How do I install the aroma cartridge holder on the fluff filter?

Lift the fluff filter out of the door, turn it around, push the angled tab into the upper opening, then swing the holder down until the straight tab clicks into the lower opening.

How do I insert and activate the aroma cartridge?

Hold the cartridge upright, remove the seal, push it into the holder until it clicks. Turn the outer ring clockwise until you feel resistance and hear a soft click. The marking ② should align with ①.

How do I adjust the aroma intensity?

After inserting the cartridge, turn the outer ring on the fluff filter clockwise to increase intensity (from weak to strong). Turn anticlockwise to reduce or close completely to avoid leakage.

Why is no aroma released during the Cool Air programme?

The aroma system only activates with heat. In the Cool Air programme, no heat is used, so the fragrance is not dispensed.

How do I remove the aroma cartridge after drying?

Hold the fluff filter upright, turn the outer ring anticlockwise until markings ① and ② line up, then pull out the cartridge. Store it upright in its packaging to prevent leaks.

Can I reuse an empty aroma cartridge?

No. Empty cartridges must be disposed of with household waste. Do not refill them; the mechanism may leak or cause damage.

What should I do if aroma liquid spills?

Wipe up immediately with an absorbent cloth. If it contacts skin, wash with soap and water. For eyes, rinse for 15 minutes. If swallowed, rinse mouth and seek medical advice.

How do I clean the fluff filter if an aroma cartridge is installed?

Warning and Safety instructions

▶ Use only original Miele fragrance flacons (aroma cartridges) and holders in Miele tumble dryers which are adapted to take them.

▶ Aroma cartridges must be stored in their packaging.

▶ Take care as the aroma liquid can leak out. Hold the aroma cartridge or the fluff filter with the aroma cartridge mounted on it upright. Do not lay it down or tip it. See the diagrams on the fold-out pages at the back.

Wipe up any spilt aroma liquid immediately with an absorbent cloth: from the floor, from the dryer or from dryer components (e.g. fluff filter).

If spilt aroma liquid comes into contact with: Skin clean thoroughly with soap and water. Eyes rinse for at least 15 minutes with clean water. If it is swallowed, rinse the mouth thoroughly with clean water. Seek medical advice if aroma liquid has come into contact with the eyes or has been swallowed.

Change any clothing which has come into contact with spilt aroma liquid immediately. Clean clothing or linen thoroughly using plenty of water and detergent.
The following must be observed to prevent the risk of fire or damage to the tumble dryer:

• Do not refill the aroma cartridge.
• Do not use a damaged aroma cartridge.
  ▶ Dispose of empty cartridges with the household waste and do not reuse elsewhere.
  Keep this booklet with the operating instructions for the tumble dryer.
  ▶ Also observe any additional information provided with the aroma cartridge.

Refer to the diagrams for the letters A), B), C) ... and the numbered text below.

A) Fitting the cartridge holder

① Lift the fluff filter out of the tumble dryer door and turn it around.

Fit the holder in the fluff filter space:

2 Push the angled tab on the holder into the upper opening in the fluff filter (1.).

3 Swing the holder downwards until the straight tab clicks into the lower opening (2.).

B) Inserting the aroma cartridge

Hold the aroma cartridge as shown. Do not incline or tip the cartridge, as aroma liquid could leak out.

① Hold the aroma cartridge tightly to prevent it from opening accidentally. Remove the protective seal.

2 Push the aroma cartridge into the holder as far as it will go.

③ The markings ① and ② must line up.

4 Turn the outer ring Ⓡ clockwise a little.

- There will be a little resistance and a soft "click".

5 The marking ② must be located in position ①: this is the position where the resistance is felt.

C) Before drying

Adjust the intensity of the aroma as follows:

Hold the fluff filter upright without tipping it.

① Lift the fluff filter out of the tumble dryer door and turn it around.
2 Turn the outer ring clockwise a little: the aroma intensity can be adjusted in a number of stages from weak, through stronger
③ ... to intensive.

The wider the aroma cartridge is opened, the more intense the aroma.

Then replace the fluff filter the right way around in the tumble dryer door.

Satisfactory aroma transfer only occurs with damp laundry and longer drying times with sufficient heat transfer. The aroma will be evident in the room where the dryer is located.

Aroma is not dispensed in the Cool air programme.

D) After drying

Hold the fluff filter upright without tipping it.

① Lift the fluff filter out of the tumble dryer door and turn it around.
To avoid leakage of aroma liquid:
2 Turn the outer ring anti-clockwise, until the marking ② is located in position ①.

If you wish to tumble dry without using the aroma: Remove the aroma cartridge and store it in its packaging (see below).

E) Cleaning the fluff filter

⚠️ The aroma cartridge must be removed. The holder can be removed.

If the fluff filters or fine filter (depending on model) are not cleaned, aroma intensity is reduced.

Removing the aroma cartridge

Hold the fluff filter upright without tipping it.

1 Lift the fluff filter out of the tumble dryer door and turn it around.
2 Turn the outer ring anti-clockwise, until the markings ① and ② line up.
③ Remove the aroma cartridge.

4+5 Do not lay the aroma cartridge down.

Store it in its packaging to prevent leakage of aroma liquid.

6 Remove any fluff, including from the door recess: see the operating instructions supplied with the tumble dryer.

Removing the holder (if necessary)

7 Press the straight tab downwards (1.) and push the holder gently upwards (2.).
8 Pull the straight tab on the holder out of the lower opening in the fluff filter (3.).
9 Pull the angled tab on the holder out of the upper opening in the fluff filter (4.).

Clean the holder.

Buying/storing aroma cartridges

When aroma intensity fades, replacement aroma cartridges can be ordered from Miele or via the internet at www.miele-shop.com.

Store/keep aroma cartridges upright in their sales packaging

• Do not store them on their side or upside down, as they could leak.
• Store in a cool and dry place.
• Do not expose to direct sunlight
• Only remove seal immediately before use
