲ or ▼ to select another station you like to memorize. Then press and hold SET until "MEM" appears and "01" flashes. Press ▲ or ▼ to select and adjust the preset station number location which you want to save, press SET once to confirm the preset station.
  4. Repeat Step 2 to 3 to set up other preset station.
  5. To pick up the preset station, please short press the SET button. The radio will show the preset station number and play automatically.
  6. To edit a preset station, select another station and then repeat Step 2 to 4. This can override the original settings.

Note: the preset station information can keep only when the unit connects with DC/AC power adaptor, or the backup battery power was installed. Please double check and set up the preset station in case of you cut off the power.

To play the nature sounds

  1. In standby mode( the display shows time information without sound output).

Press MODE/SLEEP twice, to select "Birds", the display shows "N1"

Press MODE/SLEEP third, to select "River", the display shows "N2"

Press MODE/SLEEP fourth, to select "Chime", the display shows "N3"

Press MODE/SLEEP fifth, to select "Ocean", the display shows "N4"

  1. When nature sound is being played, press VOL once, the display shows "L02", press ▲ or ▼ to adjust volume from "L01" (lowest) to "L03" (highest)
  2. When nature sound is being played, press Zz• once to turn off the Nature Sound.

Sleep operation

  1. When the radio or nature sound is being played, press and hold MODE/SLEEP to enter the sleep mode. The SLEEP and the sleep time "05" (5 minutes) appear on the display.
  2. Press the MODE/SLEEP again as needed to adjust the sleep timer from 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120 or OFF.
  3. When the display reverts to time display, press and hold MODE/SLEEP once to show the sleep time remaining.
  4. The radio or nature sound will remain active for the programmed sleep time and then shut off automatically.

  5. To turn off the radio before the sleep time has elapsed, press

zz·once.

Display dimmer

Simply press Zz•to adjust the brightness (Hi/Lo/Off) of the LCD backlight. This can only be done when the adaptor is being used to power the clock radio and the radio is off.

Remarks: if only use the batteries, press Zz once to activate the backlight for 5 seconds and then it goes off.

TO USE PROGRAMMABLE AUTO DIM BACKLIGHT

  1. At normal time display mode, press and hold Zz•, until the display shows 🔍 and "OFF" flashes. Press ▲ or ▼ to select "ON" to activate the auto dim backlight function.
  2. Press zz once, "0:00" flash, press ▲ or ▼ to set auto dim starting hours.
  3. Press zz once, 9Hr flash, press ▲ or ▼ to set auto dim duration from 5Hr to 12Hr.
  4. Press Zz once to complete the setting. ☐ remains on the LCD display. If no key is pressed in approximate 10 seconds at any time during set-up, the clock radio will revert to normal time display.

USB charging

Connect the charging cable of your mobile phone to the A-type USB port at the back of the unit, then connect the other end to your mobile phone. The clock radio will charge the mobile phone automatically.

Remarks:

  1. Make sure the original cable of your mobile phone's original charging cable for charging
  2. Make sure the original adaptor enclosed with your clock radio (5V 550mA) is being used to power your clock radio. Using other adaptors may not charge your phone.
  3. The USB port provides slower charging and it takes longer to charge your mobile phone.
  4. iPad and notepad charging is not applicable.
  5. The charging functions for all phones or electronic devices are not guaranteed on this unit.
  6. The charging time of your device is not guarantee due to not supplied rating chargingUSBpower source for your device.
  7. The radio rating USB charging output is 5V/500mA

Trouble shooting

If your clock displays irrelevant time or does not function properly, which maybe caused by electro-static discharge or other interference, unplug the DC jack to disconnect the AC power (and remove the backup battery). The clock radio will be reset to default settings and you need to set it again. For other abnormal issue or malfunction, please contact the service center for support.
