Frequently Asked Questions - EWA3230 AEG

How do I clean the limescale filter?
Remove the filter by pulling it outwards. Wash it under running water with a soft brush. For stubborn scale, soak in a descaling solution or vinegar. Rinse thoroughly before reinserting.
How to descale the kettle?
Fill the kettle with a mixture of 50% white vinegar and 50% water, or use a commercial descaling product. Boil and let it soak for 15-30 minutes. Empty and rinse well with fresh water. Repeat if necessary.
What is the maximum capacity?
The maximum capacity is 1.7 liters (do not fill beyond the MAX marking). Overfilling may cause spitting or boiling over.
Can I boil water with the lid open?
No, always close the lid before boiling. Operating with the lid open may not trigger auto shut-off and can cause overheating.
Why does my kettle turn off before boiling?
This may be due to insufficient water (boil-dry protection activated) or a build-up of limescale. Ensure you have enough water and descale regularly.
Is the kettle suitable for other liquids?
No, the kettle is designed for water only. Boiling milk, oil, or other liquids will damage the appliance and void warranty.
How to prevent limescale buildup?
Use filtered water, empty the kettle after each use, and descale regularly (every 2-3 months depending on water hardness).
The water has a plastic taste. What should I do?
Perform 2-3 initial boils of fresh water and discard to remove any manufacturing residue. If taste persists, descale and clean thoroughly.
Can I use the kettle on a metallic surface?
Place the base on a stable, dry, heat-resistant surface. Avoid metallic surfaces as they may conduct heat and affect performance.
What does the boil-dry protection do?
If the kettle is switched on with insufficient water, a safety sensor will automatically cut power to prevent overheating and damage. Allow the appliance to cool before refilling.
