Technicalsafety
The appliance contains a small amount of therefrigerant R600a, which is environmentally friendly but flammable. Makesure that therefrigerant circuit pipes are not damaged during transport or fitting. If refrigerants sprays out, it can cause eye injuries or ignite.

Observeambient temperatureand ventilation
Irrespectiveoftheclimaticclass (see ratingplate), the appliance can be operated at the following ambient temperatures: (Therating plate is located in the chest freezer lid. Fig. 1/10)

If the ambient temperature drops below the lower ambient temperature limit, the running time of there refrigerating unit is reduced. As a result, the freezer compartment is not adequately refrigerated. The frozen food may thaw in extreme cases.

Installingtheappliance
Installtheapplianceinadry,well ventilatedroom.Theinstallationlocation shouldneitherbeexposedtodirect sunlightnornearaheatsource,e.g. a cooker,radiator,etc.lfinstallationnext toaheatsourceisunavoidable,use a suitableinsulatingplateorobservethe followingminimumdistancestoaheat source:

Theflooroftheinstallationlocationmust notgiveway;ifrequired,reinforcefloor.
Alignappliancewithaspiritlevel.
If the floor is uneven, compensate with supports.

If the appliance is placed next to the wall, there must be a minimum distance of 70 mmbetween the wall and rear panel or side panels.
Removing the transportation protectiondevices
Removethefourtransportationprotection devices, Fig. 3, which are attached between the chest freezer lid and appliance.
Inserttwoofthesetransportation protectiondevicesintothedesignated holdersatthebackoftheappliance. This maintains the minimum distance betweentheapplianceandthewall,the chestfreezerlidcanbe openedcorrectly andventilationisguaranteed.
Connecting the appliance
Afterinstallingtheappliance, waitatleast 12 hourbeforeswitchingonthe appliance. Duringtransportationtheoilin thecompressormayhaveflowedinto the refrigerationsystem.
Beforeswitchingontheapplianceforthe firsttime,cleantheinterior (see Cleaning).
Thesocketshouldbefreelyaccessible. Connecttheapplianceto220-240 V/50 Hzalternatingcurrentviaacorrectly installedearthedsocket. Thesocketmust befusedwitha10to16Afuse.
Forappliancesoperatedinnon-European countries, the identification plates should be checked whether the electricity supply and the current model stated match the vales of themainssupply. Thesespecifications can be found on the rating plate.

Switchessuperfreezingon andoff. The "super" function is switched on when they yellow display is lit.

- If the red display is lit, Fig. 2/3, this indicate that the temperature in the appliance is too warm; donotput frozen food in the appliance until the reddisplay goes out.

- Whentheapplianceisswitchedon, the temperatureforthefreezer compartmentisautomaticallysetto approx.-18 °Cifnotemperaturehas beeninput.
- Ifthelidcannotbeimmediatelyopened againwhenthechestfreezerisclosed, waittwotothreeminutesuntilthe resultinglowpressurehasequalised.

Plasticfilm, polyethyleneblownfilm, aluminiumfoilandfreezertins. Theseproductscanbepurchasedfrom yourdealer.
The following products are suitable for sealing the wrapped food:
Rubberbands, plasticclips, string, cold-resistantadhesivetape. Bagsandpolyethyleneblownfilmcanbe sealedwithafilmsealer.
Freezingfreshfood
In the prefreezer compartment, Fig. 1/12, fresh food is frozen especially quickly and therefore also gently. Distributethe food over the bottom and along the side panel so the prefreezer compartment. Already frozen food must not come into contact with food which is to be frozen. If required, restack frozen food in the storage compartment.
If more food is frozenthan there is space in the pre-freezer compartment, the left side of the bottom of the storage compartment can be used for freezing.
Fastfreezing
Inordertoretainthevitamins,nutritional value,appearanceandflavourfood shouldbefrozenasquicklyaspossible. Donotexceedthemax.freezing capacity.Vitamins,nutritionalvalues, appearanceandtastearetherefore retained.
Topreventanundesirabletemperature risewhenplacingfreshfoodinthefreezer compartment,switchonfastfreeze severalhoursbeforehand.
Asarule, 4-6 hoursisadequate.
lfmax.freezingcapacityistobeutilised, 24 hoursarerequired.
Smallerquantitiesoffood(approx. 10 % of thefreezingcapacity)canbefrozen withoutfastfreeze.

