Your 332000/332001 Princess vacuum cleaner has been designed for vacuuming dry substances. The appliance is not suitable for vacuuming wet substances. The appliance is suitable for domestic use only.

Assembly

Before you proceed, we need you to pay attention to the following notes:

Mounting and removing the dust compartment (fig. B)

  • Make sure that the motor filter and the HEPA filter are placed in the filter holder and the filter holder is placed in the dust compartment.

To mount the dust compartment, pull the release lever (5) and place the dust compartment (4) onto the appliance until it clicks into place.

Mounting and removing the hose (fig. C)

To mount the hose (6), insert the hose • outlet (15) into the hose connection (16) and turn the hose outlet (15) clockwise as far as possible.

To remove the hose (6), turn the hose outlet • (15) counterclockwise and pull the hose outlet (15) from the hose connection (16).

Mounting and removing the tube (fig. D)

To mount the tube (7), insert the hose inlet • (17) into the tube outlet (18).

To remove the tube (7), pull the hose inlet • (17) from the tube outlet (18).

Mounting and removing the suction nozzle (fig. E)

The suction nozzle (9) can be mounted to the extension tube (8).

To mount the suction nozzle (9), insert the tube inlet (19) into the tube connection (20).

To remove the suction nozzle (9), pull the tube inlet (19) from the tube connection (20).

Mounting and removing the accessories (fig. D & E)

The crevice nozzle (11) can be used for vacuuming in narrow and hard-to-reach places. The brush nozzle (12) can be used for vacuuming tables, desks and shelves.

The upholstery nozzle (13) can be used for vacuuming upholstery, curtains and other items made of fabric. The accessories can be mounted to the hose (6) or to the extension tube (8).

To mount the accessory to the hose (6), insert the hose inlet (17) into the accessory. To mount the accessory to the extension tube (8), insert the tube inlet (19) into the accessory.

To remove the accessory, pull the accessory from the hose inlet (17) or the tube inlet (19).

Use

Unwinding and rewinding the mains cable (fig. A)

The mains cable rewind button (2) can be operated by hand or foot.

Before you proceed, we would like you to focus your attention on the following notes:

  • Do not unwind or rewind the mains cable while the appliance is switched on.
  • Always hold the mains plug to unwind the mains cable. Do not pull the mains cable. Before use, hold the mains plug and unwind a sufficient length of the mains cable from the back of the appliance.
    After use, press the mains cable rewind · button (2) to rewind the mains cable back into the appliance. Manually guide the mains cable to make sure that it does not swing back. Make sure that the mains plug is correctly located.

Adjusting the length of the tube (fig. E)

The extension tube (8) can be adjusted in 19 steps.

Keep the locking knob (21) pressed and slide the extension tube (8) to the required position.

Release the locking knob (21).

Adjusting the suction nozzle (fig. F)

The floor surface selector (10) can be set to adjust the suction nozzle (9) to the required floor surface. The floor surface selector (10) can be operated by hand or foot.

For vacuuming on laminates, tiles, etc., press the corresponding part (A) of the floor surface selector (10).

For vacuuming on carpets, press the corresponding part (B) of the floor surface selector (10).

Switching on and off (fig. A)

The on/off button (1) can be operated by hand or foot.

To switch on the appliance, press the on/ off button (1).

To switch off the appliance, press the on/• off button (1) again.

Temporarily storing the accessories (fig. G)

The crevice nozzle (11), the brush nozzle (12) and the upholstery nozzle (13) can be mounted to the accessory holder (14) for easily changing the accessories during use.

Cleaning and replacing the HEPA filter (fig. B, I, J & K)

The appliance is equipped with a HEPA filter. The HEPA filter is a special air filter which removes more than 99% of the dust particles that otherwise would recirculate back into the air. The HEPA filter must be cleaned regularly. The HEPA filter must be replaced after several months or whenever worn or damaged.

Replacement HEPA filters are available from our service station.

Before you proceed, we would like you to focus your attention on the following notes:

  • Do not wash or rinse the HEPA filter.
  • Do not tap the HEPA filter itself to avoid damage to the filter.

Remove the dust compartment (4). Refer to the section „Mounting and removing the dust compartment”.

Remove the filter holder (22) from the dust · compartment (4).

Remove the cover (23) from the filter • holder (22).

Remove the HEPA filter (24) from the filter • holder (22).

Carefully tap the edge of the HEPA filter • (24) to remove the dust particles. If the filter is worn, use a new filter.

Place the HEPA filter (24) into the filter · holder (22).

Mount the cover (23) to the filter holder • (22).

Place the filter holder (22) into the dust · compartment (4).

Mount the dust compartment (4). Refer to the section „Mounting and removing the dust compartment“.

Cleaning and replacing the prefilter and the electrostatic filter (fig. B, I & J)

The prefilter and the electrostatic filter reduce the amount of dust entering the motor unit to a minimum. The prefilter and the electrostatic filter must be cleaned regularly. The prefilter and the electrostatic filter must be replaced whenever damaged. Replacement filters are available from our service station.

Before you proceed, we would like you to focus your attention on the following notes:

- Do not wash or rinse the prefilter and the electrostatic filter.

Remove the dust compartment (4). Refer to the section „Mounting and removing the dust compartment“.

Remove the filter holder (22) from the dust compartment (4).

Remove the cover (23) from the filter holder • (22).

Remove the HEPA filter (24) from the filter • holder (22).

Remove the prefilter (25) and the electrostatic filter (26) from the filter holder (22).

Remove the dust from the filters using a soft brush. If the filter is damaged, use a new filter.

Place the prefilter (25) and the electrostatic filter (26) into the filter holder (22).

Place the HEPA filter (24) into the filter • holder (22).

Mount the cover (23) to the filter holder • (22).

Place the filter holder (22) into the dust · compartment (4).

Mount the dust compartment (4). Refer to the section „Mounting and removing the dust compartment“.

Troubleshooting

Refer to the table below to solve problems yourself. If you are not able to solve the problem yourself, contact our service station.

• The appliance does not float.

  • It is difficult for the appliance to float when there is much height difference.
  • The floor surface is very uneven.
  • If one of the filters is clogged, clean or replace the filter.

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour markings identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

If a 13Amp (BS1363) plug is used, a 13Amp (BS1362) fuse must be fitted, or if any other type of plug is used, a 13Amp fuse must be fitted, either in the plug or adaptor, or on the distribution board.

This is a double-insulated appliance and does not need an earth connection.

Warning! On no account should either the live or neutral wires be connected to the earth terminal.
