How to insert a tape cartridge into the label printer?

Make sure the device is off. Open the cover by pressing the button. Remove any existing cartridge. Take the new cartridge out of its packaging, check that the tape end is not bent, then pull about 3 cm of tape. Insert the cartridge ensuring the tape and ink ribbon pass between the head and the roller. Close the cover, turn on the device, and perform a tape feed by pressing FUNCTION then PRINT (FEED) two or three times.

How to reset the label printer?

Turn off the device. While holding down the PRINT and ESC keys, press ON. The screen displays 'INITIALIZE? SET/ESC'. Press SET to confirm the reset (this erases all data).

How to change the display language of messages?

Press SET UP. Use the arrows to highlight 'LANGUAGE' and press SET. Choose the desired language (French, English, German, Italian, Spanish) with the arrows, then press SET.

How to connect the label printer to a computer?

Use the provided PC Link cable. Connect it to the 3-pin connector on the back of the label printer and to a USB port on the computer. Install the PC Link software from the provided CD-ROM. On the label printer, press FUNCTION then SYMBOL (COMPUTER) and follow the instructions to receive data.

How to print multiple copies of the same label?

Before printing, press SET to access the SET UP menu. Highlight 'COPIES' and press SET. Select 'ON' then specify the number of copies (from 1 to 100) using the arrows. Then press PRINT to start multiple printing. Auto-cut can be enabled in the same menu.

How to create a barcode on a label?

Press PRESETS then highlight 'BAR CODE' and press SET. Choose the barcode type (EAN-13, UPC-A, etc.) and enter the numbers. Press SET to confirm. The barcode appears in the text. Make sure to use a tape at least 18 mm wide. To print, press PRINT.

What to do if the print is blurry or stained?

First check the print density setting (SET UP menu, 'DENSITY'). If the problem persists, clean the print head and roller with an alcohol-dampened cotton swab (see page F-39). Also ensure the cartridge is inserted correctly and the ink ribbon is taut.

How to adjust the screen contrast?

Press SET UP. Use the arrows to highlight 'CONTRAST' and press SET. Use the < and > keys to lighten or darken the display, then press SET to confirm.

How to use enlarged printing?

Enlarged printing allows printing large labels by joining several tapes. Press PRESETS, highlight 'MULTI' (ENLARGEMENT) and press SET. Choose the number of pieces (2, 3 or 4). Use tapes of 36 mm or 46 mm. The text will be automatically distributed across the tapes.

How to clean the print head?

Turn off and unplug the label printer. Open the cover and remove the cartridge. Use a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol to gently wipe the print head (the hot metal part). Let dry before replacing the cartridge and closing. Perform this operation regularly for optimal print quality.
