ELECTRIC KETTLE KH 1023 Intended Use This appliance is intended for the boilingup of water in domestic households. lt is not intended for use With other liquids or for commercial applications. Technical Data Voltage : 230 V - / 50 Hz Power consumption: 2200 W © In older electrical installations, the building fuse (12A) may be activated due to the high power consumption. Safety instructions To avoid potentially fatal injury through electric shock: *_ Ensure that the base with the electrical connections does not come into contact with water! Ensure that the base is completely dry before use, especial- ly iFit has been accidentally moistened. +_ Use the water boiler only with the supplied base. Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp during operation. Lay the cable such that it cannot get clamped or otherwise damaged. + Arrange for defective plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department. + Always remove the plug from the mains power socket after use. Switching the appliance off is not sufficient, because the appliance is under power for as long as the plug is connected to the mains power socket. À To avoid burns and other injuries: + Always heat water with the lid on, otherwise the automatic switch-off does not function correcily. Boiling water could then spray out over the rim. + Hot steam clouds may be released. Addifionally, the ketile becomes very hot during use. Ensure that the appliance is standing securely and vertically before switching it on. Boiling water can cause an unstable kettle to fall over. + This appliance is not intended for use by individuals {including children) with restricted physical, ies or deficiences physiological or intellectual abi in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. + Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. + Never place the ketile on hotplates or similar to heat water up. Use the kettle only with the supplied basel + Do not use an external timing switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance. If you do, you are taking a risk with your health! +_ Before taking the appliance into use, ensure that . +_the appliance, the plug and the power cable are in good working order and... -_ the power cable been completely unwound from the holder on the bottom of the appliance, and that... -_ all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance. Fillthe appliance with water up to the MAX mark and let it come to a full boil once - as described in the next section. + Pour this water away after the water has been boiled. *_ Rinse the water boiler out with clear water. Fillthe appliance with water once again up to the MAX marking on the scale @ and then bring it to the boil. When done, pour this water away also. The appliance is now ready for use. À Danger Never place the electrical base @ adjacent to water - a potentially fatal risk! Lift the ketile off of the base when filling it! Remove the lid @ in that you pull it upwards. + Hold the ketlle upright while filling it. Only in this way can you correcily read the markings on the scale ©. Fill the kettle … - at least to the MIN mark, so that the device does not overheat, - no higher than the MAX mark, so that no boiling water spills out. First close the lid @... + _andthen place the ketile on the base @ such that it is standing absolutely upright on the base @. + Now insert the plug into the mains power socket … +_ and press the ON/OFF switch @ downwards until it engages. +_ The pilot lamp integrated into the ON/OFF switch @ indicates that the appliance is now heating the water up. + _ The appliance switches itself off and the pilot lamp goes out as soon as the water is on the boil. The ON/OFF switch @ springs upwards. À Warning Remove the plug from the mains power socket before you lift the ketile from its base @. This prevents causing a potential short circuit by water possibly spilling out of the carafe and falling onto live electrical connections in the base @. À injury hazard For safety reasons, the lid @ should not be opened while the water is boiling or is very hot. There is a risk of receiving severe scalds.

Cleaning and Care À Danger Do not open any part of the housing. There are no userserviceable elements inside. An open housing can create the risk of a lethal electrical shock. @) Never submerse any paris ofthe appliance in water or other liquids! @Note Should the scale deposits on the pourer sieve @ be firmly setled, lay it in a watervinegar solution, with a ratio of 6:1, for a few hours. The scale deposits will dissolve themselves. Rinse the pourer sieve @ With copious amounits of clear water. Storage Allow the appliance to cool down completely before puting it into storage. +_ Wind the power cable around the holder on the bottom of the device. + Store the appliance in a dry place. Disposal & Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline 2002/96/EC. Dispose of the appliance through an approved waste disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre. Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