Storingfood
Glassbottlescontainingliquidswhich mayfreezemustnotbestoredinthe appliance.Bottleswillcrack.
Thebasketsallowtheproducetobe clearlyarranged. Thechestfreezercan alsobeloadedwithoutthebasketsup to the stacking limit, Fig. 1/11, (lower edgeofthecoverframe). In this case morefrozenfoodcanbestored, the energyconsumptionreducedand, if a faultoccurs, the temperaturerise delayed.

Ensure that the storage temperature is at least -18 °C.
If the temperature in the applianerises duetoafaultor power failure, check whether the produce has started to thaw.
Donotrefreezethawedfood.Exception: If youusethefoodtomakeareadymeal (boilingorfrying),youcanrefreezethis readymeal.

Removablepartition

The partition prevents food which histobe frozen in the pre-freezer compartment from coming into contact with already frozen food in the storage compartment.
If the partition is pulled out and placed on the bottom of the chest freezer, small item soffrozen food, e.g. strawberries, can be frozen quickly and above all individually. When defrosting the appliance, the partition can be placed under the drain aged to catch the defrost water.
Defrosting
Alayeroffrostonthecontainerwalls impairsrefrigerationofthefrozenfood andincreasespowerconsumption. Removethelayerofhoarfrostregularly.
Generaltips
- Whenloadingandunloadingthechest freezer,openthelidasbrieflyas possible.
- Donotinstallthechestfreezer in a damproom.Highairhumidity promotesformationoffrost.
- Packfreshfoodasairtightaspossible.
Attention: Donotscrapeoffhoarfrostor icewithaknifeor pointedobject. You could damage therefrigerant tubes. Leakingrefrigerant may ignite or cause eye injuries.
Thawingtheappliance
- Approx. 4 hours before defrosting switch on fast freezeto ensure that the food is frozensolid.
- Thenremovefrozenfoodandwrapin severallayersofnewspaperora blanketandstoreinacoollocation.
- Opentheliidandpulloutthemains plug.
- Pulloutouterdrainagestopper, Fig. 7/1, takeflattrayor, ifavailable, appliance partition, Fig. 7/2, out of the appliance, placeunderthedrainage holetocatchthedefrostwater, Fig. 7/3, andpullouttheinner drainagestopper, Fig. 7/4.
- Afterdefrosting, cleantheappliance andwipetheinsidedry.
- Closedefrostwaterdrainagewithboth stoppers,insertpartition,connect applianceandputbackfrozenfood.

•After cleaning:Reconnectthe appliance. - Occasionallycleantherearofthe appliancewithavacuumcleaneror paintbrushtopreventanincreased powerconsumption.

Donotuseabrasiveoracidiccleaning agentsandsolvents.
Cleanthelidsealwithwateronlyanddry thoroughlywithacloth.
Thecleaningwatermustnotgetintothe controlpanelorthelight.
Tipsforsavingenergy
- Install appliance in a cool, dry, well ventilated room! but not indirect sunlight and not near a heat source (e.g. radiator, cooker, etc.). If required, use an insulating plate.
- Leavewarmfoodtocooldownbefore placingitintheappliance!
- Thawfrozenfoodbyplacingitinthe refrigerator. Thelowtemperatureofthe frozenfoodthencoolsthefoodinthe refrigerator.
- Openappliancelidasbrieflyas possible!
- Alayerofhoarfrostinthefreezer compartmentwillimpairrefrigeration of thefrozenfoodandincreasepower consumption.Defrosttheappliance if frostforms!
- Occasionallycleantherearofthe appliancewithavacuumcleaneror paintbrushtopreventanincreased powerconsumption.
- Ifonlyaveragequantitiesoffood (approx. 40% - 60% ofthemaximum freezingcapacity) are frozen, the food can be placed in the appliance 6 hours after fast freezewasswitchedon and then fast freezecan beswitchedoff.
- If the appliance is only partially loaded (for appliances with partition no higher than "e" mark on the partition), load with food which uses the "eco" setting.
