How to pair the 3M EM550GPL mouse with my computer?

Insert the batteries into the mouse, plug the Nano USB receiver into a free port on your computer. The mouse pairs automatically. If necessary, press the pairing button located under the mouse.

What is the battery life of the mouse?

The battery life is approximately 12 months with quality alkaline batteries, depending on usage. The mouse has a sleep mode to save power.

How to adjust the sensitivity (DPI)?

Press the DPI button located under the scroll wheel. Multiple levels are available (800, 1200, 1600 DPI) to adjust cursor speed.

Does the mouse work with macOS?

Yes, the mouse is compatible with macOS 10.12 or later. Plug in the receiver and it works without additional drivers.

What to do if the mouse stops responding?

Check the battery status, try reconnecting the receiver to another USB port, or perform a reassociation by pressing the pairing button.

How to clean the ergonomic mouse?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Never use liquid or abrasive products, as they could damage the device.

Is the mouse suitable for right-handed and left-handed users?

The vertical ergonomic design of the EM550GPL is primarily designed for right-handed users. For left-handed users, it is recommended to try in store or consider the 3M ambidextrous model.

Can I use the mouse without a USB receiver?

No, this mouse uses a 2.4 GHz wireless connection via the provided Nano USB receiver. It is not Bluetooth compatible.

What type of batteries to use?

Use two AA alkaline batteries. Rechargeable NiMH batteries are also compatible, but battery life may be slightly reduced.

Thank you for purchasing the 3M™ Ergonomic Mouse EM550. This wireless optical mouse is clinically proven to alleviate pain and discomfort in the hand, wrist or arm associated with the use of traditional mice.* Its patented, vertical grip design keeps your hand and wrist at a neutral angle.

When you use a traditional mouse, you pronate your forearm and wrist and typically press your wrist and carpal tunnel area against the desk. This behavior can lead to repetitive stress injuries, which can result in pain or discomfort in the hand, wrist or arm.

The 3M™ Ergonomic Mouse works as a regular optical mouse—except that your hand grips the handle and rests on the base, and you use your thumb to left and right click. You can scroll in many programs by clicking the 3rd button. It may take up to a week to adjust to using the 3M Ergonomic Mouse.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not satisfied for any reason, you may return the mouse to 3M for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase date. Refer to the warranty section for instructions.

Important Safety Considerations

• Use only batteries of the correct size and type (AAA - alkaline).
• Orient the battery's plus (+) and minus (-) terminals according to the markings found on the battery cover.
• Do not carry batteries loose in your pocket or purse.
• Do not leave batteries in the mouse for extended periods of time.

Turn the mouse over and remove the battery cover.

Slide the batteries into the battery compartment as shown in the illustration on the battery cover and replace cover.

To check if batteries are installed properly, turn the power switch to ON.

The optical lens will illuminate in red. Turn the power switch to OFF.

Connecting the Mouse to Your Computer.

Turn off your mouse.

Plug USB receiver into an open USB port on your computer.

Turn on your computer.

Turn on your mouse. The optical lens will illuminate in red.

Press CONNECT button on USB receiver. Green light will slowly blink.

Press CONNECT button on mouse.

Green light on USB receiver will quickly blink for a short time, then stop.

Move your mouse.

Basic mouse functionality will activate. While moving the mouse, the green light on USB receiver will quickly blink. While the mouse is idle, the green light will not blink.

Your mouse is now ready for use. You can customize your mouse settings through your mouse settings utility included with your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux).

Operate by moving entire mouse around on mousing surface.

Use the thumb button for left and right clicking.

• Plug the computer into a different power outlet so that the hardware device and radio or TV are on different circuits controlled by different circuit breakers or fuses.
• If necessary, ask your computer dealer or an experienced radio-TV technician for more suggestions.

3M warrants to the owner of this new product that it is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for two years from the original date of purchase. The warranty does not include normal wear and tear or failure due to operator misuse, carelessness or any accidental cause. 3M MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. If within two years from the date of purchase, the product proves to be defective or requires service, your exclusive remedy and 3M's and seller's sole obligation shall be, at 3M's option, to repair or replace the product. If you have a problem with the product, please call our Customer Service toll-free number, 1-800-332-7483. If requested by 3M, you must send the product to 3M at your sole cost.
