OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Description of the product and how it works
The GW1X 681 transponder reader is a KNX / EIB device used for access monitoring by means of the recognition of a transponder card;
the system can be customised, it is versatile and modular and can be adapted for all types of applications (access to offices, hospital wards, hotel rooms, swimming pools, saunas, sporting facilities, restricted areas, carparks etc.).
The device is fitted with three physical ON/OFF inputs to control the door open/closed switch or other signals (window contact, bathroom alarm etc).
The device has two 24Vac relays which are used, for instance, to control the lock on doors, to control "courtesy lights" or other.
4 LEDs are assembled on the front of the reader:
- red/green led, "access granted" or "access denied", identified by the key icon.
- greed led, programmable from ETS as desired, use for instance for "Redo Room"
- red led, programmable from ETS as desired, use for instance for "Room Busy" or "Do Not Disturb"
- amber led, programmable from ETS as desired, use for instance for "Help Requested"
The transponder is read when it is placed in front of the reader, at a maximum distance of 30 mm.
The configuration of the device, the physical address, parameters and communication object are all performed using the ETS software (EIB Tool Software).
The product database can be downloaded from our website at www.gewiss.com, (product area - Domotics)
The transponder reader is fitted inside a standard flush-mounted box, and mounted on Chorus supports in the space of three modules.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Front view
Two-colour LED : it is normally switched off and lights up:
fixed green light for 3 seconds: signals the opening of the lock (card recognised);
fixed red light for 3 seconds : access denied, signals that unrecognised cards cannot open the lock;
green light blinking for 3 seconds: access denied, in the case the card is recognised, expiry date (if enabled) or the day of the week are valid, but the time frame is not valid;
red/green lights both blinking: during the transfer of ETS parameters, and for roughly one second after power up.
Red blinking: card write error.
