Receiver Wiring Adaptor
IMPORTANT

Before starting, compare items on your invoice with items received. Thoroughly check packing materials. If an item is missing, please call Crutchfield at 1-888-955-6000.

STEP 1 -- MATCH & CONNECT WIRES
A. Match wires below to the matching function of each wire on your receiver (refer to instructions supplied with receiver). The wire colors of your new receiver may, or may not, match the wire colors of the adaptor. Match adaptor and receiver wires by function, disregarding color.
B. Individually tape off any unused wires.
C. Make final wiring connections following instructions on page 3.

STEP 1 -- MATCH & CONNECT WIRES (continued)
Vehicle Applications
1988-'89 Volkswagen Golf, GTI and Jetta
Connections:
- White, White/Black, Gray and Gray/Black wires to the Front speaker wires of the receiver.
- Green, Green/Black, Violet and Violet/Black wires to the Rear speaker wires of the receiver.
- White and Gray RCAs to the Front RCA outputs of the receiver.
• The Green and Violet RCAs are not used.
1988-'92 Audi 80
1988-'95 Audi 90
1989-'94 Audi 100 w/o Bose
1989-'94 Audi 200 w/o Bose
Connections:
- White, White/Black, Gray and Gray/Black wires to the Front speaker wires of the receiver.
- Green and Violet RCAs to the Rear RCA outputs of the receiver.
- Green, Green/Black, Violet and Violet/Black wires are not used. Tape them off individually with electrical tape.
- White and Gray RCAs are not used.
1990-'94 Audi V8 Quattro
1989-'94 Audi 100 with Bose
1989-'94 Audi 200 with Bose
1990-'93 Volkswagen Cabriolet and Corrado
1990-'92 Volkswagen Golf, GTI, Jetta and Passat
1993-'95 Porsche 911
Connections:
- White and Gray RCAs to the Front RCA outputs of the receiver.
- Green and Violet RCAs to the Rear RCA outputs of the receiver.
- None of the wires labeled for speakers will be used. Tape them off individually with electrical tape.
NOTE:
Some vehicles don't have 12 Volts Switched Power in the vehicle. The installer will need to connect the receiver's switched power lead to a 12V switched power source in the fuse box.

1990 and older Volkswagen Golf, GTI
Early 1992 and older Volkswagen Jetta
1990 Volkswagen Passat
1991 and older Audi 80, 90, 100, 200
All Audi V8

STEP 2 -- CRIMP CONNECTIONS

Wire Stripper/Crimp Tool Crimp Caps


A. Strip wires back 1/2".

STEP 2 -- CONTINUED
D. Complete crimp connections for all necessary wires.
E. Be sure to wrap any wires from the Wiring Adaptor that are not necessary (wires with no match from the new receiver) with electrical tape.

STEP 3 -- APPLICATION
When ready to install the receiver, plug the Wiring Adaptor from the new receiver or receiver assembly into the factory radio harness(es) in the vehicle dash.
