Maintenance and Customer Service
Your Oreck Low Boy is a product of precise engineering. The motor bearings are permanently lubricated and should not be oiled. If you require additional information or have problems with your Oreck appliance, you may call ORECK customer service at:

Please specify the model number and serial/code number which can be found on the data plate on the back of the vacuum.
Save your sales or purchase slip. Should your Oreck appliance require warranty service in the U.S.A., present this slip to the Authorized Service Center as your proof of purchase date or, in Canada, call customer service.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Use indoors only.
- Risk of explosion - Floor sanding can result in an explosive mixture of fine dust and air. Use floor sanding machine only in well ventilated area.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Do not leave appliance unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center or call customer service at: 0800 67 68 69
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not run appliance over cord.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions.
- Unplug before installing or removing pads/cleaning brushes.
- Warning - To reduce the risk of fire, use only commercially available floor cleaners and waxes intended for machine application.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Do not use appliance in an enclosed space where flammable, explosive or toxic vapors are given off by oil base paint, paint thinner, some mothproofing substances, or in an area where flammable dust is present.
- Only use the brushes provided with the appliance or those specified in the instruction manual. The use of other brushes may impair safety.
- The appliance is suitable for commercial use, for example in hotels, schools, hospitals, factories, shops, offices and rental businesses.

Where Necessary for Plug to be Fitted
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue: Neutral Brown: Live Green: Earth
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows;
The wire which is coloured Blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured Black.
The wire which is coloured Brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured Red.
Green is to be connected to the earth pin of the 3 pin plug.
The wire which is coloured Green must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter E.

Warranty
ORECK MANUFACTURING COMPANY: (ORECK gives you the following limited warranty for this product only if it was originally purchased for use, not resale, from ORECK or an ORECK Authorized Retail Dealer.)
ORECK will repair or replace, free of charge, to the original purchaser, any part which is found to be defective in material or workmanship within one (1) year of the date of original purchase.
PAD DRIVER, CARPET BONNET, LAMBS WOOL BONNET, BRUSHES, PADS and other parts subject to normal wear are not covered by this limited warranty.
This limited warranty does not apply to any part subjected to accident, abuse, or alteration, misuse, damage caused by fire or act of God, the use of voltages other than indicated on the serial number plate of this product or service of this product by other than ORECK or an ORECK Factory Authorized Service Center.
ORECK does not authorize any person or representative to assume or grant any other warranty obligation with the sale of this product.
ORECK'S limited warranty is valid only if you retain proof of purchase from ORECK or an ORECK Authorized Retail Dealer for this product. If you purchase this product from any other source, your purchase is "AS IS," which means ORECK grants you no warranty, and that you, not ORECK, assume the entire risk of the quality and performance of this product, including the entire cost of any necessary servicing or repairs of any defects.
ORECK'S liability for damages to you for any costs whatsoever arising out of this statement of limited warranty shall be limited to the amount paid for this product at the time of original purchase, and ORECK shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages arising out of the use or inability to use this product.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR THIS PRODUCT, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY PERIOD, AND NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WILL APPLY AFTER THIS PERIOD.

Operating Instructions

WARNING: Unplug cord from electrical outlet before servicing and when leaving unattended.
To Operate:
IMPORTANT - Always wear shoes when using your Low Boy.
Raise the handle pin release with foot.

Lay the machine on its back to reveal the bottom pan. Align the indentations in the pad holder with the brackets around the bottom pan. Place your hands on opposite sides of the pad holder and using the heel of your hands, push the pad holder onto the pan.
Use the included key to rotate the swing arms clockwise to lock the pad holder to the bottom pan. Place a pad on the floor and position the machine so that as the handle is raised the pad holder is centered on the pad.

Lay the floor machine on its back with the handle lying on the floor. This exposes the brush holder pan. Just place the pad over the round brush holder pan making sure it is in place.
CAUTION: NEVER put the pad on the machine by placing it on the floor and moving the running machine over it, or placing the machine over the pad and then starting the motor.

Hold the handle with both hands and push with the palms of your hands to move in the forward direction, then cup your hands and pull to bring back. The design of the machine eliminates the fatigue associated with controlling other floor machines.
Care of your Oreck Low Boy Floor Machine
This is a precision machine. Dropping unreasonable bumping or rough handling may result in damage. Remove brushes after use. The bristles may be damaged due to the weight of the machine. Store your machine in the upright position. After each use, remove wax or cleaning solutions. After sanding, blow sawdust off motor and locking mechanism.
Lubrication: With the handle in its lowest position, periodically place one drop of oil (3-in-One) on the thrust bearings.
