• The warranty will be invalidated if the device is used for purposes other than those for which it is intended.
• The scale has been manufactured for domestic use. It is not suitable for commercial use in hospitals or other medical institutions.
• Do not use the device if it is not working correctly, if it has been dropped or has fallen into water or has been damaged.
• The scale has a measuring range up to 180 kg (396 lb). Do not overload the device.

- Place the scale on a firm, level base. Soft, uneven surfaces are unsuitable for the measuring process and lead to incorrect results.

- Do not use the scale in a location where extremely high temperatures or humidity may occur.

- Keep the scale away from water.

- Handle the scale with care. The scale must not be subjected to impacts or vibration. Do not drop the scale.

- Stand carefully on the scale.

- Do not attempt to dismantle the scale, otherwise the warranty will be invalidated. This unit contains no user-maintainable or user-replaceable parts.

- Do not attempt to repair the device yourself in the event of a malfunction since this will invalidate the warranty. Repairs should only be carried out by authorised service centres.

This unit is intended for weighing people.

To ensure that your Solar scale PSS provides successful results for a long time, we recommend that you read carefully through the following notes on their use and care.

2.1

Items supplied and packaging

Please check first of all that the unit is complete and is not damaged in any way. If in doubt, do not use the appliance.

The following parts are included as standard:

• 1 Instruction manual

The packaging can be reused or recycled. Please dispose properly of any packaging material no longer required. If you notice any transport damage during unpacking, please contact your dealer without delay.

WARNING

Please ensure that polybag packing is kept away from reach of children! Risk of suffocation!

2.2

Prerequisites for correct measuring results

Reliable measurements can only be achieved under certain pre-requisites:

• Always weigh yourself under the same conditions.
• Always weigh yourself at the same time of day.
- Stand up straight and stand still.
- Weigh yourself preferably in the morning, after showering or bathing, and with dry feet.

It is possible to obtain a reliable indication of body weight development from the results if measurements are carried out consistently.

3.1

Solar operation

This scale is solar-powered and needs an adequate level of light for correct functionality.

Place the solar scale on a stable, firm surface wh being exposed directly to natural or room light (see figure).

Before first use, the solar cells need to be initially charged for at least 10 minutes.

If the solar power is not enough, the display will show "LO". In this case, please move the scale to a brighter place.

If the place is not bright enough, then there is a possibility that the scale may not even show or "0.0".

A constant serviceability is guaranteed in places with min. approx. 100 LUX brightness, which is equivalent to a normal room lighting.

3.2 Weighing

1. Place the scale on a stable, firm surface. All four feet must be touching the floor. Uneven and soft flooring affects measuring accuracy.
2. Always weigh yourself on the same scale, at the same place and at the same time. Weigh yourself without clothing, before meals, preferably in the morning before breakfast.
3. If you stand with both feet on the scale, “” appears 0.0 kg The values change while your weight is beeing determined. When the measurement has stabilised, the display flashes twice and then finally your weight is displayed. As long as you stay on the scale your measured weight is displayed. Step down from the scale. The scale switches off automatically after 8 seconds.

NOTE

If the scale has been transported or moved, you need to initialize it before use. Therefore tap on the surface lightly with your foot. The display shows "0.0 kg" (or "0.0 lb"). Wait, until the scale will switch off. The scale is now ready. If the scale has not been moved, this procedure is not required.

3.3 Change the Unit of Weight

You may change the unit of weight of tMEDISANAalPSS Turn the scale over and select the unit of weight (KG or LB) by pressing the black changeover switch ^2

3.4 Error messages

"LO" The solar cells are not providing enough energy. Move the scale to a brighter place and wait at least 10 minutes, before you use the scale again, so that the solar cells can become charged.

"ERR" The scale is overloaded.

4.1 Care and maintenance

• Never use aggressive cleaning agents or stiff brushes.
• Use a mild household detergent and clean the surfaces only with a lightly moistened cloth.
• Do not allow any water to get into the unit. Do not immerse the device in water. Do not use the unit again until it is completely dry.
• Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight; protect it against dirt and moisture.

4.2 Disposal

This product must not be disposed together with the domestic waste. Hand in a no longer required unit at a municipal or commercial collection point so that it can be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable manner.

Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for information about disposal.

5.1 Warranty and repair terms

Please contact your dealer or the service centre in case of a claim under the warranty. If you have to return the unit, please enclose a copy of your receipt and state what the defect is.

The following warranty terms apply:

1. The warranty period for MEDISANA products is three years from date of purchase. In case of a warranty claim, the date of purchase has to be proven by means of the sales receipt or invoice.
2. Defects in material or workmanship will be removed free of charge within the warranty period.
3. Repairs under warranty do not extend the warranty period either for the unit or for the replacement parts.

4. The following is excluded under the warranty:
   a. All damage which has arisen due to improper treatment, e.g. non-observance of the user instructions.
   b. All damage which is due to repairs or tampering by the customer or unauthorised third parties.
   c. Damage which has arisen during transport from the manufacturer to the consumer or during transport to the service centre.
   d. Accessories which are subject to normal wear and tear (batteries etc.).

5. Liability for direct or indirect consequential losses caused by the unit are excluded even if the damage to the unit is accepted as a warranty claim.
