Frequently Asked Questions - BE 18 LTX 6 METABO

How to change the chuck on the Metabo BE 18 LTX 6 drill?
To change the chuck, use an Allen key to unscrew the locking screw inside the chuck (left-hand thread). Then, turn the chuck counterclockwise to remove it. Install the new chuck by hand-tightening.
What is the battery runtime on the Metabo BE 18 LTX 6?
Runtime depends on battery capacity and usage. With a 2.0 Ah battery, you can drill about 50 holes of 10 mm in wood. For intensive work, choose a 4.0 Ah or higher battery.
How to know if the battery is fully charged?
The Metabo charger indicates the end of charging with a solid green light. Some chargers also emit a sound signal. Consult the charger manual for details.
Can I use hammer drill bits with this model?
No, the Metabo BE 18 LTX 6 is a drill/driver without hammer function. It is designed for drilling in wood, metal and plastic, but not in masonry. Use a hammer drill for concrete.
How to adjust the torque setting?
Turn the torque adjustment ring located behind the chuck. The numbers indicate the torque level. Start with a low setting for delicate screws and increase gradually until the desired tightening is achieved.
What to do if the drill does not start?
First, check that the battery is charged and properly inserted. If the problem persists, ensure the spindle lock is not engaged. Finally, check the carbon brushes (if accessible) and replace them if worn.
How to maintain the Metabo BE 18 LTX 6 drill?
Clean the ventilation slots regularly with a soft brush to prevent overheating. Store the drill in a dry place. Lubricate the chuck occasionally with a drop of oil.
What is the warranty on the Metabo BE 18 LTX 6 drill?
Metabo offers a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. Online product registration can extend the warranty to 3 years. Keep the invoice as proof of purchase.
Can I use batteries from other brands?
It is not recommended to use non-Metabo batteries as they may not meet safety standards and could damage the tool. Use only Metabo 18V LTX series batteries.
How to change the carbon brushes?
Disconnect the battery. Remove the brush caps (usually located on each side of the motor). Take out the worn brushes and insert the new ones. Replace the caps. Run the drill at no load for a few minutes to break in the brushes.
