Frequently Asked Questions - SC-B551 SANYO

How often should I replace the dust bag?
Replace the dust bag every 3 months or when the bag full indicator shows it is full. Using a full bag reduces suction power.
Can I wash the HEPA filter?
Yes, the HEPA filter is washable. Rinse it under lukewarm water and let it dry completely for 24 hours before reinstalling. Do not use detergent.
What should I do if the vacuum loses suction?
Check if the dust bag is full, the filter is clogged, or there is a blockage in the hose. Clean or replace as needed. Also ensure the hose is securely attached.
How do I clean the brush roll?
Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Remove the brush roll cover and clean any hair or debris wrapped around the brush using scissors or a seam ripper.
The vacuum suddenly stopped working. What could be the cause?
It may have overheated and triggered thermal protection. Turn it off and unplug it for 30 minutes to cool down. Also check the power cord and fuse.
Can I use the vacuum for wet pick-up?
No, this vacuum is designed for dry use only. Using it for wet pick-up can damage the motor and pose an electrical hazard.
How do I rewind the power cord?
Press the cord rewind button located on the vacuum body while guiding the cord back to avoid whipping. Ensure the plug is held while rewinding.
Where can I purchase replacement bags and filters?
Replacement bags and filters are available at major retailers or online. Use only genuine Sanyo parts to ensure proper fit and performance.
What is the noise level of this vacuum?
The Sanyo SC-B551 operates at approximately 75 dB, which is typical for a vacuum cleaner of this type.
How do I store the vacuum and accessories?
Wrap the cord around the cord hooks, attach the hose to the vacuum, and store accessories in the onboard accessory compartment. Keep in a dry place.

Thank you for your purchase of the Sanyo Vacuum Cleaner.

Please read these instructions carefully before using.

A FEW PRECAUTIONS

  1. Operation without the dust compartment and/or filters in place will allow dust to enter the motor and could damage the vacuum cleaner.
  2. Keep the vacuum cleaner away from stoves and other heat sources. Heat can deform and discolor the plastic parts of the unit.
  3. Keep the vacuum cleaner free of insecticides. Do not wipe with benzine, thinner, petrol or other oils which might cause discoloration or cracking. To clean the body and hose, dampen a cloth with a mild detergent and wipe clean.
  4. Blocking the suction inlet or allowing the dust to clog the hose will decrease the efficiency of the motor.
  5. Be sure not to push the clamp button while carrying the vacuum cleaner.
  6. Never try to vacuum the following objects. They may damage the unit or cause a fire.
    * Wet things, mud, soil, and fluids
    * Burning cigarettes
    * Needles and razor blades
    * Inflammable materials such as gasoline and thinner
    * Construction rubbish

  7. The following kinds of treatment shorten hose life:

* Bending hose at an acute angle when storing
* Pulling the hose with excessive force
* Placing heavy objects on, or stepping on the hose

  1. Pull out the plug from the power source after use. Grasp the plug not the cord when pulling out the plug.

Pulling on the cord may lead to shortcircuiting.

  1. Long and continuous use causes the exhaust air and the body of the vacuum cleaner to become warm. This, however, does not denote malfunction.

  2. When vacuuming places that are very dusty, and also when vacuuming regularly, empty the dust compartment before it becomes completely filled.
