Frequently Asked Questions - GIGASET SX682 SAGEM

How to connect the Gigaset SX682 to a WiMAX network?
Open the web interface (http://192.168.2.1), click on Basic Installation Wizard and follow the steps: enter the access data provided by your WiMAX operator, select the antenna (internal or external), orient the device to optimize the signal, then complete the configuration.
How to set up VoIP telephony?
In the web interface, go to Advanced Settings > Telephony. Enable the VoIP option and enter your account credentials (username, password, SIP server) provided by your VoIP operator. You can also configure Out-of-band DTMF and Call waiting.
What to do if I forgot the password to access the configuration interface?
You must reset the device to factory settings. Press the Reset button on the back of the device for more than 5 seconds (use a thin object). All settings will be erased, including the password. Then reconfigure the device via the wizard.
How to change the language of the web interface?
Log into the web interface, click on the Language button at the top right, select your language from the dropdown list (French available) and click OK. The interface will be displayed in the chosen language.
How to orient the antenna to improve reception?
Use the Basic Installation Wizard in the web interface. After establishing a first connection, the wizard guides you to precisely orient the antenna. You can also use the RSSI indicators (more LEDs lit = better signal) or enable an audible signal to assist you.
How to update the firmware?
Download the firmware file from your operator's website. In the web interface, go to Advanced Settings > Administration > Firmware Update. Click Browse to select the file, then OK. Do not disconnect the device during the operation (duration up to 5 minutes).
How to configure the firewall?
In Advanced Settings > Internet > Firewall, you can enable or disable the built-in firewall. By default, it is enabled to protect your network. In Bridge mode, this option is not available. For advanced rules, use port forwarding or exposed host.
How to connect multiple PCs to the Gigaset SX682?
Connect a switch or hub to the Ethernet port of the Gigaset SX682. Plug your PCs into this switch. The built-in DHCP server will automatically assign IP addresses to each PC. Make sure no other DHCP server is active on your network.
What to do if the Online LED is off?
The Online LED turns off if the device is not connected to a WiMAX network. Check the WiMAX access data in the web interface, the antenna orientation (try moving it), and that the external antenna (if used) is properly connected. If the problem persists, contact your provider.
How to protect access to the configuration?
Set a strong system password in Advanced Settings > Administration > System Password. Use at least 4 characters (max 20) with letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not reuse this password elsewhere and keep it in a safe place.
