Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance.
You have clearly decided in favour of a high-quality product. These operating instructions are a part of this product. They contain important information in regard to safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating and safety instructions. Use this appliance only as described and only for the specified areas of application. In addition, pass these operating instructions on to whoever might acquire the appliance at a future date.
Intended use
This appliance is intended only for the non-commercial measuring of moisture in wood and construction materials. The moisture can be measured in, for example, firewood, paper, cardboard, construction timber, mortar, concrete and plaster. In addition, the appliance will display the room temperature in ^ C elsius or ^ F ahr- enheit. This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those detailed. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone bears liability.
Safety
In this chapter you receive important safety information regarding the handling of the appliance. This appliance complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can, however, lead to personal injury and property damage.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not take into operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiencies in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer, otherwise, no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.
Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the appliance.
Protect the appliance against moisture and liquid penetration.
The measuring pins are very sharp. Be careful when working with the appliance. Always replace the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in use. There is also a risk of personal injury!
For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety instructions:
Do not throw batteries into a fire.
Never short-circuit batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge batteries.
Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to the appliance. Special caution should be exercised when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Risks from acid burns! Wear protective gloves.
Store batteries in a place inaccessible to children. If a battery should be swallowed, seek medical attention IMMEDIATELY.
If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.

NOTICE
- Check the contents to ensure that everything is present and for signs of visible damage.
If the contents are not complete, or are damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service).
Inserting / replacing the batteries
Unscrew the battery compartment lid on the rear of the appliance.
Insert 4 new batteries of type AAA into the battery compartment 4. Be sure to insert the batteries with the correct polarity.
Replace the battery compartment lid on the battery compartment 4 and screw it down firmly.
Handling and operation
In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the appliance.
Display indicators
The display 3 is structured as follows:

| The left scale shows wood moisture content from 6-44 %. | |
| The right scale shows construction material moisture content from 0.2-2.0 %. | |
| °C | The temperature is indicated at the top of the display in °Celsius or °Fahrenheit. |
The measurement result is shown in the middle of the display by measurement lines. In the left scale each measurement line represents 1% . In the right scale each measurement line represents 0,05% .

Measurement of constructional material or wood moisture
Switch the appliance on by pressing the ON/SET 5 button.
Before taking the first measurement, check that the appliance is functioning correctly. For this, use the test aid ①. On the test aid ① there are four measurement points marked as B and T.

Press the measuring pins ② on the measurement points B. All measurement lines on the display ③ begin to blink.
Now press the measuring pins ② on the measurement points T. The measuring lines on the display ③ should now be showing 19% (+/- 1%) .
When you arrive at the given value in both tests, the appliance is ready for use.
Press the measuring pins ② into the material to be tested. The measurement lines on the display ③ show the moisture content.
To read the result for firewood, cardboard and construction timber, use the left scale with the symbol _ .
To read the results for mortar, concrete and plaster, use the right scale with the symbol .
If the measured value exceeds the maximum values of 2 % resp. 44 % , the measurement lines start to blink.
To minimise measurement errors, carry out comparative measurements at several locations.
Temperature Display
The temperature is indicated at the top of the display 3
Press and hold the ON/SET 5 button for 3 seconds to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Pocket lamp
Press and hold the button 串 for 3 seconds to switch the LED 7 on.
Press the button 6 once again to switch the LED 7 off.
Automatic switch-off
The appliance switches itself off automatically after approx. 30 seconds without button activation. The automatic switch off is disabled when the LED ⑦ is switched on.

Cleaning
IMPORTANT
Possible damage to the appliance.
Permeating moisture can cause damage to the appliance.
To avoid irreparable damage to it, ensure that no moisture can get inside when you are cleaning the appliance.
Clean the housing exclusively with a soft damp cloth and a mild dishwashing liquid.
Clean the measuring pins with a damp cloth and dry them well afterwards.
Maintenance
Before every use check the appliance for visible external damage.
Check the measuring pins before every use for damage.
Storage/Disposal
Storage
Always replace the protective cap ① on the appliance when it is not in use. If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.
Store the appliance in a dry environment.
Disposal of the appliance

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2002/96/EC-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Pay heed to the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposing of the batteries
Do not dispose of the batteries with household waste. All consumers are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their community/city district or at a retail store. This obligation is intended to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally safe fashion. Only hand in batteries/cells that are fully discharged.
