Frequently Asked Questions - DRESDEN678FKH 3 Frilec

What is the minimum distance between the hob and the range hood for gas cooking?
The minimum distance is 65 cm. If the gas hob installation instructions specify a greater distance, that must be followed. This distance can be reduced for non-combustible parts of the hood operating at safety extra low voltage, provided they do not give access to live parts if deformed.
How do I install the ducted version?
Connect the hood to the chimney using a flexible or rigid pipe of 120 mm or 150 mm diameter. If using 120 mm, insert the reducer flange on the hood body outlet. Fix the pipe with clamps (not supplied). Remove any charcoal filters if present. Ensure the air is not discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from gas or other fuel appliances.
How often should I clean the grease filters?
The metal self-supporting grease filters should be cleaned every 2 months of operation, or more frequently with heavy usage. They are dishwasher safe. Avoid bending them, and ensure they are completely dry before refitting. The handle should face outward.
How do I replace the activated charcoal filter?
First remove the metal grease filters. Then remove the saturated charcoal filter and fit a new one. Finally, replace the metal grease filters. Charcoal filters are not washable and must be replaced approximately every 4 months (or more often with heavy use).
How do I change the LED light?
The LED light module must be replaced entirely (bulb not replaceable). Disconnect the appliance from the mains. Remove the grease filter and the two screws from the front plate. Disconnect the terminal of the LED light, press it from the back to remove it. Install the new LED light (max 1.5W, 12V DC) by pressing it onto the front plate and reconnecting the terminal. Reinstall the front plate and grease filter.
What should I do if the motor does not run but the light works?
Check if the fan blades are blocked. If not, the capacitor or motor may be damaged. Also check for disconnected wiring. Contact a qualified technician for replacement if needed.
What is the warranty period?
The warranty period is 2 years from the purchase date for the original buyer, covering the entire device and electrical parts. Exclusions include glass, lighting, plastic/metal parts, filters, and damage from misuse. The warranty is valid only for domestic use in Benelux and requires the original invoice.
Can I use the hood with a gas hob?
Yes, but ensure the minimum distance of 65 cm is maintained. The room must have adequate ventilation (direct opening to outside) to prevent backflow of exhaust gas, and the negative pressure should not exceed 0.04 mbar.
What does the Boost function do?
The Boost function runs the motor at maximum speed for 8 minutes, then automatically reverts to High speed. Press the Boost button to activate; press again to deactivate.
How do I clean the hood exterior?
Clean the hood with a damp cloth and a neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Always unplug or switch off the appliance before cleaning.
