Frequently Asked Questions - CV30RL EBODE

How do I connect my EBODE CV30RL device?

Connect your video source (camera, console, etc.) to the Composite input (yellow RCA) and audio to the red/white inputs. Connect the HDMI output to your TV. Power on using the included 5V adapter.

Why is there no video signal at the HDMI output?

Check that your source is powered on and the composite cable is properly connected. Ensure the converter is powered (LED on). Try switching the source on the TV. The CV30RL only converts analog signals (PAL/NTSC).

What HDMI resolution does the CV30RL converter output?

The CV30RL converts the analog signal to 720p or 1080p (depending on mode). By default, it outputs 720p, but it can be switched to 1080p via a button or switch on the unit (check your model).

Does the CV30RL work with a VCR or analog camera?

Yes, it accepts PAL and NTSC signals from VCRs, surveillance cameras, retro consoles, etc. Ensure the source outputs composite and stereo audio.

Can I use the CV30RL without connecting audio?

Yes, audio is optional. The HDMI output will carry video only if nothing is connected to the audio inputs. However, some TVs may not display an image without an audio signal, but this is rare.

How can I tell if the converter is powered on?

A blue (or green) LED lights up on the unit when 5V power is connected. If the LED does not light up, check the power adapter and outlet.

Does the CV30RL introduce lag in the image?

The converter processes the signal in real time with negligible delay (less than 1 ms). It is therefore suitable for retro gaming and live applications.

Can I connect multiple sources to the CV30RL?

No, the CV30RL has only one composite input. For multiple sources, use an AV switch upstream of the converter.

Does the converter get hot normally?

Slight heat is normal. If the device becomes very hot, check ventilation and do not cover it. In case of overheating, unplug it and contact customer service.

What should I do if the image is unstable or black and white?

Check the format of your source (PAL/NTSC). The CV30RL automatically detects the standard, but a weak signal may cause issues. Try another composite cable or another source.

1. Conformity of Use

For carefree and safe use of this product, please read this manual and safety information carefully and follow the instructions. The unit is registered as a device that does not cause or suffer from radio-frequency interference. It is CE approved and it conforms with the Low Voltage Directory. The safety and installation instructions must be observed. Technical manipulation of the product, or any changes to the product, are forbidden, due to security and approval issues. Please take care to set up the device correctly - consult your user guide. Young children should use the device only under adult supervision. No guarantee or liability will be accepted for any damage caused due to incorrect use of the equipment supplied, other than indicated in this owner's manual.

Safety warnings

• To prevent short circuits, this product (except if specified for outdoor usage) should only be used inside and only in dry spaces. Do not expose the components to rain or humidity.
• Only connect the power cord to the mains after checking whether the mains voltage is the same as the values on the rating labels. Never connect a power cord when it is damaged. In that case, contact your supplier. If there is any danger of a thunderstorm, it is a good precaution to unplug the power supply from the mains network in order to protect it from lightning. The same applies if the system is to be out of action for any length of time.
• Avoid strong mechanical tear and wear, extreme ambient temperatures, strong vibrations and atmospheric humidity.
• Do not disassemble any part of the product: the device contains live parts and no user-serviceable parts are inside. The product should only be repaired or serviced by qualified and authorized service personnel. Defected pieces must be replaced by original (spare) parts.

2. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the ebode CV30RL. The CV30RL offers a solution for connecting digital and analogue audio sources. With the CV30RL you can listen to your modern digital TV with digital output, on your analog sound system with analogue input. It converts S/PDIF or TOSLINK digital audio to L/R analogue audio with a digital interpolation filter and digital to analogue converter. A perfect solution that supports up to 6 channels (up to 5.1 Surround) of audio encoded in Dolby Digital with raw audio with auto sample rate of 32, 44.1, 48 KHz and 24-bit incoming Bitstream on the left and right channels.
