Names and Functions of Parts, Connecting/Disconnecting the Computer, Adjusting the Angle, Using Powered Serial Device
Names and Functions of Parts
The cradle allows your peripheral devices to function exactly as if they were connected directly to the computer. (Refer to "Description of Parts" in the "Operating Instructions" accompanying the computer.)
CAUTION
■ Do not touch the expansion bus connector or pins of the cradle. ■ Turn off the computer when disconnecting the devices.

A. Latch lock keyhole
With the Latch lock key, you can lock the latch.
B. Latch
C. Expansion Bus Connector
This connects to the expansion bus connector on the bottom of the computer.

D. Terminal Cover E. Security Lock
A Kensington cable can be connected.

F. HDMI Port
Connector for HDMI compatible digital display. It is not compatible with the analog display.
The display specifications of the maximum resolution, etc. that can be output differ according to the specifications of the device connected.
For details, refer to the specifications of the device connected.

It does not support serial mouse.
By changing the settings, you can connect the serial devices that require power supply.

NOTE
To open the terminal cover, hold the center of the terminal cover as illustrated.

CAUTION
■ Make sure to turn the computer off for connection/disconnection.
Do not connect or disconnect the cradle while the computer is powered on or in the sleep or hibernation mode.
Connecting
- Turn off the computer.
- Connect the AC cord to the AC-IN jack of the cradle.
Connect the AC cord into an AC outlet.

- Turn on the cradle. Switch the power switch.
- Connect the computer to the cradle.
- Lift up the latch if locked.
Move the latch upwards while pressing the latch lock button.

- Insert the computer into the cradle from above.
- Push the computer to the back.
- Lock the latch until it clicks.

CAUTION
- Do not attempt to make connections if there is any object between the computer and the cradle. Doing so could damage the computer and the cradle.
NOTE
See the computer's Reference Manual for connecting and setting up USB devices, external displays, and LAN. When connecting external displays to both the HDMI port and the VGA port, the screen will not appear on the external display connected to the VGA port. If the image on the external display connected to the cradle has stopped, remove the computer from the cradle, and then reconnect it.
CAUTION
Firmly lock the latch as shown in the illustration.

Do not disconnect when the computer is communicating with the cradle and other devices. When connecting USB devices, HDMI-compatible displays, headsets, or headphones to the computer connected to the cradle, make sure that the computer does not come off the cradle. If the computer malfunctions while the cradle is attached, disconnect the cradle and check to see if the computer operates normally. If the computer operates normally, the cradle may be malfunctioning. Contact Panasonic Technical Support.
Disconnecting
- Turn off the computer.
- Disconnect the computer.
- Move the latch upwards while pressing the latch lock button.
- Pull the computer to the front.
- Hold and lift up the computer.

Adjusting the angle
CAUTION
Keep hands and fingers away from all moving parts when adjusting the screen angle.
- Adjust the screen angle with both hands.

Using powered serial device
Serial ports of this product support powered serial devices.
CAUTION
■ Attention Customers: Do not open the jumper switch cover by yourself. The settings must be changed by qualified professionals. When using powered serial devices, be sure to contact qualified professionals. ■ Attention Qualified professionals: Correctly perform the procedure in accordance with the following. After setting change, we recommend that you mark it.
To use powered serial devices, perform the procedure below.
- Turn over the cradle.
- Open the Jumper switch cover.
- Turn off the cradle and remove the AC cord.

- Change the position of PINs.

- Close the Jumper switch cover.
CAUTION
- When using a "+12V" or "+5V" mode, do not connect serial devices that aren't requiring power supply. Doing so may cause malfunction of the devices.
