Frequently Asked Questions - GXT 158 TRUST

How to adjust the DPI (sensitivity) of the mouse?
To adjust the sensitivity, press the DPI button (usually under the scroll wheel). Each press cycles through the predefined levels: 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, 12800. You can also configure these values via the Trust GXT Software.
The mouse is not responding or not lighting up, what to do?
First check that the USB cable is properly connected to a functional port. Try another USB port or another computer to isolate a hardware issue. If no response, the cable or connector may be damaged. Contact Trust customer service for possible warranty support.
How to change the RGB backlight color?
The backlight can be configured via the Trust GXT Software. You can choose fixed colors, cycling effects, breathing effects, or custom patterns. Some models also allow changing the mode by pressing the scroll wheel or a specific button (see the manual).
The programmable buttons are not working, how to configure them?
Download and install the Trust GXT Software. Open it, select your mouse, then assign the desired actions to each button (keys, macros, application launches). Save the profile and make sure it is active. If the software detects the mouse but the buttons remain unresponsive, reinstall the USB driver.
How to properly clean my mouse?
Unplug the mouse. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth (no excess liquid) to wipe the exterior surfaces. For hard-to-reach areas (between buttons), you can use a soft-bristle brush or a wooden toothpick. Never use harsh chemicals, alcohol, or solvents. Dry with a dry cloth before reconnecting.
Is this mouse compatible with game consoles (PS4, Xbox)?
The Trust GXT 158 mouse is designed for computers (Windows, Mac, Linux). On a console, it may be recognized if the console supports standard USB peripherals, but not all features (backlighting, programmable buttons, software) will be accessible. Consult your console's documentation for more information.
The cable is too short, can I use an extension?
Yes, you can use a standard USB extension. Make sure it is of good quality and does not exceed 3 meters to avoid signal loss or power issues. The original cable is about 1.8 meters.
Is there software to customize the settings?
Yes, Trust offers the Trust GXT Software (available on the official website). It allows you to modify DPI levels, assign actions to buttons, manage gaming profiles, adjust backlighting, and update firmware. The software is compatible with Windows and Mac.
What is the warranty period and how to activate it?
The Trust GXT 158 mouse has a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. To activate it, keep the proof of purchase (receipt, invoice). In case of an issue, contact the retailer or Trust customer service with this proof. The warranty does not cover accidental damage or misuse.
What to do if the mouse performs unintended double-clicks or a click does not respond?
Unintended double-clicking is often due to wear of the micro switch under the button. First try adjusting the double-click sensitivity in the operating system settings. If the problem persists, internal cleaning may help: blow compressed air around the button. As a last resort, the micro switch may need to be replaced by a professional. If the mouse is under warranty, contact Trust customer support.
