How do I set the time on the SilverCrest SR-1300?

Press and hold the Clock button for 2 seconds. Use the Tuning knob to adjust hours, press Clock again, adjust minutes, and press Clock to confirm.

Why is the radio not receiving any FM stations?

Ensure the antenna is fully extended. Try switching to a stronger station or moving the radio near a window. Also check that the band selector is set to FM.

Can I use rechargeable batteries in the SR-1300?

Yes, rechargeable AA batteries (Ni-MH) can be used. However, the battery indicator may not be accurate; replace or recharge when sound quality drops.

How do I store radio stations as presets?

Tune to the desired station, press and hold one of the Preset buttons (1-10) until you hear a beep. Repeat for other stations.

What does the 'Sleep' function do?

The Sleep timer automatically turns off the radio after a set time (15, 30, 60, or 90 minutes). Press Sleep repeatedly to choose the duration.

Can I use headphones with this radio?

Yes, plug headphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the side. This will mute the built-in speaker.

How do I reset the radio to factory settings?

Press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds, or remove all batteries and unplug the AC adapter for 1 minute.

The display shows '0.00' on AM band. What's wrong?

This is normal if no station is tuned. Rotate the tuning knob slowly to find a station. If the antenna is weak, try a different location.

What type of AC adapter does the SR-1300 use?

Use only the supplied DC 6V 500mA adapter with a center-positive plug. Using a different adapter may damage the radio.

How do I clean the radio?

Unplug the radio and remove batteries. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

This scan radio receiver offers simple and convenient radio listening. Via the one-touch button functionality you can easily toggle to the next available station.

Inserting the Batteries

Insert the supplied batteries. Open the battery compartment cover on the back panel of the device by sliding it in the direction of the printed arrow. Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -). The correct polarity is labelled on the batteries and inside the battery compartment. Next, close the battery compartment cover.

If the output volume weakens or the device fails to respond, replace the batteries with new batteries of the same type. The device will not inform you about weak batteries.

Connecting the Headphones

Insert the jack-type plug of the supplied headphones into the headphones receptacle (6) on the side panel of the unit.

Using the Device

Powering On and Adjusting the Volume

- Rotate the volume adjustment knob (7) counterclockwise to power the radio on. This will adjust the audio volume at the same time. Turn the volume adjustment knob counterclockwise to increase the sound volume, or turn it clockwise to lower the volume.

■ Turning the volume adjustment knob clockwise as far as it goes will power the device off.

Tuning a Radio Station

To be able to receive any radio stations, the supplied headphones must be connected to the headphones receptacle. The cable of the headphones is used as an antenna.

- Use the volume adjustment button (7) to set the desired sound volume.

- Press the SCAN button (2) to launch an automatic station search. As soon as a station has been found, the scan will stop and the radio programme can be listened to.

- To switch to a different station, press the SCAN button (2) again. The next available station will be searched for.

- The scan is always performed up to the end of the frequency band. To launch a scan from the beginning of the frequency band, press the RESET button (3).

Setting the Time

The time can only be set while the device is powered off. If it is still powered on, power the device off by using the volume control knob (7).

• Press and hold the TIME button (1).
• Then press the HOUR button (8) repeatedly to set the hour. You can also keep the HOUR button (8) pressed down to accelerate the digit adjustment. To distinguish ante meridian (morning) and post meridian (afternoon) time, "PM" will display for post meridian clock hours.
• Keep the TIME button (1) pressed. Then press the MIN button (10) repeatedly to set the minutes. You can also keep the MIN button (10) pressed down to accelerate the digit adjustment.
• Release the TIME button (1) after the clock has been set correctly.

Setting the Alarm Clock

Verify that the clock displays the correct time. The alarm time can only be set while the device is powered off. If it is still powered on, power the device off by using the volume control knob (7).

Press and hold the ARM button (9). Then press the HOUR button (8) repeatedly to set the hours of the alarm time. You can also keep the HOUR button (8) pressed down to accelerate the digit adjustment. To distinguish ante meridian (morning) and post meridian (afternoon) time, "PM" will display for post meridian clock hours.

Keep the ARM button (9) pressed. Then press the MIN button (10) repeatedly to set the minutes of the alarm time. You can also keep the MIN button (10) pressed down to accelerate the digit adjustment.

Release the ARM button (9) after the alarm clock has been set correctly.

Enabling the Alarm

After the desired alarm time has been set, you can enable the alarm as follows:

• Press the OFF/ON button (4). The alarm icon will show on the display (5).
• To disable the alarm, press the ON/OFF button (4) again. The alarm icon will disappear from the display (5).
• A repetitive sound will be heard at the time of the set alarm. To disable the alarm sound, press the OFF/ON button (4).
