IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8 years.
If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or someone similarly qualified, to avoid hazard.

Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.
The surfaces of the appliance will get hot.
- Don't put frozen meat or poultry in the appliance – defrost fully before use.
- Cook meat, poultry, and derivatives (mince, burgers, etc.) till the juices run clear. Cook fish till the flesh is opaque throughout.
- Don't try to cook anything in the body of the cooker – cook only in the removable bowl.
- Don't cover the appliance or put anything on top of it.
- Unplug the appliance when not in use.
- Don't use accessories or attachments other than those we supply.
- Don't use the appliance for any purpose other than those described in these instructions.
- Don't use the appliance if it's damaged or malfunctions.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Wash the lid, steaming basket, bowl and measuring cup in warm soapy water, rinse and dry.
PREPARATION
- Sit the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface, near a power socket.
- Don't use the appliance near or below curtains, shelves, cupboards, or anything else likely to be damaged by the escaping steam.
- Have oven gloves (or a cloth) to hand, and a heat-resistant mat or dinner plate to put the bowl on after cooking.
- Plug the unit in to a supply socket.
COOKING RICE
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Add the rice first then the water to the cooking bowl. For white rice use the CUP markings inside the bowl. For example, if you add 2 cups of rice, add water to the 2 CUP mark.

- For brown rice, use the measuring cup to add the water according to the following table:

- Fit the lid.
- Press the button. The light above the button will come on.
- When the rice is cooked, a beep will sound and the appliance will switch to the keep warm setting.
• Always fill the measure so it is level (not heaped).
SLOW COOKING FUNCTION
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Add the ingredients to the bowl according to the recipe.
- Fit the lid.
- Press the button. The light above the button will come on.
The slow cooker function is fixed at 8 hours. After 8 hours, a beep will sound and the appliance will switch to the keep warm setting. If your recipe has less cooking time than this, you will have to manually stop cooking at the appropriate time by pressing the button.
RISOTTO FUNCTION
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Fit the stirring arm over the prongs on the central drive shaft in the bowl (FIG A). Turn it clockwise to lock.
- Add a small amount of cooking oil or butter to the bowl then press the 📄 button. The light above the button will come on.
- Allow to preheat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add your ingredients (onion, garlic, etc.) and allow to cook for 4 - 5 minutes (or according to the recipe).
- Add the rice. Use the measuring cup and don't add more than 6 cups. Allow to cook until the rice starts to brown (or according to the recipe guidelines).
- Add the stock or water then fit the lid.
- When the risotto is cooked, a beep will sound and the appliance will switch to the keep warm setting.
SAUTÉ FUNCTION
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Add a small amount of cooking oil or butter to the bowl then press the 📄 button. The light above the button will come on.
- Allow to preheat.
- Add the ingredients and sauté them as desired.
PASTA/STEAM/BOIL FUNCTION
Pasta
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Fill the bowl to the 9 cup mark with hot or boiling water.
- Put the steaming basket into the bowl.
- Fit the lid.
- Press the button. The light above the button will come on.
- When the water has come back to the boil, put the pasta into the steaming basket.
- Cook the pasta for the amount of time according to the packet instructions.
- Once finished, press the button then unplug the unit to switch it off.
Steaming
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Fill the bowl to the 2 cup mark with hot or boiling water.
- Put the steaming basket into the bowl.
- Fit the lid.
- Press the button. The light above the button will come on.
- Once the water has started to boil and produce steam, put the ingredients to be steamed into the steaming basket.
- Once finished, press the button then unplug the unit to switch it off.

Boiling
- Put the bowl inside the base unit.
- Fill the bowl to the 8 cup mark with hot or boiling water.
- Fit the lid.
- Press the button. The light above the button will come on.
- Once the water has started to boil add the ingredients.
- Once finished, press the button then unplug the unit to switch it off.
KEEP WARM/CANCEL
The appliance will automatically switch to the keep warm setting after using any of the programmed functions. Pressing the button when a program is running will cancel the program. Pressing the button again will switch the appliance to the keep warm mode. This will maintain a temperature of approx. 60 - 80°C.
HINTS AND TIPS
- Do not overfill the appliance. Always leave a space of around 2.5cm from the top of the bowl to allow for expansion and for the contents to boil.
- Only use plastic or wooden utensils for stirring etc. Metal utensils will damage the non-stick surface of the bowl.
- Use oven mitts when handling the lid, bowl or steaming basket as they will become very hot during cooking and remain hot for some time afterwards. Exercise caution at all times.
- To prevent a hazard occurring, always remove the lid slowly with the inside of the lid directed away from you and other persons so that the steam escapes gradually. Condensation dropping from the inside of the lid will also be hot.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Switch off the appliance, unplug it and let it cool.
- Wash the lid, steaming basket, bowl and measuring cup in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
- Wipe all surfaces of the base unit with a clean damp cloth.
- Don't put any part of the appliance in a dishwasher.
- To ensure optimum heat transfer, always keep the outside of the bowl and the heating plate in the bottom of the base unit clean and free from food residue.

You may wash these parts in a dishwasher.
RECYCLING

To avoid environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances, appliances and rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries marked with one of these symbols must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. Always dispose of electrical and electronic products and, where applicable, rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries, at an appropriate official recycling/collection point.
