Frequently Asked Questions - EWA 5210 AEG

How do I descale the AEG EWA 5210 kettle?
To descale, fill the kettle with a mixture of water and white vinegar (or citric acid). Bring to a boil, let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. Alternatively, use a descaling solution compatible with kettles.
What is the capacity of this kettle?
The AEG EWA 5210 has a capacity of 1.7 liters, suitable for boiling enough water for several cups of tea or coffee at once.
Why does my kettle turn off before the water boils?
This may be due to scale buildup. Descale the kettle as described above. Also, ensure the lid is closed properly and the water level is above the minimum mark.
Can I open the lid while the kettle is boiling?
It is not recommended to open the lid during boiling as hot steam can cause burns. Wait until the kettle has automatically switched off and cooled down slightly.
How do I clean the removable filter?
The scale filter can be removed by pulling it out. Rinse it under running water and scrub gently with a soft brush. For stubborn deposits, soak in a vinegar solution before rinsing.
What does the boil-dry protection do?
Boil-dry protection is a safety feature that automatically switches off the kettle if there is no water inside or if the water level is too low, preventing damage to the heating element.
How long does it take to boil a full kettle?
Boiling 1.7 liters of water typically takes about 3-4 minutes, depending on the starting water temperature and voltage.
Is the kettle cordless?
Yes, the kettle is cordless and sits on a 360° swivel base, making it easy to lift and pour. The base has a cord storage underneath.
What should I do if the kettle leaks?
Check the lid seal and the water level window for cracks. If the kettle leaks from the base, ensure the base is not damaged. Contact AEG customer service for replacement parts if needed.
Can I use the kettle to heat milk or other liquids?
No, this kettle is intended for water only. Heating milk or other liquids can cause burning, clogging, and damage to the kettle and void the warranty.
