Frequently Asked Questions - EFC639X ELECTROLUX
How to install the Electrolux EFC639X range hood?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional. Ensure you respect the minimum distances from the cooking surface (65 cm for an electric cooktop, 75 cm for a gas cooker). Use the supplied wall plugs and screws. For exhaust mode, connect the duct to an external air outlet.
How to clean the grease filters?
The aluminum grease filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher at a maximum of 65°C or by hand with warm soapy water. Let them dry completely before putting them back. Clean every month or more often with heavy use.
When should the charcoal filter be replaced?
The charcoal filter should be replaced approximately every 6 months, or more frequently if you cook a lot. It is not washable. Only use original Electrolux filters to ensure performance.
How to change the LED bulb?
First unplug the appliance. Open the lighting panel. Remove the defective LED bulb by unscrewing it. Replace it with a bulb of the same type (G4, 1.5 W, 12 V). Screw it back in and close the panel.
The hood makes noise, is that normal?
A slight ventilation noise is normal. If the noise is excessive, check that the filters are clean and properly installed, that the ducts are not blocked, and that the hood is securely mounted. The maximum noise level is 64 dB.
Can I use the hood in recirculation mode?
Yes, the Electrolux EFC639X hood can operate in recirculation mode. You must then install an activated charcoal filter (not supplied) and direct the air back into the room via the side outlets.
How to adjust the suction speed?
Use the slider located on the front of the hood. Push it to the right to increase the speed. Three speeds are available. For normal use, use speed 1 or 2; speed 3 is for strong odors.
What is the recommended mounting height?
The hood must be installed at a minimum height of 65 cm above electric cooktops and 75 cm above gas cooktops. Follow the instructions in the manual for optimal distance.
How to turn on the hood lighting?
The LED lighting turns on by pressing the dedicated switch (often the left button or a separate button). It can also be activated by pulling the slider, depending on the model. Consult your manual for details.
What to do if the hood stops working?
First check that the appliance is properly plugged in and that the fuse has not blown. Check that the slider is in the on position. If the problem persists, contact Electrolux customer service. Do not disassemble the hood yourself.
