WARNING
A risk of fire and electrical shock exists in all electrical appliances and may cause personal injury or death. Please follow all safety instructions.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons including the following:
- Read all instructions before using appliance.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- Do not immerse probe, cord or plug in water or other liquids. See instructions for cleaning.
- This appliance is not for use by children.
- Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not keep the appliance unattended while in use.
- This appliance must not be used by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental impairments unless they have been
instructed in its correct use by a responsible adult.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Always attach probe to griddle before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn temperature control knob to “OFF”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not operate any damaged appliance. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service center for examination, repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment.
- For Indoor use Only. Do not use outdoors or while standing in a damp area.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
- Use extreme caution when disposing of hot grease.
- Do not use appliance except as indicated in these instructions.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by this appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place grease cup, warning drawer or spatula rest on top of hot grill surface.
The connector must be removed before the appliance is cleaned and the appliance inlet must be dried before the appliance is used again.
Only the appropriate connector must be used.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
The appliance is not intended for commercial, professional or industrial use. It is designed and built exclusively for household use only.
Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use and each time before it is cleaned.
Never use the cable to carry the appliance.
The unit should not be used with an individual timer or remote control.
This appliance is intended for use in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
WARNING: Charcoal or similar combustible fuels must not be used with this appliance.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
- Do not use this appliance with a programmer, counter, or another device which can automatically turn it on because if the appliance is covered or incorrectly positioned there is a danger of fire.
- When this symbol is used, it means "Caution: Hot surfaces"
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
- Wash the drip tray in warm soapy water using a mild household detergent. Dry drip tray thoroughly. Place drip tray into base. For easy cleaning, line the drip tray with aluminum foil. This will collect the fats and juices. For better non-stick performance, "season" the cooking surface of the hotplate by applying a thin coat of cooking oil.
- Connect the main plug to a suitable socket (kindly make sure the voltage and frequency should match the rating label on the product).
- Set the desired temperature by means of the temperature control. The indicator lamp lights up.
- The unit, on its first use, might emit light smell. It is however of no consequence and lasts only briefly. Ensure verification.
- As soon as this temperature is attained, the check light goes off.
- When the griddle has cooled down, the grill is heated up again automatically. The indicator lamp glows till the set temperature is attained again.
- Always turn the temperature control to "OFF" to switch off the griddle.
- Pull out the mains plug from the socket and pull the plug from the connecting socket.
- Carry the griddle only by the handles.
- Let the griddle cool down outside the reach of children.
CAUTION: Grill surfaces are hot during use.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: No parts should be placed in an automatic dishwasher.
- Unplug and allow to cool before cleaning or moving.
- Remove the probe and wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
CAUTION: Do not immerse the control probe in water or any other liquid.
- Remove drip tray and wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
CAUTION: Probe and probe receptacle must always be completely dry before use. The connection must be removed before the appliance is cleaned and the inlet must be dried before the appliance is used again.
HINTS FOR CARE AND USE OF NON-STICK SURFACE
- To avoid scratching the non-stick surface, do not stack objects on the grill.
- Use medium to low heat for best cooking results. Very high temperatures can cause discoloration and shorten the life span of any non-stick surface. If higher temperatures are necessary, preheat on medium for a few minutes.
- Use only nylon, plastic, or wooden utensils with care to avoid scratching the non-stick surface. Never cut food on the griddle.
- Remove stubborn stains with a plastic scouring pad and mild dish washing liquid.
DO NOT USE STEEL WOOL ON THE SURFACE PLATE OR ANY PART OF THIS PRODUCT.
STORAGE
Always dry the Grill before storing. Ensure the drip tray is correctly positioned. Store the Grill on a flat surface on your bench top or cupboard.
IF THE POWER CORD IS DAMAGED, IT MUST BE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER OR ITS SERVICE AGENT OR A SIMILARLY QUALIFIED PERSON IN ORDER TO AVOID A HAZARD.
