WARNING! RISK OF SCALDING!

AQUAPUR ADR 1300 B3 - WARNING! RISK OF SCALDING! - 1

This symbol warns you about escaping steam. Pay heed to the safety instructions!

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

▶ First carry out a test on an unobtrusive area to be certain that the material is suitable for cleaning with high pressure steam, for instance:

  • Painted wood or leather can be bleached by steam.
  • Unprotected wood can swell up.
  • Protective wax coatings can be dissolved by steam.
  • Plastics can become tarnished from the effects of steam.
  • Soft plastics can deform when exposed to steam.

- Cold glass or mirror surfaces can crack on encountering hot steam.

▶ If you wish to clean windows, you must first preheat them, for instance by applying the steam over large areas from a greater distance, then moving in progressively closer.

Acrylics, velvet and silk react sensitively to hot steam, as do plastic fi bres.

Assembling the squeegee

1) Open the large screw on the retainer of the squeegee ⑪, such that you can push in the metal rail with the rubber lip.
2) Thereby ensure that the broad side of the metal rail is at the top.
3) Retighten the large screw.

Using the appliance

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

To ensure faultfree operation and a long service life for the appliance, pay heed to the following instructions:

▶ First press the steam lever ① when the gen control lamp ⑦ glows. If you press too early it may cause an accumulation of hot water in the appliance, which will drip or spray from the nozzle. There is a risk of being scalded.
▶ Before switching the appliance off, always allow all of the steam to drain out by pressing the steam lever ① until no more steam exits from the nozzle.

Filling/refilling with water

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

▶ Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket before you add water to the water tank ③!

1) Turn the water tank ③ such that the marking on the water tank points to the open lock 📋 on the appliance. The water tank can then be detached from the appliance.

2) Open the lid of the water tank ③.

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

▶ Do not put any additives or cleaning agents in the water tank ③!

3) Fill the water tank ③ with water. Ensure that you never fill the tank with more water than up to the MAX marking, and never less than up to the MIN marking.

Should the mains water at your locality be rated as hard, it is recommended that you mix the mains water with distilled water. Otherwise, the appliance could calcify prematurely and clog the steam nozzle 10.

To extend the optimal functioning of the appliance, mix the mains water with distilled water as per the following table.

Water hardnessRatios - distilled water to mains water
very soft/soft0
medium 1:1
hard 2:1
very hard 3:1

The water hardness level can be queried at your local water works.

4) Replace the lid on the water tank ③.
5) Place the water tank ③ slightly offset below the appliance, so that the marking on the water tank points to the open lock 📋 on the appliance.
6) Turn the water tank ③ so far that the marking points to the closed lock 🔒. Thereby, ensure that the hose that sucks the water up is always lying in the front area of the water tank ③. If you do not, it may happen that during use some water will remain in the water tank ③.

Taking the appliance into use

1) Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The red control lamp ⑥ glows.
2) As soon as the appliance is ready for use the green control lamp ⑦ starts to glow - the red control lamp ⑥ continues to glow.

NOTICE

▶ During the heating up period it can happen that there is an occasional escape of steam from the steam nozzle 10.

3) Press the steam lever ① downwards. The pump pumps water into the heater element, steam is generated and exits from the steam nozzle ⑩. Should the steam blast subside, continue to hold the steam lever ⑪ down. More water is pumped in and after a short time the steam vapour level increases.

NOTICE

If water drips from the steam nozzle ⑩ during operation, release the steam lever ①. The appliance must first heat up again. Wait until the green control lamp ⑦ glows again..

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

▶ Should you leave the switched on appliance unused for an extended period, although the steam lever ① is not pressed it can happen that steam escapes!

Areas of application

For cleaning, you can use either steam directly from the steam nozzle ⑩ or fit an accessory.

Do not use an accessory if you want to clean for example toilets and sinks, taps and drains, windows, furniture, fabrics, shutters or mirrors. You can easily remove water, together with the dissolved soiling, on smooth surfaces with the squeegee ⑪ after cleaning.

NOTICE

The closer the nozzle is to the surface to be cleaned, the better the effect, as both steam pressure and temperature are at their highest directly at the nozzle exit.

■ Use the curved nozzle ⑨ for tight corners or joints, or hard to reach places.

■ Use the round brush ⑧ for stubborn soiling, for example, on wheel rims.

Attaching/detaching accessories

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

▶ Always remove the plug from the mains power socket before you attach/detach an accessory.
▶ Wait until the appliance has cooled down before you attach / detach an accessory.
▶ Wait until all of the steam has drained away before you attach / detach an accessory.

1) Place the attachment slightly offset on the steam nozzle ⑩, so that the small retainers grip into the rails inside the accessory.
2) Turn the attachment so that it sits firmly on the steam nozzle 10.
3) To remove the accessory, turn it so far that you can lift it away from the steam nozzle 10.

Child protection system

This appliance is equipped with a child protection system.

To activate the child protection system, slide the "Child Safety" switch ② upwards to the symbol 🔒. The steam lever ① can now no longer be pressed down.
To deactivate the child protection system, slide the "Child Safety" switch ② downwards to the symbol 🔍. The steam lever ① can now be activated again.

▶ Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it!

WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE!

▶ Do not use abrasive, aggressive or chemical cleaning agents! They could irreparably damage the upper surfaces!

1) Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
2) Allow the appliance to cool down.
3) Empty the water tank ③.
4) Clean the appliance, the water tank ③ and the accessories with a moist cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.

Scale removal

1) Place descaler suitable for household appliances with water into the water tank ③. Pay heed to the instructions given by the manufacturer of the descaler. Never fill the water tank ③ with more water than to the MAX marking.
2) Place the switch "Anti-calc Function" ④ at the position "I".
3) Replace the water tank ③ back onto the appliance.
4) Remove the tip of the steam nozzle ⑩, in that you use a coin or similar to unscrew the tip.
5) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
6) Hold the appliance over a sink and press and hold the steam lever ① down. After a short time (about 1.5 minutes) hot water drips from the steam nozzle ⑩ and fl ushes the dissolved limestone and soiling out of the appliance.
7) When the water from the water tank ③ is depleted and there is no more water in the appliance, release the steam lever ①. Check to ensure that the water with the descaler is completely used up. For this, tilt the appliance forwards.
8) Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
9) Remove the water tank ③ and place the switch "Anti-calc Function" ④ at the position "O"
10) Wait until the appliance has cooled down and then screw the tip of the steam nozzle ⑩ back onto the appliance.

Storage

1) Store the cleaned and dried appliance at a clean and dust-free location.
2) Wrap the power cable around the attached water tank and secure the end with the yellow clip on the power cable.
