Frequently Asked Questions - GYB00816ST AEG

How to install the AEG GYB00816ST boiler?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional in accordance with NF DTU 65.4 standard. It includes connection to the heating circuit, gas supply, domestic hot water, and flue gas evacuation (chimney flue or balanced flue).
What is the recommended water pressure?
The cold filling pressure must be between 1.0 and 1.5 bar. Check the pressure gauge and add water via the filling valve if necessary (be careful not to exceed 3 bar).
Why is my boiler making noise?
A whistling noise may indicate air in the circuit (bleed radiators). A banging noise may come from a dirty heat exchanger or excessive pressure. Contact a technician if the noise persists.
How to maintain my boiler?
Annual maintenance is mandatory (decree n°2009-649). It includes cleaning the burner, heat exchanger, combustion control, checking safety devices and the pressure of the expansion vessel.
What to do in case of an error code displayed?
Consult the code table in the manual: a code E01 for example indicates an ignition fault (check gas supply), E02 overheating (bleed air). If the problem persists, call an authorized AEG repairer.
How to adjust the domestic hot water temperature?
Turn the DHW (domestic hot water) adjustment knob between 35 and 60 °C. A temperature too high increases limescale and risk of burns; 55 °C is a good compromise comfort and energy savings.
Does my boiler only produce cold water?
First check that the gas is open and the power supply is on. If the boiler is in summer mode, make sure the DHW set temperature is sufficient. A faulty flow meter can also stop hot water production.
Can I program the boiler for time schedules?
Yes, use the built-in timer or an optional room sensor. Set the heating and DHW periods separately to optimize comfort and consumption.
Which spare parts are essential?
Common wear parts are the gas filter, circulation pump, ignition and detection electrodes, as well as the expansion vessel (to be checked every 2 years). Use only genuine AEG parts.
What is the average lifespan of this boiler?
With regular maintenance, a condensing boiler lasts on average 15 to 20 years. Components such as the burner or heat exchanger can be replaced to extend its longevity.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Intended use and unintended use

This AEG appliance is intended to be used to store, heat and provide drinking water. The appliance should only be used in household and similar environments, such as:

• In shops, offices and other similar working environments; • In farm houses; - By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; • In bed and breakfast type environments.

The appliance should not be used:

  • For commercial or industrial purposes; • In vehicles or on board ships or aircraft; • In locations with a corrosive or explosive atmosphere; • For medical purposes;

The appliance may only be used according to the instructions described in this manual. Any use other than described in this manual is considered unintended use.

1.2 General working principle

This AEG appliance stores, heats, and provides boiling drinking water in addition to cold and warm water.

To supply boiling water, cold water flows from the cold water supply to the boiler, where it is heated to 100 °C. From the boiler, the boiling water flows to the tap.

The cold water also flows from the cold water supply directly to the cold water inlet on the tap.

There are two ways to provide the tap with warm water:

– Warm water can be supplied by connecting the warm water supply, if available, to the warm water inlet on the tap. This situation is named the solo configuration. – Cold water and boiling water from the boiler can be mixed with the mixing valve. The mixed water outlet of the mixing valve can be connected to the warm water inlet on the tap. This situation is named the combi configuration.

Flow rate too lowThe system contains scaling or contaminationA hose is bentMake sure that hoses are not bentContact Customer Care and Service.
Problem Cause Solution
Flow rate too high Too much pressure •Close the valve of the pressure safety valve (23) or the cold water supply valve. • Place a pressure reducing valve
Water drips from the discharge pipe of the pressure-relief device• Do not do anything. This is normal.
