WARNING – KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

Swallowing may lead to serious injuries in as little as 2 hours or death, due to chemical burns and potential perforation of the oesophagus.

If you suspect your child has swallowed or inserted a button battery, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 for fast, expert advice.

Examine devices and make sure the battery compartment is correctly secured, e.g. that the screw or other mechanical fastener is tightened. Do not use if compartment is not secure.

Dispose of used button batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.

2 Music mode: Press to sync light to music

3 Mode +: Cycles through modes (RGB, flash, fade)

4 Speed -: Decrease speed of LEDs

5 Brightness: Increase/decrease brightness of LEDs

6 RGBW: Change colour of LEDs

7 Power: Turns lights on/off

8 Speed +: Increase speed of LEDs

9 Auto: Enable auto mode

10 Mode -: Cycles through modes (fade, flash, RGB)

11 Colour +/-: Change and hold a specific solid colour until another colour is selected.

Before First Use

1. Attach the bases to the bottom of each lightbar, ensuring they are securely in place.
2. Connect the power adapter to the mating connector on the lightbar controller.
3. Connect the other end of the power adapter to an electrical outlet and turn it on.
4. Place the lightbars in the desired location.
5. Remove the plastic pull tab from the remote control.

Power On/Off

• Power On: Press the power button on the controller or the remote to turn the lightbars on.
• Power Off: Press the power button on the controller or the remote to turn the lightbars off.

Notes:

Do not cover the IR receiver, as the remote control will not receive the IR signal and will not work. If the remote control does not work, change the IR receiver's position or direction, or replace the remote control battery.

Pairing Mode

Press and hold the power button for 6 seconds to place the lights in pairing mode

Install App

Download the "Kogan SmarterHome" app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

To register:

1. If you already have a SmarterHome account, select 'Log In'. To register a new account, select 'Sign Up'.
2. The system will automatically recognise your country. If needed, you can manually select your country from the drop-down box. Enter your email address and tap 'Get Verification Code' to continue.
3. A 6-digit code will be sent to the submitted email address. Enter this code before the one-minute timer expires.
4. Continue to the next page and complete your SmarterHome profile.

Set device in pairing mode

When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (lightbars are rapidly flashing red).

If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device in pairing mode by pressing and holding the power button for 6 seconds until the lightbars are rapidly flashing red.

Add device through network

1. Once registered, tap "Add Device" on the app's home page, or the "+" in the upper right corner, to add a new device through the network.
2. Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Lighting > Smart Light strip).
3. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the status indicator is blinking rapidly, and tap "Next".
4. Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHome™ device and the app are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.

Notes:

• The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network.
  • The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks.
  • Depending on the product, Steps 3 and 4 may be in opposite order.

• Ensure that the device is in pairing mode, with the light flashing, and tap "Confirm light is rapidly flashing".

• The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your Wi-Fi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHome™ device are kept close until connection is complete.
• After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app's home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.

Notes:

Once connected, you can select Create Scene from the "+" in the upper right corner (or from the Scene tab) to group connected SmarterHome™ products and automate their functions.

Google Home Control

Note:

You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHome™ device.

Adding "SmarterHome" to the Google Home app

1. From the home page of the Google Home app, select the "+" icon (top left corner, see arrow in the below screenshot) to access the 'Add and manage' page.
2. Select 'Set up device', then select the 'Works with Google' option.

1. Select the search bar and type 'Smarter Home' to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ service.
2. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHome™ account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
3. Select "Kogan SmarterHome™" from the app options.

1. Tap 'Authorise' to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHome™ app and your devices.

2. Once connected, the app will display any compatible devices linked to your SmarterHome™ account. From here you can assign them to rooms and set up any routines. Tap on any of the devices to view a list of available commands.

By signing in, you are authorizing Google to control your devices. Authorize You can revise permission of any time.

1. From the home page of the Alexa app, select the " " icon in the bottom-right and select "Skills & Games" from the sidebar.
2. Select the search bar and type 'Smarter Home' to locate the Kogan SmarterHome™ skill.

Replacing the Remote Control Battery

1. On the bottom edge of the remote, hold the tab to the right and pull the door out of the remote
2. Remove the old battery and install a new CR2025 battery.

Note: When placed in the battery door, the '+' symbol on the battery should be facing upwards.

Troubleshooting

I cannot add the product to the SmarterHome App

• Ensure you are using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. This device only works with the 2.4GHz network and is not compatible with the 5GHz network. If no 2.4GHz network is active, you can activate it via your router settings.
• Ensure the device and your phone is within range of the router.

Cannot connect to the Wi-Fi network

Check your router settings:

• Configure the encryption method (security) to WPA2-PSK and authorisation type as AES. Or set both to automatic.
• Ensure the wireless MAC filtering function is active. If necessary, remove the device from the filtered devices to make sure the router is not blocking devices from connecting
• Ensure the Wi-Fi network password is correct.
